Albuquerque, NM- Last month, Abortion Free New Mexico released a report on a woman from Michigan, who at 28 weeks of pregnancy, received the first dose of Pfizer’s BioNTech vaccine who delivered a nonviable 29 week old baby. Her baby had no heartbeat within three days of the vaccine and she reported the stillbirth directly to the VAERS website attributing the vaccine to her baby’s death.
Abortion Free New Mexico continues to receive information from a whistleblower, who sits on a COVID 19 task force, who is concerned not only about these adverse reactions in pregnant women but also about how the media is not alerting the public to these reactions that are resulting in stillbirths at an alarming rate.
According to our whistleblower,
“We’re up to 35 adverse pregnancy outcomes (preterm birth, miscarriage, spontaneous abortion) related to the ‘vaccine’ and 25 ‘birth defects’. There have been 925 deaths reported overall with about 300 of them within 2 days of getting the shot. These are just short term effects! There are also reports of ‘permanent disability’.
There will be more later and by then it will be difficult to link them to the vaccine.
This is VERY VERY bad and so many people have already been vaccinated. Many will develop severe autoimmune diseases like MS, infertility, & prion diseases, thrombocytopenia, alzheimers, nonspecific brain damage, lung immunopathology, multiple organ failure.
I guess most of the doctors don’t understand the science. I can’t believe more aren’t fighting this. It’s against the Nuremberg code and a horrible crime against humanity. Since the embryo/fetus is so quickly developing they’re a good indicator of toxicity.
The other scientists on my team seem ‘afraid’ to say anything and everything we put out is filtered through the politicians before THEY decide what gets told to the public.”
None of the COVID 19 vaccines have been approved for pregnant women and are being distributed without full approval from the FDA on an emergency approval basis. In addition, All four of the vaccines currently being distributed are produced and/or tested with cell lines that originated from an aborted child.
According to the National Vaccine Information Center, as of February 18, 2021, there have been an additional 46 complications reported of pregnant women who have received a COVID 19 vaccine. These complications range from stillbirth, premature delivery due to spontaneous rupture of amniotic fluid, abnormal fetal heart rate and more. Complications are occurring both early and late in the pregnancies.

“Pregnant women are being mislead to believe that the Pfizer and Moderna COVID 19 vaccines are safe during pregnancy. However, our whistleblower who is currently working on a COVID 19 task-force is very concerned about the large amount of adverse short term effects already being reported, especially in pregnant women. In addition, it is disturbing that OBGYN doctors are advising pregnant women to take the vaccines. In one instance two doctors, in Virginia, made this recommendation and within two days a woman miscarried her baby. This vaccine is leaving a trail of devastated mothers and who knows what the long term fertility issues may be for these women. The COVID 19 vaccines being administered to pregnant women must be halted immediately. These vaccines should not be promoted by the medical community as safe because the evidence is mounting that they, in fact, are not.”

Breaking: 28 Week Pre-born Baby Dies in Utero After Maternal COVID Vaccination
This month, Abortion Free New Mexico was alerted to the apparent death of a 28 week old baby in utero that occurred just three days after the baby’s mother received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico issued the following statement,
“Our hearts go out to this mother who has lost her child after taking the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. When a women miscarries her pre-born child three days after receiving a vaccination it should sound an alarm for all pregnant women considering a COVID-19 vaccine. Despite this fact, women are currently going to their OB-GYN prenatal appointments and are being offered the COVID-19 vaccine even though it has not been properly tested and can actually harm or potentially kill their babies in the womb. Overall, there is so much uncertainty and cause for concern regarding the use of the four fast tracked COVID-19 vaccines that are currently being distributed. Additionally, the fact that vaccine manufacturers are fully shielded from liability from any and all vaccine deaths and injuries is incredibly disconcerting.”
The Ethical and Moral Implications of the COVID 19 Vaccine
The use of aborted fetal cells in the COVID-19 vaccines is raising more red flags for those who value life. For the pro-life community, in particular, this issue has tremendous ethical and moral implications. Just as the pro-life community does not want to fund abortion procedures through federal or state tax dollars, more are beginning to object to receiving vaccines made with the use of aborted fetal cells, that are prevalent in many vaccines, not just the COVID-19 variations.
According to Children of God For Life, whose mission is to effectively oppose the use of aborted children in biomedical research,
“All vaccines for the COVID-19 virus being distributed are produced and/or tested with cell lines that originated from an aborted child.”
The Pfizer BioNTech COVID 19 vaccine used the HEK293 fetal cell line, originating from a healthy aborted baby in the 1970’s, in their research and development and they used the same cell line to test the vaccine.
Johnson and Johnson used the PER.C6 fetal cell line that originated from a healthy 18 week old aborted child.
Moderna used the HEK293 fetal cell line in their research and development.
Astrazenca also used the HEK293 fetal cell line in their research and development.
“The fact that vaccines are being distributed that use aborted fetal cells in one way or another places people of conscience in a moral dilemma. Under the pretense of saving lives, vaccine manufactures are actually exploiting the lives of innocent pre-born children that our society has deemed unwanted. These ethically compromised vaccines are counterproductive, are causing miscarriages as well as other adverse reactions and as is the case with the Merck vaccine, they are not even effective in protecting you from contracting COVID-19,” stated Tara Shaver.

The New Mexico legislature erased decades of debate and technological advancements that scientifically prove and protect the humanity of the baby in the womb. During the debate on the House and Senate floor, all of the 28 sponsors of S.B. 10 ‘Repeal Abortion Ban’, refused to answer questions over and over again when pressed for comment. Senator Jacob Candelaria (D-Bernalillo) went so far in his irrational and unscientific denial of the of the development of the child in the womb, when he threw a fetal model of a 12 week old baby that was biologically accurate in the trash calling it, ‘offensive’! Shockingly, we identified several self proclaimed Christian and Catholic democrat legislators who chose their party over their faith and voted to pass it. All of the Republican legislators voted against it. Unfortunately, radical democrats now hold a literal DEATH grip over the New Mexico legislature with a supermajority!

Albuquerque, New Mexico- For 52 years New Mexico had one of the nation’s strongest pro-life pieces of legislation on its books prohibiting abortions, the Criminal Abortion Statute, was passed by the New Mexico legislature in 1969. The 1969 Criminal Abortion Statute made performing an abortion a 4th degree felony! In addition, the statute also prohibited non-physicians from performing surgical abortions and according to the law it explicitly,
“requires that an [non-elective] abortion be performed [only after a panel of physicians deemed that the pregnancy put the woman’s life at risk and only at an accredited hospital] only with the woman’s consent.” (emphasis added)
These profoundly pro-woman provisions of its time were no doubt debated at length and determined to be in the best interest of New Mexico women.
The legislature, at that time, recognized the criminality of physicians performing a procedure that takes the life of another human, was worthy of a felony charge and that precautions needed to be taken by the New Mexico legislature to ensure that the lives of New Mexico babies in the womb were valued in an equal measure as that of New Mexico women.

“I will be speaking as a concerned alumnus today. It has come to my attention that UNM is operating and funding an abortion clinic. It is located off campus near the airport. They perform late term abortions at this facility. I think it is reprehensible that UNM is using tax dollars to keep this clinic open. Included in this money may be the generous donations of UNM alumni. You and you alone, the Regents, have the power to put a stop to this appalling practice by closing this clinic. On the building is a sign that reads, ‘Heroes Work Here.’ I firmly believe in and support our frontline workers who tirelessly strive to save lives. However, abortionists and their aides do not save lives. In fact, they take lives. Webster’s defines ‘hero’ as, ‘A person admired for achievements and noble qualities.’ This does not define the workers of this clinic. I would like to ask that you have this sign removed immediately. I thank you for allowing me the time to speak to you today and ask that you carefully consider my recommendations.”
In response to the passionate public comments during this meeting, Regent Robert Schwartz expressed his position of support for UNM’s extreme abortion agenda. Do his comments reflect the entire Board of Regents as well as UNM President Garnett Stokes who was also present during the virtual meeting?
Schwartz stated,
“I don’t want to leave the impression that the UNM Center for Reproductive Health is just being tolerated by the University, when in fact it is an important part of the University and the Health Sciences Center and it is and should be celebrated by the University.” [emphasis ours]

If that admission wasn’t clear enough, UNM Regent Robert Schwartz, went on to emphatically reiterate, [italics indicate our interpretation]
“I would like to suggest that heroes do work in our [abortion facility] Center for Reproductive Health. That our [abortion] doctors in our Center for Reproductive Health, our [abortion] nurses, our [abortion] technicians, our [abortion] medical assistants, they are heroes! They are heroes because of the [abortion] care they provide, because of the [lack of] compassion they demonstrate [to pre-born babies], because of the exceptional medical quality of the [abortion] work they perform everyday, because of the [abortion] service they provide to women and to families [who want to kill their unwanted children] in New Mexico. So I want to indicate, not that we are tolerating this [radical abortion agenda] but that we in fact, appreciate this [extremist] work that they are doing at UNM, that we are celebrating the [abortion] work that they are doing here at UNM. That they really are our heroes. We are proud of you. You are our heroes. Thank you so much for the [abortion] work you do.”

For UNM Regent Robert Schwartz, the debate is settled at UNM and it appears that while UNM is facing a 14 million dollar deficit they would rather use the tax dollars UNM receives and the generous donations from UNM alumni and others to fund their radical abortion agenda instead of their football program.
“UNM Regent Robert Schwartz has been outspoken about his concerns regarding the sustainability of the football program.
‘I think this issue is going to keep on coming back, and we are either going to have to cut the athletic budget at least to some extent or we are going to cut the academic budget, because there are not enough resources to cover everything across the board,’ Schwartz said.”
If that wasn’t enough, a UNM graduate student slammed the university on Tuesday during the public comments stating,
“I really love UNM,” however, she continued, “but it feels like UNM doesn’t love me back!”
She went on to complain that the post graduate cost of living is $22,000 per year but UNM only pays her and fellow student teachers $14,000 a year!

Albuquerque, New Mexico- Today two identical radical pro-death bills are being voted upon on the New Mexico House and Senate floor, “REPEAL ABORTION BAN” SB10 (and its corresponding House Bill HB7). New Mexico Democrats have rushed both of these bills through and are set to finally strip The Criminal Abortion Statute [Section 30-5-1 NMSA 1978] off of the books in New Mexico.
If the Criminal Abortion Statute is repealed, non physicians will be able to perform invasive surgical abortions on women without their consent and conscience protections for physicians will be stripped away. In addition, if Roe V. Wade is overturned New Mexico will have lost other protections that exists in the statute that are not currently enforceable. These include making performing an abortion a 4th degree felony.
In the past, Catholic Pro-Life Democrats joined Pro-Life Republicans on the New Mexico Senate floor to defeat both of these extreme bills. However, today it will be determined if there are any faithful Pro-Life Catholic Democrats left in power after the Democratic Party of New Mexico, run by radical leftists, purged former Pro-Life Catholic Democrats who courageously defeated this pro-death legislation in the past.

Archbishop of New Mexico Speaks Out
At a time when free speech in America and religious freedom is under attack in New Mexico, on Wednesday, January 20th, the Archdiocese of Santa Fe issued a statement encouraging EVERY Catholic throughout New Mexico (including any remaining faithful Catholics in public office) to utilize their first amendment rights to protect innocent life and work to end abortion, not codify it into New Mexico law.
“As we enter into our annual day of prayer to turn hearts away from the horror of abortion, I join my brothers and sisters in Christ in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe in asking the Lord of All Life to hear our fervent prayers on behalf of the unborn children who are fashioned in the very image of God. While all abortions are gravely evil, we must pray even harder here in New Mexico where late term abortions are still legal. We all have an obligation to speak for those persons in the womb who cannot speak, to act for those who cannot act. This year we will be celebrating our annual “Mass for Life” in the Diocese of Gallup. Bishops Wall, Baldacchino and I will concelebrate the Mass and join with the faithful in praying for an end to abortion and the deepening of respect for the sanctity of all life from conception to natural death. I ask our Blessed Mother to intercede for us in this vital and urgent prayer.”Archbishop John C. Wester

“The Catholic Bishops of New Mexico oppose SB10 and also the assisted suicide bill. The Bishops are actively lobbying the legislators to oppose these bills. Please pray for the success of our work. Please call your Senator and Representative to vote no.”

Albuquerque, New Mexico- Abortion Free New Mexico is urging the public, especially University of New Mexico (UNM) Alumni and those with relatives attending UNM, to let their voices be heard at the next virtual Board of Regents Meeting on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Details on how to sign up below.
UNM, the state’s tax funded university, has it’s own free standing abortion facility (Center for Reproductive Health) that kills pre-born babies up to 24 weeks old in the womb. According to this 2016 analysis and this 2016 study, babies born at 24 weeks or 6 months gestation have a 60-70% survival rate. Viable babies who have a great chance of survival are being aborted by the University of New Mexico and it’s leaders need to act swiftly to see that this comes to an end.
In addition, for several months now, the UNM Center for Reproductive Health has fixed a banner on its building boasting that “Heroes Work Here” but nothing could be further from the truth. Abortionists are not heroes, they have betrayed true medicine by taking innocent human lives. This banner is offensive and merely serves to prop up the egos of those who perpetuate a culture of death in New Mexico.
“It is unconscionable that The University of New Mexico (UNM) is using taxpayer dollars to fund an abortion facility that exploits women, many in crisis situations, who need legitimate solutions to the problems they face. There is no reason or mandate for UNM to operate this free-standing abortion facility and so the pro-life community must let their voices be heard and urge UNM leadership to take appropriate action to close this facility immediately. Heroes do not work at abortion facilities, the heroes are the moms who choose life for their babies,” stated Tara Shaver.

The UNMCRH free standing abortion clinic is located at 2301 Yale Blvd in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Albuquerque, New Mexico- Abortion Free New Mexico was alerted to the apparent death of a 28 week old baby in utero that occurred just three days after the baby’s mother received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. After receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, this adverse event was reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).
“is a national early warning system to detect possible safety problems in U.S.-licensed vaccines. VAERS is co-managed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).”
It is important to note that VAERS is a “passive” reporting system, meaning it relies on individuals to voluntarily send in reports of their experiences to the CDC and FDA. So this potential vaccine induced miscarriage could be one of many since reporting is strictly voluntary.
The pregnant mother who received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine was a 35 year old woman in Michigan who was given the first dose of the vaccine on December 23, 2020. By December 26, the baby had no heartbeat and was delivered as nonviable at 29 weeks of pregnancy. Here is the documented testimony from the patient alerting the vaccine makers of the apparent death of her unborn child after receiving their COVID-19 vaccine submitted on the VAERS/CDC website,
“I was 28 weeks and 5 days pregnant when I received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Two days later (12/25/2020 in the afternoon), I noticed decreased motion of the baby. The baby was found to not have a heartbeat in the early am on 12/26/2020 and I delivered a 2lb 7oz nonviable female fetus at 29 weeks gestation. I was 35 years old at the time of the fetal demise and the only pregnancy history for this pregnancy included a velamentous cord insertion that was being closely monitored by a high risk OB. My estimated due was March 12, 2021.”
The Pfizer website clearly states that their BioNTech vaccine has not been approved or licensed by the FDA which is also the case for the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Pfizer also states on it’s website that no pregnant women were enrolled in the vaccine trial, and that data is limited in these cases. This should raise major concerns for pregnant women considering a COVID-19 vaccination.
In addition, the 21st Century Cures Act that was passed in 2016 ensures that drug companies and vaccine administrators are not legally liable for fetal injuries, deaths or harm to pregnant women caused by vaccines given to pregnant women. In fact, the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 which was upheld in 2018 by the U.S. Supreme Court, protects vaccine manufacturers from liability in the event of any vaccine related injury or death.
In a recent development, one of the worlds most prominent pharmaceutical companies, Merck, has just dumped their COVID-19 vaccine trials because their vaccine doesn’t even work! Shockingly Australia halted their COVID-19 vaccine development after people started testing positive for HIV (AIDS) after receiving their vaccine developed by the University of Queensland (UQ) and biotech firm CSL.
“Our hearts go out to this mother who has lost her child after taking the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. When a women miscarries her pre-born child three days after receiving a vaccination it should sound an alarm for all pregnant women considering a COVID-19 vaccine. Despite this fact, women are currently going to their OB-GYN prenatal appointments and are being offered the COVID-19 vaccine even though it has not been properly tested and can actually harm or potentially kill their babies in the womb. Overall, there is so much uncertainty and cause for concern regarding the use of the four fast tracked COVID-19 vaccines that are currently being distributed. Additionally, the fact that vaccine manufacturers are fully shielded from liability from any and all vaccine deaths and injuries is incredibly disconcerting,”stated Tara Shaver.
The Ethical and Moral Implications of the COVID 19 Vaccine
The use of aborted fetal cells in the COVID-19 vaccines is raising more red flags for those who value life. For the pro-life community, in particular, this issue has tremendous ethical and moral implications.
Just as the pro-life community does not want to fund abortion procedures through federal or state tax dollars, more are beginning to object to receiving vaccines made with the use of aborted fetal cells, that are prevalent in many vaccines, not just the COVID-19 variations.
According to Children of God For Life, whose mission is toeffectively oppose the use of aborted children in biomedical research, “All vaccines for the COVID-19 virus being distributed are produced and/or tested with cell lines that originated from an aborted child.”
The Pfizer BioNTech COVID 19 vaccine used the HEK293 fetal cell line, originating from a healthy aborted baby in the 1970’s, in their research and development and they used the same cell line to test the vaccine.
Johnson and Johnson used the PER.C6 fetal cell line that originated from a healthy 18 week old aborted child.
Moderna used the HEK293 fetal cell line in their research and development.
Astrazenca also used the HEK293 fetal cell line in their research and development.
“The fact that vaccines are being distributed that use aborted fetal cells in one way or another places people of conscience in a moral dilemma. Under the pretense of saving lives, vaccine manufactures are actually exploiting the lives of innocent pre-born children that our society has deemed unwanted. These ethically compromised vaccines are counterproductive, are causing miscarriages as well as other adverse reactions and as is the case with the Merck vaccine, they are not even effective in protecting you from contracting COVID-19,” stated Tara Shaver.
This January marked 48 years of legalized abortion in our nation, as we remember all of the innocent lives lost we plead for God’s mercy and renew our resolve to faithfully work to end this grave injustice. Abortion bill heats up: In its Roundhouse Roundup electronic newsletter, the Republican Party of New Mexico urged recipients to contact members of the Senate’s Health and Public Affairs Committee to ask them to oppose a bill that would repeal a law that makes performing an abortion a fourth-degree felony. “We must keep life sacred and protect the unborn,” the GOP wrote. The group Abortion Free New Mexico, run by self-described pro-life missionaries Bud and Tara Shaver, also jumped into the divisive debate, writing in a news release the Legislature is dominated by “extremist” Democrats who are “reintroducing their radical Pro-Death agenda.”
Regional pro-life groups commend the decision and say the move is pro-woman.
“The abortion pill is not without its side effects and some of those have even lead to the deaths of numerous women. FDA regulations are in place because that is what is best when using abortion-inducing drugs,” said Tara Shaver, spokesperson for Abortion Free New Mexico.
“We are glad to see that SCOTUS is making decisions that are in the best interest and health of the mother,” Shaver continued.
Abortion Free New Mexico spokeswoman Tara Shaver said Friday the group supports the Supreme Court’s ruling. “Essentially, our view is that when these pills can be sent in the mail you are essentially making every home an abortion clinic,” she said.
National Sanctity of Human Life Month
As one of his final acts before leaving office, President Donald Trump issued a proclamation declaring January 22, 2021 National Sanctity of Human Life Day stating,

So in remembrance of the over 60 million innocent lives lost to abortion in America since 1973 we held a candle light memorial prayer vigil at the only gravesite in New Mexico where two aborted babies (Ryan and Eve) are buried.

After Death, Texas Nursing Board Closes Investigation Of Abortionist
The Texas Board of Nursing notified Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico this month that it has closed their official investigation of nurse and Hill Top Women’s abortion clinic manager, Gloria Martinez after her death of CV-19. Exactly one year ago, we reported that Gloria Martinez was performing illegal medical abortions in clear violation of Texas law. In response to the closure of this investigation, Tara Shaver issued the following statement,
“We would like to thank the Texas Board of Nursing for conducting a thorough investigation based on our findings of possible of illegal abortions conducted by Gloria Martinez. We are confident that our complaint would have resulted in the revocation of her Texas nursing license and are sorry that the investigation ended prematurely due to her untimely death. Abortions are not essential and at a time when the Governor of Texas halted abortions, abortionist Franz Theard along with his abortion clinic manager Gloria Martinez scandalously moved their full abortion operation across the border into New Mexico. While all other elective procedures were halted abortions continued and both Theard and Martinez contracted the virus. Franz Theard continues to perform abortions, even though he is now reportedly on an oxygen tank and his longtime abortion business partner Gloria Martinez has passed away. Our hope is that Franz Theard will finally decide to stop killing children violently by abortion and close his New Mexico abortion facility immediately so that lives can ultimately be saved.”
Thankfully, over the course of the past year a perfect storm created by formal medical and nursing board complaints filed against abortionist Franz Theard and his clinic manager, Gloria Martinez, in addition to Texas deeming abortions non-essential, ultimately lead to the closure of Hill Top Women’s Reproductive Clinic’s, El Paso, TX location.

In New Mexico, the legislative session began this week with a super-majority dominated by extremist democrats. What is their top priority? They are reintroducing their radical Pro-Death agenda, beginning on Monday with Senate Bill 10: REPEAL ABORTION BAN! Also on their agenda is an assisted suicide bill titled “End of Life Options” HB 47.
Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico issued the following statement,
“It is very disturbing to see that when Democrats have control of the New Mexico legislature their main agenda is to push a radical pro-death agenda aimed at taking innocent defenseless life in the womb and targeting the elderly and vulnerable with a premature government sactioned death. At a time when the public has been shut out of our State Capital under the guise of public safety these two bills are the epitome of the challenges that New Mexicans face with a legislature that doesn’t listen to or defend the people it is supposed to represent. All people of good conscience should contact their House Representative and Senator to ask them to oppose these life endangering bills.”
The Pinon Post reports,
“According to two legislators, SB-10 will be heard on Monday in the Senate Health & Public Affairs Committee, and it is critical for Piñon Post readers to reach out to the legislators in the committee and demand they vote “NO” on SB-10…”
At a time when free speech in America and religious freedom is under attack in New Mexico, on Wednesday, January 20th, the Archdiocese of Santa Fe issued a statement encouraging EVERY Catholic throughout New Mexico (including any remaining faithful Catholics in public office) to utilize their first amendment rights to protect innocent life and work to end abortion, not codify it into New Mexico law.
“As we enter into our annual day of prayer to turn hearts away from the horror of abortion, I join my brothers and sisters in Christ in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe in asking the Lord of All Life to hear our fervent prayers on behalf of the unborn children who are fashioned in the very image of God. While all abortions are gravely evil, we must pray even harder here in New Mexico where late term abortions are still legal. We all have an obligation to speak for those persons in the womb who cannot speak, to act for those who cannot act. This year we will be celebrating our annual “Mass for Life” in the Diocese of Gallup. Bishops Wall, Baldacchino and I will concelebrate the Mass and join with the faithful in praying for an end to abortion and the deepening of respect for the sanctity of all life from conception to natural death. I ask our Blessed Mother to intercede for us in this vital and urgent prayer.”Archbishop John C. Wester

El Paso, TX- The Texas Board of Nursing has notified Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico that it has closed their official investigation of nurse and Hill Top Women’s abortion clinic manager, Gloria Martinez after her death of CV-19.
Exactly one year ago (1/13/2020) to the day, Abortion Free New Mexico reported that Gloria Martinez was performing illegal medical abortions in clear violation of Texas law.
The Texas Health and Safety Code Section 171.003 clearly states that “An abortion may be performed only by a physicianlicensed to practice medicine in this state.”
Section 171.063(1) clearly states that, “the person who gives, sells, dispenses, administers, provides, or prescribes the abortion-inducing drug is a physician.”
According to Texas law only a licensed physician can perform abortions and includes medical abortions. In a recent undercover call placed to Hill Top Women’s Reproductive Clinic located in El Paso, Abortion Free New Mexico reveals that clinic manager, Gloria Martinez is performing medical abortions at a cost of $550.
In response to the closure of this investigation, Tara Shaver, spokeswoman for Abortion Free New Mexico issued the following statement,
“We would like to thank the Texas Board of Nursing for conducting a thorough investigation based on our findings of possible of illegal abortions conducted by Gloria Martinez. We are confident that our complaint would have resulted in the revocation of her Texas nursing license and are sorry that the investigation ended prematurely due to her untimely death.
Abortions are not essential and at a time when the Governor of Texas halted abortions, abortionist Franz Theard along with his abortion clinic manager Gloria Martinez scandalously moved their full abortion operation across the border into New Mexico. While all other elective procedures were halted abortions continued and both Theard and Martinez contracted the virus. Franz Theard continues to perform abortions, even though he is now reportedly on an oxygen tank and his longtime abortion business partner Gloria Martinez has passed away.
Our hope is that Franz Theard will finally decide to stop killing children violently by abortion and close his New Mexico abortion facility immediately so that lives can ultimately be saved.”
Thankfully, over the course of the past year a perfect storm created by formal medical and nursing board complaints filed against abortionist Franz Theard and his clinic manager, Gloria Martinez, in addition to Texas deeming abortions non-essential, ultimately lead to the closure of Hill Top Women’s Reproductive Clinic’s, El Paso, TX location.
Albuquerque, New Mexico- Last week we were blessed to talk with Fr. Frank Pavone, of Priests for Life, on End Abortion TV. This provided a great opportunity for us to educate his audience about the late term abortion crisis in New Mexico. It is hard for others to believe that late term abortion even occurs at all, but in New Mexico it is all too common. This is why we have fought so hard for over a decade for the lives of the precious innocent children who are scheduled to die each week in Albuquerque during barbaric late term abortions. This year marked 10 years of ministry for us in New Mexico! We came here in 2010 as a missionary family, Tirzah, our oldest, was only 6 months old. Since then, we have been blessed with Eden (8), Moriah (6), Azariah (2) and our newest addition is due in April! As we have been so richly blessed, we have worked tirelessly to be a blessing for life in New Mexico. Over the past decade, Albuquerque has been exposed as the late-term abortion capital of the world (a designation we coined) our comprehensive research has produced complaints filed against EVERY abortion facility in the state and even criminal referrals to the NM Attorney General by U.S. Congress!
Countless babies lives have been saved through our outreach and moms shown the love of Christ, abortion clinics have closed, new pro-life groups have started, church and political leaders have risen up, and the entire culture has shifted in defense of LIFE in 2020!

2011- Late Term Abortion Exposed
In 2010 we designated Albuquerque, New Mexico as the late-term abortion capital and began our investigative research and public awareness efforts.
Our investigations uncovered numerous abortion injuries and subsequent complaints filed with the NMMB produced an official investigation of abortionist Shelly Sella.
In 2014 we launched Protest ABQ, a three year sustained public awareness effort that sought to bring accountability to the abortion industry, leaders and abortion collaborators.
2018- Abortion Death Uncovered and New Mexico Medical Board Investigates
We recieved an anonymous tip and uncovered an abortion related death at Southwestern Women’s Options that results in another New Mexico Medical Board investigation in 2018!
We filed two separate complaints against Franz Theard and clinic manager Gloria Martinez and conducted two public awareness campaigns in the Borderland. Within a year Theard’s El Paso Clinic was closed permanently!
Our work culminated in 2020 with a total cultural & political shift in the defense of life! Defending life was the primary focus of every Republican candidate down the ticket! While we laid it all on the line to help them, the radical left understood the implications as well and simply STOLE it. President Trump & Michelle Garcia Holmes are now challenging these results!

Our efforts are driven by our love for and relationship with the Lord and a desire to lead others to him. Albuquerque, New Mexico- As 2020 comes to a close, we would like to thank you for helping us to finish strong! This past week Michelle Garcia Holmes for Congress (CD1), Dinah Vargas for NM House of Representatives (District 10) and Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico testified during the final UNM Board of Regents meeting of 2020 which also included UNM President Garnet Stokes.
They asked this governing body to immediately remove the “Heroes Work Here” banner, and for UNM to close down their late term abortion facility (UNMCRH) because the intentional taking of an innocent person’s life should never be associated with our state’s flagship university’s policies or mission. Please pray that UNM leadership will take action to become an institution that values all life.

The 2020 Election is Not Over Yet!

Michelle Garcia Holmes has filed a lawsuit funded by the Republican Party of New Mexico to validate the votes cast in Congressional District 1. As a result, all of the ballots cast have been impounded and are currently being examined after several allegations were raised over potential voter fraud in the 2020 election. This has the potential to overturn not only her race, but also other Republican state district races in Bernalillo County, Valencia County and a portion of Sandoval County!
An interesting development is materializing that may give Michelle Garcia Holmes a special election and another opportunity to represent us and our values in the United States Congress…
What does this mean if Deb Haaland joins (worst-case scenario) a Biden administration? Michelle Garcia Holmes will get a special election and the opportunity to run AGAIN against another Democrat opponent!
FLASHBACK: Bill Redmond won his congressional seat in a special election after losing to Bill Richardson in 1996. Three months later, Richardson resigned to become United States Ambassador to the United Nations. Bill Redmond was a candidate in the special election for the balance of Richardson’s term. He was initially considered an underdog, but won by 3,000 votes.

President Donald Trump has also filed a lawsuit in New Mexico regarding ballot drop boxes that may have been used illegally in New Mexico during the 2020 election.
According to the Pinon Post,
“The lawsuit focused on “drop boxes” for the deposit of absentee ballots and alleged fraud that occurred. The suit claims Democrat Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver created an election that was not constitutional.”
Also, in another amazing turn of events, New Mexico was one of 7 states that submitted dueling electors to the Electoral College on December 14th. By doing so, this has the potential to invalidate Joe Biden’s claims to the presidency. On January 6th the official results will be certified. By submitting dueling electors in these 7 states, it creates a challenge that must be resolved in Congress where Vice President Mike Pence will preside over in the United States Senate that may give President Donald Trump a path to victory and re-election!
This election has caused us to pause and reflect on our 10 years of ministry in New Mexico. When we moved here a decade ago, our mission was uniquely focused to oppose late term abortion and expose New Mexico as the, “Late Term Abortion Capital” a designation we coined back in 2010 when we moved here after interning with Operation Rescue.
Our ministry efforts over the past 10 years ironically can best be summarized by The New Mexico Political Report, (a subsidiary of Progress Now New Mexico):
“New Mexico for nearly a decade has been the declared ‘mission field’ for some of the country’s most strident activists opposed to abortion. Bud and Tara Shaver, an activist couple with ties to Operation Rescue, relocated to Albuquerque in 2010 upon invitation from Father Stephen Imbarrato, a Catholic Priest. The Shavers publicly labeled Albuquerque the ‘late-term abortion capital of the world,’ centering many of their networked efforts on the University of New Mexico and the medical practice of abortion provider Southwest Women’s Options. With a stated goal of making New Mexico ‘abortion-free,’ the Shavers have continued to work with Imbarrato, whose rhetoric and activism overlaps theirs in both urgency and focus.”
Politics in New Mexico when we moved here, was characterized by those running for office not wanting to make abortion a major campaign issue, and once elected, an even more neglected priority. We have worked tirelessly the past 10 years to remedy this political travesty. Our efforts on this front, can best be summarized by this Cosmopolitan article regarding our efforts to solidify the dismal legacy of republican Governor Susana Martinez who took office in 2010 the year we moved here.
After ten years of “crying out in the wilderness” for political leadership to take a bold stand against abortion, our cries finally reached the heart of one political party in New Mexico in the 2020 election. Opposing late term abortion became a primary focus of the Republican Party both nationally and locally, in fact, Republican candidates in New Mexico vowed to work to end late-term abortion when elected. Even the state’s largest newspaper, The Albuquerque Journal used this issue as a litmus test for the US Congressional candidates, asking each of them this question,
“Do you favor or oppose limits on late-term abortion, and do you believe tax dollars should or should not be used to fund abortions?”
All of these facts have proved to us that we have been effective in changing the narrative in New Mexico politics. In spite of dismal election day results for local legislative races here in New Mexico (likely due to election fraud), the tide has certainly changed and the preservation of life has become a central theme.
Each local candidate that we had the privilege to work with on the campaign trail gave it their all and worked every political strategy to ensure a better New Mexico. They did what has never been done before and presented voters with a choice. The choice was for freedom over government control, life instead of death and real solutions to improve the lives of all New Mexicans.
Thank you for standing with us as we have also given it our all to stand with godly candidates for a better New Mexico during this election cycle. We were blessed to meet so many new people, support the candidates with door to door efforts, organizing campaign mailers and so much more. We do all that we can and leave the rest up to the voters and to the Lord. What happens next for us and for this state is truly in His hands.
Elections Have Consequences
The statement “elections have consequences” could not be more true as we await the conclusion of the 2020 election in New Mexico and across the nation. As President Trump mounts a legal challenge to the overwhelming treasonous election fraud, New Mexico has also been implicated.
According to Rudy Giuliani, Attorney for President Donald J. Trump,
“The state that we’re looking at that would surprise you is—we have a very, very significant amount of fraud allegations in the state of New Mexico.”
Now that our elections have gone big tech with voter machines tabulating our votes, Dominion Voting Systems has gained national scrutiny as another attorney, Sidney Powell, has made alarming allegations regarding this vote tabulating system,
“One of (Dominion’s) most characteristic features is its ability to flip votes. It can set and run an algorithm that probably ran all over the country to take a certain percentage of votes from President Trump and flip them to President Biden.”
“New Mexico uses Dominion Voting Systems to tabulate votes, the same software which has “glitched” in states like Michigan that changed thousands of Republican votes in swing districts to Democrat. It is unclear if similar irregularities happened in New Mexico elections, as just minutes after the polls closed at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, Joe Biden was prematurely declared the winner of New Mexico, despite zero votes being counted yet.”
One response to the massive voter fraud that has come to light in the aftermath of the November 3rd election, organic “Stop The Steal” protests have been organized across the country. On Saturday, November 7, 2020 Bud joined Fr. Stephen Imbarrato: The Protest Priest at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe along with Cowboys For Trump, Bikers For Trump and hundreds of fellow patriots to protest the open treason being conducted by anti American, anti-God, anti-Life forces determined to steal this election and to destroy our state and country.
According to the Santa Fe New Mexican,
“Some with guns and rosaries, protesters screamed claims of election fraud in New Mexico and across the country. Members of both Cowboys For Trump and Bikers For Trump also spoke, as did anti-abortion and Second Amendment activists.”

Abortion Free New Mexico launched an online petition campaign four months ago demanding that the University of New Mexico take down the offensive, “Heroes Work Here Banner.” This month we recieved a call from UNM Medical Group stating that due to the massive numbers of emails they are receiving it is overwhelming their inboxes and disrupting their email services internally! The tech department asked us to update the contact for our online petition and direct our concerns to the Communications Director of the UNM Medical Group.

Albuquerque, New Mexico- Abortion Free New Mexico launched an online petition campaign four months ago demanding that the University of New Mexico take down the offensive, “Heroes Work Here Banner.” This week we recieved a call from UNM Medical Group stating that due to the massive numbers of emails they are receiving it is overwhelming their inboxes and disrupting their email services internally! The tech department asked us to update the contact for our online petition and direct our concerns to the Communications Director of the UNM Medical Group.

Due to the overwhelming response to our UNM petition calling on the University of New Mexico to remove the offensive “Heroes Work Here Banner” we are asking you to DOUBLE DOWN, AND SIGN THE PETITION AGAIN AND SHARE THIS PETITION WITH OTHERS! This time, when you sign the petition, an automatic email will be generated and sent to the Communications Director at the UNM Medical Group, UNM President Garnett Stokes, and all of the UNM Regents!
The petition reads in part,
“We the People of New Mexico, citizens, taxpayers, University of New Mexico Alumni, are disgusted that the University of New Mexico, our state’s flagship institution, has publicly deemed abortionists heroes by means of a banner attached to one of its buildings with the message “Heroes Work Here”. This facility is located at 2301 Yale SE in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Heroes do not work at abortion clinics.
For an abortion facility, whose main purpose is to take life, to blatantly compare itself to hospital medical staff caring for COVID-19 patients is shocking and insulting. We do have medical heroes, saving lives every day while risking their own safety and well-being, however, they are not working at this abortion clinic. The UNM Center for Reproductive Health performs late term abortions through 6 months gestation!
The University of New Mexico is an institution of higher learning, in addition to removing the “Heroes Work Here” banner, our hope is that UNM will disassociate the university from this facility because the intentional taking of an innocent person’s life should never be associated with our university’s policies or mission.”….

Albuquerque, New Mexico- The statement “Elections have consequences” could not be more true as we await the conclusion of the 2020 election in New Mexico and across the nation. As President Trump mounts a legal challenge to the overwhelming treasonous voter fraud perpetuated across the country, New Mexico has also been implicated in massive voter fraud.
According to the Pinon Post,
“New Mexico uses Dominion Voting Systems to tabulate votes, the same software which has “glitched” in states like Michigan that changed thousands of Republican votes in swing districts to Democrat. It is unclear if similar irregularities happened in New Mexico elections, as just minutes after the polls closed at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, Joe Biden was prematurely declared the winner of New Mexico, despite zero votes being counted yet.”
As evidence of massive voter fraud has mounted in the aftermath of the November 3rd election, organic “Stop The Steal” protests organized across the country. On Saturday November 7, 2020 Bud joined Fr. Stephen Imbarrato: The Protest Priest at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe along with Cowboys For Trump, Bikers For Trump and hundreds of fellow patriots to protest the open treason being conducted by anti-American, anti-God, anti-life forces hell bent on stealing this election and destroying our state and country.
According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, “Some with guns and rosaries, protesters screamed claims of election fraud in New Mexico and across the country. Members of both Cowboys For Trump and Bikers For Trump also spoke, as did anti-abortion and Second Amendment activists.”
Moving Forward, Moving On?
This election has caused us to pause and reflect on our 10 years of ministry in New Mexico. When we moved here a decade ago, our mission was uniquely focused to oppose late term abortion and expose New Mexico as the, “Late Term Abortion Capital” a designation we coined back in 2010 when we moved here after interning with Operation Rescue.
Our ministry efforts over the past 10 years ironically can best be summarized by The New Mexico Political Report, (a subsidiary of Progress Now New Mexico):
“New Mexico for nearly a decade has been the declared ‘mission field’ for some of the country’s most strident activists opposed to abortion. Bud and Tara Shaver, an activist couple with ties to Operation Rescue, relocated to Albuquerque in 2010 upon invitation from Father Stephen Imbarrato, a Catholic Priest. The Shavers publicly labeled Albuquerque the ‘late-term abortion capital of the world,’ centering many of their networked efforts on the University of New Mexico and the medical practice of abortion provider Southwest Women’s Options. With a stated goal of making New Mexico ‘abortion-free,’ the Shavers have continued to work with Imbarrato, whose rhetoric and activism overlaps theirs in both urgency and focus.”
Politics in New Mexico when we moved here, was characterized by those running for office not wanting to make abortion a major campaign issue, and once elected, an even more neglected priority. We have worked tirelessly the past 10 years to remedy this political travesty. Our efforts on this front, can best be summarized by this Cosmopolitan article regarding our efforts to solidify the dismal legacy of republican Governor Susana Martinez who took office in 2010 the year we moved here.
After ten years of “crying out in the wilderness” for political leadership to take a bold stand against abortion our cries finally reached the heart of one political party in New Mexico in the 2020 election. Opposing late term abortion became a primaryfocus of the Republican Party both nationally and locally, in fact, Republican candidates vowed to work to end late-term abortion when elected. Even the state’s largest newspaper, The Albuquerque Journal used this issue as a litmus test for the US Congressional candidates, asking each of them this question,
“Do you favor or oppose limits on late-term abortion, and do you believe tax dollars should or should not be used to fund abortions?”
This fact alone proved to us that we have been effective in changing the narrative in New Mexico politics. In spite of dismal election day results for local legislative races here in New Mexico, the tide has certainly changed and the preservation of life has become a central theme. Each candidate that we worked with and helped with their campaigns gave it their all. These candidates worked every political strategy during their campaign to change New Mexico and presented their voters with a clear choice. The choice was freedom over government control, life not death and direct solutions to improving the lives of all New Mexicans.
The majority of New Mexicans are either too stubborn or ignorant to choose rightly or voter fraud is to blame for keeping our state under the bondage of the corrupt democrat party. Unfortunately, nothing will change with New Mexico’s dismalnational rankings, the prospective of stopping the governor’s unchecked tyranny or for pro-life legislation for at least the next two to four years.
Thank you for standing with us as we have also given it our all to stand with godly candidates for a better New Mexico during this election cycle. We were blessed to meet so many new people, support the candidates with door to door efforts, organizing campaign mailers and so much more. We do all that we can and leave the rest up to the voters and to the Lord. What happens next for us and for this state is truly in His hands.
In the two weeks leading up to our state’s and this nation’s most important election, we were deplatformed and our voice was censored off of some of the most influential social media sites. Our Abortion Free New Mexico YouTube channel was terminated without warning or notice!

The Lord is growing our family and our tiebreaker baby will arrive in April 2021. As you can see, our kids are super excited about this news. The month of October has been very productive and eventful. We are so blessed to serve as pro-life missionaries in a place where the gospel of Christ and a culture of life is so desperately needed. The goal of our ministry is to make New Mexico Abortion Free and supporting pro-life candidates helps us to reach that goal.
For over 90 years the democrat party has dominated our state and as a result New Mexico ranks last on every good list and first on all of the bad lists of national rankings. Thankfully, over 101 candidates are running who support our values and are putting their principles first. These candidates are finally giving New Mexicans a choice at the ballot box.
Jacob Candelaria, who has been an unopposed Democrat Senator for 12 years in Senate District 26, best illustrates the entitled mentality of the average democrat politician who has never faced a republican challenger. His campaign imploded spectacularly this month! Here are some highlights:
“Senator Candeleria’s childish and self-important behavior is unbecoming of the New Mexico Senate,”New Mexico GOP Chairman, Steve Pearce said in the statement.
Candelaria is vying for reelection to his West Albuquerque district against Republican challenger Manuel Lardizabal, who is running a tough-on-crime campaign that highlights his opposition to abortion and support for government austerity.
Pray for our friend Manny Lardizabal (who was one of the first people we met 10 years ago when we first moved to Albuquerque) to win his race on November 3, 2020. If Manny can pull it off with God’s favor, it will be one of the biggest upsets to the Progressive Democratic Party’s stranglehold on New Mexico!

Project Weak Link New Mexico
According to the abortion industry’s own experts, medical waste companies such as New Mexico Waste Recovery are the abortion industry’s weak link. The abortion industry is on record stating that, “We are all one incinerator away, or one incineration company away, from being closed.”
Abortion Free New Mexico is partnering with Created Equal to expose New Mexico Waste Recovery, the medical waste disposal company that is enabling the largest late-term abortion facility in the nation, Southwestern Women’s Options, located in Albuquerque, NM. In a recorded phone call to Chris Morton, Owner of New Mexico Waste Recovery, Tara Shaver gives him a chance to hear our perspective.
This month leading up to election day has by far been the busiest campaign season for us yet. We’ve had the privilege to organize volunteers, mailers and have spent time at voting locations during early in person voting.
Pictured above our family helped candidates Dinah Vargas HD13 and Lisa Meyer-Hagen SD12 to put up signs and by going door to door. Pictured below, we did the same for our friend Manny Lardizabal and have also utilized our truth truck in his district at voting locations.
We also put up signs and knocked on hundreds of doors for Kayla Marshall running in HD13. Below, we are outside the Hispanics for Trump office getting more literature. We need every seat to turn red on election day to ensure a super majority so that pro-life legislation has a chance of passing during the legislative sessions in 2021 and 2022.
As pro-life missionaries we have prayed with and for the candidates as well as helped them to reach voters in their districts. We need this win for an Abortion Free New Mexico and we are hopeful that New Mexicans are ready to change the direction of our state. It’s time to stop being the late-term abortion capital of the world and dead last on every good list.
40 Days For Life
This month we stood with our friends from Holy Child Parish in Tijeras for their assigned 40 Days for Life prayer day. Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion provider and operates 2 killing centers in New Mexico.
Please join us in praying that these two centers are closed and that moms will daily choose life for their babies.
Pre-Election Prayer Vigil at the New Mexico Capitol
Abortion Free New Mexico was asked to co-host a prayer vigil at the Santa Fe roundhouse, less than two weeks before election day. On October 24th we gathered with about 40 others who travelled from Gallup, NM to cover the capitol in prayer.
After many months of campaigning it was time to saturate our leaders, our current pro-life candidates and our state in prayer.
This month we also joined Michelle Garcia Holmes at the amazing South Valley church, Praise and Worship Center, to share about how important this election is. The sleeping giant, that is the church, must rise up and vote on November 3rd across this nation. Reports of victories coming next month…

Manuel “Manny” Lardizabal for New Mexico Senate District 26 was introduced at all 3 services this Sunday at Legacy Church located in his district. Legacy Church is the second largest Evangelical Church in the entire state of New Mexico. Manny received a standing ovation!
Over the weekend, Manny’s opponent, Jacob Candelaria (D-Albuquerque), known for his far-left extremism, took to Twitter to bully citizens peacefully protesting Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s public health orders in Santa Fe, as well as others on a variety of issues.
Michelle Garcia Holmes for US Congress (CD1) has run a very strong campaign to defeat Deb Haaland on election day. She was endorsed by the Albuquerque Journal, over her incumbent opponent, because she is the right candidate for the right time. Currently she is running a NEW campaign ad on TV this week.
Lisa Meyer-Hagen for Senate District 12 has a great campaign video out as well and has run a very good targeted campaign in her district. Lisa’s Senate district overlaps with Dinah Vargas’s House district and is home to 2 abortion facilities, UNM Center for Reproductive Health (UNMCRH) and Southwestern Women’s Options!
Dinah Vargas for House of Representatives District 10 has been joining us EVERY Friday for Faith To Action Friday. The University of New Mexico late-term abortion facility (UNMCRH) is located in her district and she is committed to working to close it permanently when she is elected! In fact, she made a campaign video this past Friday with our Faith To Action Friday family.

We hope that September was a very blessed month for you and your family. This month has been fruitful as we continue to work several strategies to make New Mexico Abortion Free.
One thing that struck us this month was just how far New Mexico has come over the last 10 years of our ministry. As we listened to candidates speak this month about their passion for life and the realization that until we address the abortion crisis our state is facing that nothing else will change. It confirmed for us that our work to educate and inspire others on the issue of abortion, is helping to transform New Mexico in many other relevant ways as candidates are stepping up to build every component of the culture of life.
Sometimes it is hard work and frustrating in the moment but we are now witnessing how important perseverance truly is. We really have the opportunity to change the direction of the late term abortion capital of the nation so that babies and their mothers are protected from the brutality of abortion.

A perfect storm created by formal medical and nursing board complaints filed against abortionist Franz Theard and his clinic manager, Gloria Martinez, in addition to Texas deeming abortions non-essential, has caused Hill Top Women’s Reproductive Clinic, an abortion facility in El Paso, TX to close its doors for good!
Exactly one year ago (September of 2019) Abortion Free New Mexico announced Hill Top as the weak link of the abortion cartel in New Mexico. Franz Theard, an abortionist of 36 years, has dominated the borderland region of New Mexico and Texas with his abortion businesses in El Paso, TX and right across the border in Santa Theresa, NM. While his New Mexico facility will remain open, it is an answer to prayer and the fruit of a lot of hard work done by the pro-life community, that his El Paso facility will no longer be killing innocent children.
Hitting The Streets, Mobilizing Districts Throughout Albuquerque, To Get Out The Vote for Pro-Life Candidates and President Trump.
This month we went door to door in an area of Albuquerque, that overlaps for pro-life candidates Dinah Vargas for HD10, Lisa Meyer-Hagen for SD12, Michelle Garcia Holmes for Congress CD1 and the conservative judges. These NM House and Senate Districts are home to Southwestern Women’s Options the nation’s largest late-term abortion mill and the UNM Center for Reproductive Health the UNM’s tax funded abortion mill. By flipping these crucial seats in November, it will have the greatest impact of building a culture of Life in New Mexico.
Tara continues to plan district meetings across Albuquerque to help mobilize get out the vote efforts for several pro-life candidates. Getting our base to the polls is crucial on November 3rd.
The “Women For Trump” get out the vote bus stopped in New Mexico, one of only 10 states visited during the tour. President Trump has invested so much into our state and his team is mobilized with statewide door to door and several other get out the vote efforts that are sure to turn New Mexico RED!
Press Conference: Sign The Petition, UNM Take Down That Banner
Abortion Free New Mexico will be held a press conference this month,September 11th at 10:30am at the UNM Center for Reproductive Health located at 2301 Yale Blvd. SE. Local candidates including the Garcia Holmes for Congress campaign, Dinah Vargas for House District 10, and Manuel Lardizabal for Senate District 26 will spoke and called for the University of New Mexico (UNM) to remove the “Heroes Work Here” banner from their free-standing abortion facility. This banner was placed on the building within the last few months as abortions were deemed essential services in New Mexico.
“The banner that currently hangs at the University of New Mexico’s free-standing abortion clinic is simply promoting a falsehood that abortionists are heroes. Just the opposite is true, abortionists have betrayed true medicine and take innocent lives everyday. Join us in contacting UNM President Garnett S. Stokes, UNM Medical Group and the UNM Regents by signing our online petition. When you do, an email will be sent to them requesting that the banner be removed. This is a small step in letting leadership at UNM know that the pro-life community expects more from the states flagship university,” stated Tara Shaver spokeswoman for Abortion Free New Mexico.

“We the People of New Mexico, citizens, taxpayers, University of New Mexico Alumni, are disgusted that the University of New Mexico, our state’s flagship institution, has publicly deemed abortionists heroes by means of a banner attached to one of its buildings with the message “Heroes Work Here”. This facility is located at 2301 Yale SE in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Heroes do not work at abortion clinics. For an abortion facility, whose main purpose is to take life, to blatantly compare itself to hospital medical staff caring for COVID-19 patients is shocking and insulting. We do have medical heroes, saving lives every day while risking their own safety and well-being, however, they are not working at this abortion clinic. The UNM Center for Reproductive Health performs late term abortions through 6 months gestation!
The University of New Mexico is an institution of higher learning, in addition to removing the “Heroes Work Here” banner, our hope is that UNM will disassociate the university from this facility because the intentional taking of an innocent person’s life should never be associated with our university’s policies or mission.”….
National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children Recap
On Saturday, September 12, 2020 at the burial location of two aborted babies, Ryan and Eve, 70 participants in Albuquerque, NM gathered for a time to remember and honor the victims of abortion throughout our nation.
This annual event was sponsored by Abortion Free New Mexico, and those in attendance were blessed to hear from passionate speakers such as Michelle Garcia Holmes for CD1, Lisa Meyer-Hagen for SD12, Dinah Vargas for HD10 and Mary Ingham for SD14.
These women are such an inspiration and an answer to prayer for godly leaders to rise up in New Mexico.

Albuquerque, New Mexico- On August 18, 2020, Abortion Free New Mexico published a report detailing information obtained from the New Mexico Department of Human Services related to Medicaid funded abortions in New Mexico from 2017 through 2019. In the report, we identified Dr. Steven Gough as the medical director for Women’s Specialists of New Mexico and reported that he had performed 8 abortions between 2017 and 2019.
Dr. Gough has contacted us and states that two of the statements contained in our article are incorrect. Dr. Gough tells us that he is neither the medical director of Women’s Specialists of New Mexico, nor has he performed any abortions.
Dr. Gough’s official title according to the Women’s Specialists of New Mexico website is, Medical Director (Cosmetics), – Physician.
We are happy to learn that Dr. Gough does not perform abortions. Apparently, the Medicaid information provided by the state was incorrect, and we apologize to Dr. Gough for the error.
As a result, we are also following up with a request for additional information from the New Mexico Department of Human Services to ensure that this does not occur in the future.

NEW MEXICO TAXPAYERS FUNDED 5,889 ABORTIONS AT A STAGGERING $791,106.50 FROM 2017-2019
Newly obtained Medicaid data by Abortion Free New Mexico reveals that from 2017-2019 state tax payers paid $791,106.50 for 5,889 abortions. The data was acquired through a public records request and also includes the names of 94 doctors, midwives and nurses who were paid by the state for the procedures. In addition to free-standing abortion facilities, nine hospitals were also paid for abortions through New Mexico Medicaid.
New Mexico is one 16 states that uses state tax dollars to fully fund abortions, because of the supreme court ruling in New Mexico Right to Choose/NARAL v. Johnson. The court ruled, in part, that the life of the unborn child is not compelling enough to outweigh the special interest of the mother. For this reason, New Mexicans are forced to foot the bill for low income women who qualify for New Mexico Medicaid and choose to have an abortion. It is a reality that infuriates many people of faith and conscience who would rather see their hard earned money used to promote life and provide legitimate help and resources to low income women with unplanned pregnancies.
Bud Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico issued the following statement,
“New Mexico tax payers should be outraged that our hard earned tax money from 2017-2019 was spent to fund 5,889 abortions at a staggering cost of $791,106.50! American’s fought to gain our independence from tyrants in 1776, in part, due to taxation (of 3 pence per pound on tea) without equal representation. How much more egregious is it that our tax dollars are being used to fund the killing of innocent children without our ability to refuse? The New Mexico Supreme Court ruling, New Mexico Right to Choose/NARAL v. Johnson foisted a tyrannical precedent upon the tax payers of New Mexico without any due recourse to remedy this unjust burden. Furthermore, with New Mexico ranked as one of the poorest states in the country, surely there are better ways that New Mexico tax dollars could be spent to help low income mothers rise up out of poverty then simply providing them with abortions. Instead of providing reasonable solutions, the New Mexico Supreme Court, unfortunately, has misappropriated our tax dollars to eliminate poor children through Medicaid funded abortions.”
Dishonorable Mentions
Southwestern Women’s Options, Albuquerque’s late term abortion facility, where abortions are performed through all nine months of pregnancy received the most money $340,773.61 out of the five abortion facilities in the state. Southwestern Women’s Options employs abortionists Shelley Sella who received $147,697.50 and Carmen Laundau who received $102,874.50 both of whom are at the top of the list in terms of abortion numbers and payments received. Sella is a resident of California who travels to New Mexico to abort babies in the latest stages of pregnancy. Landau lives in New Mexico, but received her medical degree from Communist Cuba. Abortionists at Southwestern Women’s Options performed 1,957 Medicaid funded abortions, each one representing a innocent child’s life.
The University of New Mexico- UNM, which has its own off-campus free standing abortion facility, received the second highest payments totaling $300,858.91 but actually performed 2,686 abortions, which was 729 moreabortions than Southwestern Women’s Options during the same three year period. The data showed many medical doctors that were affiliated with UNM, presumably residents, who have since moved on from New Mexico and now practice in other states. This confirms what Abortion Free New Mexico has stated for years, that UNM is at the heart of the New Mexico abortion cartel. Their abortion training and residency training programs are a catalyst for what the abortion industry hopes will be responsible for raising up the next generation of abortion providers.
Thankfully, the numbers of abortion providers continues to be on the decline. Not every OB-GYN doctor is willing to betray true medicine by offering abortions in their offices.
Planned Parenthood, which is the nations largest abortion provider, was next in line performing 761 abortions and receiving $67,408.98. Vivianne Clark, a registered nurse and Lucia Cies, who closed her private abortion practice in 2011, appear to be the primary abortion providers of the Planned Parenthood facilities that are located in Santa Fe and Albuquerque.
The Women’s Specialists of New Mexico practitioners that were reimbursed for 73 medicaid funded abortion procedures in addition to the physicians affiliated with LovelaceMedical group were the most surprising. One doctor alone at Lovelace, Regan Riley performed 70 abortions! Lovelace has been known to be more pro-life friendly and many were under the impression that abortions were not performed in their facilities. This medicaid data proves otherwise and should be cause for concern in the pro-life community.
Franz Theard’s [Hill Top] Women’s Reproductive Clinic in Santa Teresa, NM did not appear in this Medicaid report because they are a cash only abortion clinic and do not accept Medicaid clients.

In addition to hospitals, several midwives are performing abortions throughout New Mexico violating their mission to help mothers bring their babies into the world safely.
There were doctors that are not licensed to practice in New Mexico, from Colorado, Wyoming and the furthest coming in from New York who were reimbursed by New Mexico Medicaid for abortions they performed.
Abortion Numbers Statewide Are On The Decline
Over the course of the three year period, abortions that were covered by New Mexico Medicaid did decline each year. In 2017, there were 2,285 performed. In 2018, the number dropped to 2,109 and in 2019 was the steepest drop with 1,495 abortions that Medicaid covers. Tax payers can only hope that the numbers continue to decrease as more women choose life for their babies.
New Mexico tax payers deserve to know how their tax dollars are used as well as which practitioners in the community are willing to provide abortions. Each abortion takes a child’s life and this report should encourage the pro-life community to be even more diligent in working to build a culture of life in New Mexico.

For years, Theard has utilized his Santa Theresa, New Mexico location to circumvent Texas abortion laws by directing minors to obtain abortions without their parents knowledge across state lines. Abortion Free New Mexico exposed this with documentation obtained by an undercover investigation and recorded phone calls.
Abortion Free New Mexico’s investigations brought much scrutiny to Hill Top and prompted further investigations into these abortion businesses on both sides of the border. In another undercover investigation conducted by Abortion Free New Mexico it was discovered that Gloria Martinez, a registered nurse was performing illegal medical abortions. This was being done in defiance of Texas laws that state that only licensed physicians may perform abortion procedures, both medical and surgical. The formal complaint filed against Gloria Martinez with the The Texas Board of Nursing, by Abortion Free New Mexico, is currently ongoing.
Southwest Coalition for Life filed a separate Texas medical board complaint against Franz Theard in March of this year for circumventing Governor Greg Abbott’s order that deemed abortions non-essential. After Hill Top in El Paso could no longer operate, Theard was seen moving his surgical abortion machine across state lines to his New Mexico clinic. He subsequently injured a woman during an abortion procedure and she was taken to a Texas hospital for emergent care.
Abortion Free New Mexico was blessed to travel to Santa Theresa, NM and El Paso, TX last September for a public awareness campaign to expose Franz Theard and Hill Top’s grisly abortion business. Pictured below.
In addition to a public presence on the ground in El Paso, TX and Santa Teresa, NM Abortion Free New Mexico mailed over 2,000 postcards throughout the two borderland communities letting them them know about Franz Theard’s double life as an abortionist and OBGYN doctor delivering babies at TWO local hospitals!
“The closure of Hill Top Women’s Reproductive Clinic in Texas can only be attributed to the relentless efforts of the borderland pro-life community, with whom Abortion Free New Mexico was thankful to collaborate with, as well as the mounting pressure of two formal Texas complaints filed against Theard and his clinic manager Gloria Martinez. This compounded with the actions of both the Texas Governor and Lieutenant Governor to deem abortion clinics non-essential highlights how perseverance, formal complaints and strong political leadership matters and can permanently shut down abortion clinics and save lives,” stated Tara Shaver, spokeswoman for Abortion Free New Mexico.
Unfortunately, due to New Mexico’s lack of accountability by state agencies and the fact that the New Mexico Governor has deemed abortion facilities essential, Franz Theard has moved his abortion business across the border from Texas into New Mexico and will continue to kill babies until the leadership in New Mexico drastically changes.

Trump on election day November 3rd.
The Associated Press covered the event and interviewed Michelle Garcia Holmes who will represent our pro-life values and help advance President Donald Trump’s America First agenda in Washington D.C.,
“I believe the Senate has put together a very good package,” said Michelle Garcia Holmes, a former police detective who is running against first-term U.S. Rep. Debra Haaland in the 1st Congressional District the encompasses Albuquerque. “I think it’s time to start getting the American people back to work and start moving forward and jump back in to Trump’s economy.”

Back in 2018, the University of New Mexico rejected our request to properly burry 72 aborted babies that were harvested from Southwestern Women’s Options for experimental research.
The Associated Press reported back on September 10, 2018,
“The Albuquerque Journal reports Tara and Bud Shaver, of Abortion Free New Mexico, asked Dr. Paul Roth, chancellor of the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, to transfer 72 ‘aborted baby remains’ to an Albuquerque mortuary “so that they may receive a proper burial. Roth told the Shaver group that he couldn’t agree to turn over the “tissue,” which was anonymously donated by women who sought abortion care at an “outside facility.”
Unfortunately, the University of New Mexico did not see humanity in these children and refused to allow us to give them a resting place.
It is heartbreaking to realize that abortion victims are often simply disposed of, as Abortion Free New Mexico reported on last week. Companies like New Mexico Waste Recovery and Stericycle make a good living off of the discarding of these children as “biohazard waste.” We, however, must see these babies for who they are, precious masterpieces created in the image of God.

It is a humbling experience to work to obtain aborted babies and to arrange their burial. The pro-life community has worked diligently since before Roe v. Wade so that some of these precious pre-born babies have been given proper burial places all around the country. In a world where babies are killed behind sterile clinic doors, we often don’t think about what happens to them after their brutal deaths.
You may recall that Abortion Free New Mexico sought to provide a proper burial for aborted babies in the possession of the University of New Mexico, that had been harvested for medical experiments.
According to the Associated Press- AP [UNM HSC Chancelor Paul Roth]
“Roth told the Shaver group that he couldn’t agree to turn over the ’tissue,’ which was anonymously donated by women who sought abortion care at an ‘outside facility.’”
Unfortunately, the University of New Mexico did not see humanity in these children and refused to allow us to give them a resting place.
It is heartbreaking to realize that abortion victims are often simply disposed of, as Abortion Free New Mexico reported on earlier this week. Companies like New Mexico Waste Recovery and Stericycle make a good living off of the discarding of these children as “biohazard waste.” We, however, must see these babies for who they are, precious masterpieces created in the image of God. This Saturday, September 12, 2020 the pro-life community in Albuquerque will hold a solemn memorial service to remember America’s aborted children and to renew our resolve to always fight for them and to be their voices.
Albuquerque is one of only 54 sites in the nation where aborted babies are buried. Babies Ryan and Eve where obtained by and given a proper burial by Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, director of Life Ministries US.
In addition, we have a memorial headstone, at the same location, for babies that have been lost due to miscarriage and this year we will be remembering them as well.

On September 12, we seek that divine comfort as we mourn for the victims of abortion. Let us never forget their precious lives as we continue to work and pray for an end to abortion.
May we never forget the faithfulness, compassion and justice of our God. He is in fact doing amazing things even in the midst of the intense spiritual battle that is currently raging in this nation and across New Mexico. Good and evil, light and darkness has never been more clearer.
May we always be thankful for what He is accomplishing and always be eager to further His kingdom purposes. This month we are feeling encouraged in spite of the fear and dread that so many others are experiencing. We know how the human story ends and so we rejoice and continue to serve the King knowing that He will have the final victory.
New Mexico needs to start from the ground up district by district to ensure that our conservative candidates win on November 3rd.
Tara was recruited a few months back to help organize grassroots district meetings in order to educate and mobilize republicans on an ongoing basis. This month she was blessed to have the opportunity to organize meetings for our candidate friends Manny Lardizabal SD26 and Lisa Meyer-Hagen SD12 and Kayla Marshall HD13. In addition, we are also helping Dinah Vargas HD10 who is a fierce pro-life warrior. Tara is on her Pro-life Advisory Team.

Newly obtained Medicaid data by Abortion Free New Mexico reveals that from 2017-2019 state tax payers paid $791,123.32 for 5,897 abortions. The data was acquired through a public records request and also includes the names of 95 doctors, midwives and nurses who were paid by the state for the procedures. In addition to free-standing abortion facilities, nine hospitals were also paid for abortions through New Mexico Medicaid.
“As documented in previous reports, the University of New Mexico has a sordid reputation of targeting Hispanics for elimination by abortion thanks to UNM’s Eve Espey, Professor and Chair of the Department of OB-GYN, and Medical Director at UNM’s off-site abortion facility, the UNM Center for Reproductive Health. At a time when UNM is currently 13 million dollars in debt, let’s start with firing Eve Espey, defunding and closing the UNM Center for Reproductive Health late term abortion facility,” stated Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico
On Saturday, September 12, 2020, Abortion Free New Mexico will be joining national pro-life organizations for the 8th annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children, to honor the memory of over 60 million unborn victims of abortion.
Solemn prayer vigils will be held simultaneously at gravesites around the country where abortion victims have been buried, as well as at many other memorial sites dedicated in their honor.
