Dear Friends, 

New Mexico is a fierce battleground. For those of you who’ve been on this missionary journey with us over the years, you know how hard we’ve fought for the babies and worked to change the culture in New Mexico. This month we’ve witnessed how the Lord’s hand is on our efforts and how He has answered our fervent prayers. One thing in particular we have asked the Lord for is bold strong leaders who fear Him. He has provided a long list of candidates whom we have seen and heard stand up for the babies. We have also prayed for the evil of the abortion industry to be exposed and just this month the University of New Mexico, the heart of the New Mexico abortion cartel, announced publicly that they are halting their experimental research on aborted babies. All of this and more is moving New Mexico to embrace a culture of life, as God fights this battle for life with us. We can do nothing apart from Him.

On August 31st, Michelle Garcia Holmes, who is currently running for Lt. Governor of NM, initiated and hosted the 1st Annual Pro-Life Legislative Summit in Albuquerque, NM. Tara was blessed to be able to register voters and to share about our ministry with those in attendance. This event gave over 250 individuals the chance to hear from former, current and potential pro-life legislators first hand about the bills they’ve sponsored or plan to sponsor. This event was the first of it’s kind and will be followed up with trainings that will prepare the pro-life community for the upcoming legislative session in January.

Request Made to UNM: Release Aborted Babies Remains For Burial…

Abortion Free New Mexico made a request to Paul Roth, Chancellor of Health Sciences, at the University of New Mexico (UNM) for the 72 aborted baby remains that were mentioned in an Albuquerque Journal article this month announcing that UNM has halted their fetal tissue research program. According to a memo from Roth, these baby remains are in storage and he has not yet decided whether or not he will destroy them. Abortion Free New Mexico believes that these human remains are worthy of a proper burial.

The aborted baby remains are from the notorious late term abortion facility, Southwestern Women’s Options, which has been the sole provider of fetal tissue used by the University of New Mexico for experimental research. The ending of UNM’s fetal tissue research program is a first step in bringing UNM to a place where all lives are valued and protected. Abortion Free New Mexico urges UNM officials to make the right decision in putting these babies to rest.

“Abortion Free New Mexico has made arrangements with a local mortuary to receive these babies from UNM so that they may be buried with dignity and respect. It is our hope that we be allowed to honor these babies and finally put them to rest with a memorial service and burial. It is time that New Mexico start taking even the smallest actions that demonstrate the value of every human being,” stated Tara Shaver.

National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children in Albuquerque, New Mexico 

On Saturday, September 8, pro-life Americans throughout the country will gather at the grave sites of aborted babies and other memorial sites dedicated in their honor for the sixth annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children. 

Solemn vigils will be held at these sites to commemorate the more than 59 million children who have lost their lives to legal abortion since 1973, and to remind our society of the humanity of the unborn child. Please join us for the memorial service in our community:

We are so amazed to see God’s hand upon New Mexico. For years we have labored for the babies and set the foundation on which we now stand. We have called for leaders who will stand up for the most innocent yet ignored among us, and we have prayed and fasted asking the Lord to break demonic strongholds keeping abortion in our state. 

The upcoming November 6, 2018 New Mexico election will determine which way our state proceeds, whether it will become a blessing for life or not. The Lord has provided solid pro-life and pro-family candidates but they can’t win without our help. In the predominantly democratic state that New Mexico is it’s going to take all hands on deck.  We continue to work to let our neighbors know where the candidates stand on the things that matter most to us. FINED $1,000: FREE SPEECH ISN’T FREE IN ALBUQUERQUE

Albuquerque, NM- In 2015 when the liberal “progressive” Pat Davis ran for City Council in Albuquerque, we believed that voters in his district needed to know what he stood for and what a vote for him meant.

However, when you utilize your constitutional first amendment rights in Albuquerque it apparently comes with a stiff $1,000 price tag.

Abortion Free New Mexico’s counsel, Angelo Artuso, believes that the Albuquerque election code is not constitutional.

New Mexico Political Showdown Brewing in The Wild, Wild West!

Albuquerque, NM- A political showdown is brewing in New Mexico between anti-Trump, anti-America, anti-family, anti-life candidates known as “Progressive”  New Mexico Democrats vs. Pro-Trump, Pro-America, Pro-Family, Pro-Life candidates that are being labeled “Hard Right” New Mexico Republicans. The line that has been drawn in the sand as the dust clears after the New Mexico primary election could not be more clear and the URGENCY more stark! The battle between good and evil, right and wrong or the good guys vs. the bad guys is coming to the political big screen in living color here in New Mexico and will be raging until the November 6th general election.

Even the Associated Press is seeing the showdown that is brewing:

Her [Lujan Grisham] victory against two primary opponents set up a showdown between an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump on immigration issues and [Steve Pearce] a member of the hard-right Freedom Caucus in Congress who campaigned for Trump in 2016.

Dear Friends-

The month of April has been truly blessed as we continue to serve as pro-life missionaries in the late term abortion capital of the nation. While we are used to sending missionaries overseas, Bud and I remain acutely aware of how much Christ must be proclaimed in America. Our culture, our cities, our leaders all need to hear the good news of Jesus and what living for him looks like. This is why our family serves and daily strives to light up the darkness in New Mexico in a relevant way. Without life we have nothing, if a child isn’t born they don’t get to choose to live for Jesus on earth, they don’t get the chance to be loved, they are robbed of that which we can all take for granted. Thank you for standing with us for the precious gift of life that comes from the LORD!

Surprise! He’s a Boy!!!

Our family is blessed to announce that the Lord has added a new member to our family, Azariah Shaver! We anticipate his arrival to the outside world on or around October 11th 2018. Big sisters Tirzah (8yrs) and Moriah (3yrs) and big brother Eden (5yrs) are very EXCITED as are we!

The scriptures tell us that children are a reward from the Lord and that they are a gift. It is an amazing journey to experience the life of a child in your womb and to consider how intricately the Lord knits them together with such purpose.

As with all of our children, we pray that our second son grows up to surrender his life to Christ. Please join us in praising Yahweh for Azariah and for the blessings a new life brings into the world.

Great Turnout to #ProtestPP in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Albuquerque, NM- Albuquerque, New Mexico joined 149 locations across the Nation in 39 states to protest Planned Parenthood…the nation’s largest abortion provider.

In Albuquerque more than 75 people joined in solidarity through prayer and protest to stand for LIFE, and in opposition to their hard earned tax dollars being spent to subsidize a failing child killing industry that more and more Americans reject.

Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico issued the following statement,

“The effort to defund Planned Parenthood has nothing to do with taking healthcare away from poor women and families. It’s about taking tax dollars away from the nation’s largest abortion chain. Until Planned Parenthood stops killing children they shouldn’t receive one more cent of taxpayer funding. We will continue to use our voices and every peaceful legal means necessary to ensure that we are not willfully complicit with the government sanctioned killing business of Planned Parenthoods across this nation.”

Abortion Free New Mexico Co-Sponsors HUSH Documentary Screening with Students For Life UNM

On April 16, 2018 Abortion Free New Mexico and Students for Life UNM hosted a FREE screening of the HUSH – Feature Documentary and held a Q&A session afterwards at The University of New Mexico – UNM.  This event was not Pro-Choice vs. Pro-Life… but PRO-INFORMATION!

THE HUSH DOCUMENTARY PROVIDES COMPELLING EVIDENCE OF THE FOLLOWING:  Preterm Birth & Breast Cancer Risk, Abortion & Premature Birth Studies, Abortion & Psychology Studies, Sex Selective Abortions and Female Infanticide, Late Term Abortion Significantly Increases Risk of Complications Versus Early Abortions

We extended an invitation to several pro-abortion student groups at UNM and even asked them to include a physician of their “Choice” for the Q&A session…but they only showed up to protest and steal ALL of our information off our table!

IRONICALLY the Director of HUSH, Punam Kumar Gill, is a Pro-Choice feminist who produced the HUSH film to begin a healthy conversation about how LEGITIMATE fact-based scientific research proving the harmful effects of abortion is being suppressed by the “Pro-Choice” community. She saw that the BIAS among her own base must be addressed if there will ever be a chance to truly #StartAHealthyConversation about abortion and women’s health.

Producers of  HUSHfilm.com, “In ‘Pro-Life’ circles, hearing about the negative effects of abortion is a common thing. Churches and Crisis Pregnancy Centres will tell you about the psychological trauma, potential for physical damage, and even breast cancer, that abortion may cause.  On the other hand, in ‘Pro-Choice’ circles, and at abortion clinics it is commonly told that the procedure is much safer than childbirth, that the psychological effects are the same as if you deliver the child, and the breast cancer connection is a closed case.  One way or another, someone is lying to women.” 

Tara Shaver issued the following statement,

“Abortion always ends the life of a child, but women have no idea how abortion will effect them in the years to come. The majority of ‘pro-choice’ proponents and abortion mills in this nation are not informing women of the true nature of abortion when it pertains to women’s health. This is why I applaud Punam Kumar Gill, the director, of HUSHfilm.com and the producers who had the courage and strength to go against the tide amongst her own ‘pro-choice’ community.

The information presented in HUSH is invaluable and relevant in today’s culture where abortion is used as birth control and is often the only choice that women with unplanned pregnancies are offered help for among the radicalized ‘pro-choice’ community.

I’ve witnessed this firsthand. A few months ago I took a teenage pregnant mother to her first OBGYN prenatal appointment at a University of New Mexico health clinic. That morning right before her appointment she had an argument in the waiting room with her teenage boyfriend and when we were taken back to visit with a doctor this mom was visibly upset. Pregnancy can be a difficult and emotional time for any woman, but how do you think the doctor responded to this situation?

Instead of providing positive reinforcement that this too shall pass, the University of New Mexico doctor immediately questioned if she wanted to keep the baby and assured her that she still had options and could terminate the pregnancy! If life throws the smallest curveball at a young mom who is pregnant the ‘pro-choice’ world tells her that having an abortion will somehow remedy her situation. However, all the abortion will do is rob her from indescribable joy and potentially leave her scarred both physically and emotionally in ways that are never explained to her beforehand.

When women are 20 and have an abortion they don’t think about how it will negatively effect their physical or mental health when they are 30, 40 or 50. All women need to unite together and stand for the truth about how abortion profoundly impacts those who obtain them. I proudly stand with those like Punam who are willing to use their voice for what is best for women despite any presuppositions.”

Dear Friends- This month, our prayer and fasting campaign extended from New Mexico into Texas, the epicenter of legalized child killing in America and of Curtis Boyd’s child killing empire! Sometimes it seems that evil continues to triumph especially in such a corrupt state like New Mexico. However, we witnessed two breakthroughs that we believe can be attributed to the concentrated prayers and fasting of many over the past 5 weeks. We received a call from a relative of Curtis Boyd who is praying and fasting for him and the removal of the generational curse that Curtis Boyd’s legacy of death has brought upon her family. We also received confirmation that Boyd is under investigation by the New Mexico Medical Board!

Thank you for standing with us for the babies and for seeking the Lord through prayer and fasting as we ask Him to break the strongholds that are keeping abortion in New Mexico. We know from Psalm 37 that there is no future for the wicked and we look forward to the day when there is no future for Curtis Boyd nor any abortionist in our state to kill babies who are created in the image of God.

This month, Tara was in Dallas, Texas with Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, helping to train the next generation to take ownership and lead the charge to end abortion in America- in the very city that this injustice began. The Dallas federal court case known as Roe v. Wade brought us abortion on demand. Dallas is also home to Curtis Boyd’s other abortion mill that he opened and operated illegally PRIOR to the 1973 Supreme court ruling! This camp could not have been more timely, as pressure mounts against Curtis Boyd not only in New Mexico but also in Dallas, Texas, as the Survivors took to the streets of Dallas after receiving top notch pro-life training. It was a blessing for Tara to speak at this training camp and be a part of what the Lord is doing to end abortion throughout this nation.

BREAKING: Curtis Boyd Under Investigation by New Mexico Medical Board

We received confirmation from the New Mexico Medical Board (NMMB) this month that they have launched an investigation into the death of a local Albuquerque woman who died on February 4, 2017 as a result of complications suffered during a late term abortion performed by Curtis Boyd.

Curtis Boyd owns Southwestern Women’s Options, the largest late term abortion center in the country, which is located in Albuquerque, NM. An undercover investigation done by Abortion Free New Mexico exposed that at Southwestern Women’s Options a woman can obtain an abortion up to 37 weeks of pregnancy for $17,000. Curtis Boyd has readily admitted on national television that he knows that he is killing babies.

The letter from the New Mexico Medical Board dated March 2, 2018 addressed to Tara Shaver states in part,

“[The] New Mexico Medical Board received your complaint against Curtis Boyd, M.D. on 12/18/2017, and was forwarded to the Executive Committee for their review and determination on whether or not a formal investigation is warranted. The Board’s Executive Committee have reviewed the complaint and have determined that the allegations contained in it warrant further formal review to determine whether the licensee is in violation of the Medical Practice Act.”

Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue issued the following statement,

The fact that the very liberal NMMB is pursuing an investigation into Boyd’s possible violations of the Medical Practice Act validates Shaver’s concerns and ours about his negligent conduct,” said Newman. “Keisha Atkins deserves justice and her family deserves closure. We are cautiously hopeful that this new investigation will accomplish both.”

Albuquerque, NM- As we conclude this united prayer and fasting campaign to end abortion in New Mexico, trusting the words of Jesus (Matthew 17:14-21) that some deeply entrenched demonic strongholds can only be cast out, “except by prayer and fasting.” Over the past 7 weeks we have seen droughts broken, the desire to break generational curses from a member of Curtis Boyd’s family, confirmation of an investigation by the New Mexico Medical Board into the abortion related death of a local woman at the hands of late term abortionist Curtis Boyd, this effort has crossed the border from New Mexico into Texas the birthplace of abortion and the birthplace of Boyd’s baby killing empire. We believe strongholds are being broken by the Lord as we have prayed and fasted together in this united effort!

One thing that is sorely lacking in New Mexico as we move forward is the need for bold pro-life leadership in state government. This week we stood in solidarity with Congressman Steve Pearce as the pro-life candidate for Governor which represents a positive shift that even local media recognizes as significant. As we wrap up this initial prayer and fasting effort we want to make sure that what has been cast out as a result of these efforts is not replaced with that which is more evil as is described in Matthew 12. This relative called us with an apologetic heart for what Curtis Boyd has brought to our state and had been led by the Lord, while she has also been praying and fasting, to reach out to us! God is so good, His timing and plans are perfect. This week we’d ask that you pray for this relative as she joins us in our united effort of prayer and fasting as she seeks the Lord to break the generational curse that Curtis Boyd’s legacy of death has brought upon her family.

New Mexico Election Rundown 2018: We Can’t Lose Any More Ground This November

As we work to make New Mexico an abortion free state where every pre-born child is valued and protected, we are acutely aware of the implications of the upcoming November election. New Mexico continues in a dismal direction as we rank lowest in the areas that are most important. New Mexico is second to last in child well being, the worst state in the nation to raise a family and was found to be the worst run state in the nation.

It’s important that we don’t lose any more ground, the progressive liberals in New Mexico want nothing more than total control of our state and that will dig us into an even deeper hole.  Abortion Free New Mexico worked hard to get Michelle Garcia Holmes on the ballot for Lt. Governor and she is joined at the top by Steve Pearce who is running for Governor. Thank you to everyone who signed petitions and gathered signatures for her. Michelle and Steve Pearce are running unopposed on the Republican ticket to lead this state with the conviction of their principles.

As a family, this month we attended the opening of the Republican statewide candidate headquarters. We were so blessed to meet many of the candidates running for office who want to stop playing politics and turn things around for New Mexico. Tara also shared a table with Michelle Garcia Holmes at the Republican Primary Convention. The takeaway from this event is that the New Mexico Republican Party is not what it used to be when we made New Mexico our mission field 7 years ago. The party has unified collectively to become a group of people that are vocally pro-life, pro-family, pro-faith and are committed to working for the people of our state. In our 7 years of ministry in New Mexico we have never attended a Republican event because we were too busy holding RINO/PLINO’s (Republican/Pro Life – In Name Only) accountable for their complacency and inaction. We welcome this positive change that is clearly fruit of our labor over the years that has truly paid off!

Our sense is that the tide is shifting in New Mexico and if we unite together to help get like minded people of conviction elected that our state will move in a positive direction. New Mexico will no longer be known as a place of corruption, late term abortion and violence. Your voice and your vote matter. New Mexico needs positive change with leaders who fear the Lord and will work to restore justice for the babies. This past week we joined our prayers with fellow pro-life Americans across the state of New Mexico and around our country to cry out to our Lord in repentance for 45 years of innocent bloodshed spilled all across our nation. On this 45th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court Ruling (January 22, 1973) we must ask ourselves what more we can do to reverse this 45 year curse.

Wednesday, January 17, 2018: This past week we joined hundreds of fellow pro-life marchers for the Annual 2018 Sanctity of Life Awareness and Unity Day up in Santa, Fe to stand for life and send a strong message to the New Mexico legislature to enact laws to protect the most vulnerable community residing in New Mexico, those living in the sanctuary of their mother’s wombs.

In addition, we were not there simply to march, we were also there to work and help get Pro-Life candidate, Michelle Garcia Holmes​ on the republican ballot for lieutenant governor of New Mexico for the 2018 upcoming election!

Tara Shaver, who represents that organization, stated, “This undercover investigation reveals that Abortionist Warren Hern in Boulder, Colorado is willing to perform an abortion at 32 weeks of pregnancy for $25,000 with virtually no questions asked. Late term abortions have no place in a civilized society, yet in America they are performed on healthy women carrying healthy babies all across this nation. This should be a wake up call for Americans who refuse to believe that this is happening.”

The call was the eighth in a series of calls that Priests for Life will continue to commission across the nation. The previous calls so far were made to the Southwestern Women’s Options clinic in Albuquerque, NM, where our callers successfully made abortion appointments at 25, 30, and even 33 weeks.

Pro-Life ministry is about saving babies lives by revealing the light and love of Christ to their mothers in their darkest hour, when it seems to them that an abortion is their only option.

There are many ways to save the lives of pre-born children, and for four years of our ministry here in Albuquerque we ministered to women seeking abortions at local abortion centers.

This month we were reminded of what our ministry is all about when God brought two mothers, that we have helped over the years, back into our lives.

Only the Lord knows just how many lives are saved when Christians are faithfully present at these places of death but there is nothing more beautiful than to see the fruit of your labor when visited by the moms who chose life because of your presence.  We continue to be blessed by still receiving phone calls and emails from mothers in need and also encouraging thank you’s from moms that we have had the privilege of ministering to over the past 7 years.

Tara had the privilege of presenting awards to two high school students that participated in the 27th Annual Christian Heritage Speech Competition. We assigned the 11th grade topic which was “How to make your community Abortion Free?” These students did an amazing job at honing in on some really important things we can do to make our communities abortion free.

Dear Friends,

This month we released an undercover video that gives a rare look from inside the nation’s largest late term abortion facility, Southwestern Women’s Options. This video is 5 minutes long and combines raw footage of dialogue with clinic staff and also exclusive interviews with the undercover investigator detailing her unique account of what it was like to go inside of a late term abortion center while pregnant at 37 weeks gestation.

Felicia, the undercover investigator, had been given two genetic tests that were positive for Trisomy 18, also called Edwards’ Syndrome, that causes severe developmental delays due to an extra chromosome 18. This made Felicia the ideal operative for going inside Southwestern Women’s Options to uncover just how far into the pregnancy they would perform a third trimester abortion. During her consultation with Susana Estorga, a clinic employee, Estorga counsels Felicia and prepares her for the 4 day long procedure that begins with an injection into the womb through either the abdominal wall or vaginally. This injection causes a fetal heart attack that stops the baby’s heart over the course of 4-6 grueling hours. She is also told that the procedure will cost $17,000 and was instructed on how to obtain New Mexico Medicaid to have the procedure paid for with state tax dollars.

Two days after what would have been Felicia’s “fake” abortion appointment, at 38 weeks of pregnancy, she went into labor at home and later delivered a healthy baby boy, Jonah.

October 2017 Newsletter

Dear Friends,

We have had an incredible month of service to our Lord in many ways here in Albuquerque. Two things that have resonated with us throughout everything we have done is how important perspective and principle are. Having an eternal/kingdom perspective is so vital as we live Christian lives and as we fulfill God’s purposes in our ministry. This has become abundantly clear as we have waged battles on various fronts this month. It is so easy to think with a worldly mindset and to put what we think God can use for His glory into a little box. It reminds us of how an angel responds to Sarah in Genesis 18:14,

“Is there anything too extraordinary for the Lord?”

The Lord can use small efforts, big efforts and even those that seem trivial or out of the ordinary to accomplish mighty things through His faithful servants. Our hearts and minds must be sensitive to how the Holy Spirit is moving and we must allow the Spirit to guide our every step of faith for the glory of God.

This month we have also had to cling to doing what’s right based principle instead of popularity. Proverbs 11:3 tells us that,

“The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.”

As God’s people we must exhibit and preserve our integrity even in the face of attacks and those who seek to undermine our efforts. God’s word and your prayers have built us up this month as we move forward toward an Abortion Free New Mexico. We have confidence in knowing that our perspective is kingdom focused and that our allegiance is to the God who has made us and called us to this important work of saving lives. Thank you for standing with us.

Albuquerque was one of three locations nationwide to participate in the Red Rose Rescue on September 15th.

In Albuquerque, New Mexico two faithful sidewalk counselors decided to set aside the arbitrary boundary outside local abortion centers and peacefully entered the University of New Mexico Center for Reproductive Health abortuary and gave a red rose to a client waiting inside. In addition, the client was lovingly offered life affirming alternatives to abortion. The University of New Mexico is a publicly funded institution and is currently under criminal investigation by the New Mexico Attorney General’s office.  No rescuers were arrested in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In Light of Abortion Patient Death, New Mexico Rep. Pearce Seeks Federal Investigation

Excerpt from a report by Cheryl Sullenger, Operation Rescue

Rep. Steve Pearce has sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions seeking an investigation and prosecution of the University of New Mexico and its partner, Southwestern Women’s Options, the largest full-term abortion facility in the U.S. Pearce’s letter expresses urgency for a Federal investigation.

Pearce was especially troubled about the February 4, 2017, death of Keisha Atkins from a botched late-term abortion she received at Southwestern Women’s Options.

“On February 4, 2017, a woman tragically died at SWWO facilities after receiving a late-term abortion. This raises more questions about the reckless behavior of the SWWO. In 2016 alone, the National Abortion Federation reportedly referred more than 200 Texas patients to New Mexico for abortion related procedures. With hundreds of women flocking to New Mexico to receive these dangerous procedures, something must be done” Pearce wrote.

Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico uncovered the death of Keisha Atkins, 23, and obtained her UNM autopsy report that wrongly indicated Atkins’ pregnancy – not her abortion – caused her death. However, an analysis of the autopsy report clearly shows that determination was a cover-up of the truth that Atkins died a painful, panic-filled death as the result of complications that could only have resulted from the late-term abortion.

New Undercover Recording

On August 14th we released a new video with Priests for Life taken from an undercover phone call placed to Southwestern Women’s Options late term abortion facility that clearly explains how second and third trimester abortions are performed in New Mexico.

“Late term abortions are not as some say, ‘only done to save the lives of women’, they are performed to make Curtis Boyd huge profits at the expense of precious human lives,” stated Tara Shaver, Abortion Free New Mexico. In this call a $8,500 fee is quoted for an abortion at 25 weeks of pregnancy. A Manta.com search of Curtis Boyd in Albuquerque shows that his abortion business has an “annual revenue of $1 to $2.5 million.”

“Americans continue, in large majorities, to reject late term abortion,” said Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life. “We will continue to expose it by undercover phone calls, so that the existence of these procedures, and their utter barbarity, will be indisputable in the minds and hearts of more and more of our fellow citizens, and that they will take action to end abortion.”

“Southwestern Women’s Options uses an injection to stop the hearts of pre-born babies and a concoction of several medications to artificially induce labor in women and then sends them away to wait for their child to be born dead. This precarious cocktail of medications is and has resulted in serious life threatening complications. In May 2011 a patient at Southwestern Women’s Options was rushed to the emergency room after her uterus ruptured during the very same procedure documented in this call.”

We received an anonymous tip from someone who cared very much about a 23 year old woman who died during a late term abortion procedure. Through a public records request we confirmed this woman’s death and what appears to be a coverup of what really happened to her at Southwestern Women’s Options.

The deaths of women during abortion are inevitable and happen more often than one might think. Women come from all across the world to Albuquerque for late term abortions and those considering coming here deserve to know the dangers they face in doing so.

We were blessed to work with Operation Rescue to uncover and alert the public to this abortion death.

The New Mexico Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice is the organization that is responsible for facilitating contact between clergy and abortion patients…

Two liberal pro-abortion news outlets, The Santa Fe Reporter and The New Mexico Political Report worked together to do a profile piece on late-term abortionist and owner of SWO, Curtis Boyd, with the twist of highlighting his religious convictions titled: A Moral Choice: As pressure mounts, faith sustains veteran ABQ doctor who performs third-trimester abortions

We were interviewed and our work over the past 7 years was featured in the article as the “mounting pressure” opposing him,

“Bud and Tara Shaver, a Christian couple who describe their strong-willed advocacy against abortion as a calling from God, represent the face of Boyd’s opposition, an ever-present foil…the Shavers came to New Mexico with the goal of shutting down Boyd’s newly expanded practice. The timing of the article was perfect as we had just released our undercover report highlighting the “Unholy Alliance” being utilized at SWO and it confirmed the religious component being used to market late-term abortions. It was also an opportunity to look into the psyche of Boyd who rarely does public interviews. The article mentioned that he is 80 years old and nearing the end of his career…

20th Annual Survivors Camp San Francisco, California

(Ten years after attending our first Survivors camp we returned as trainers)

The article mentioned above that profiled Curtis Boyd included the pivotal role that Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust had on us early on in shaping our, “strong willed advocacy against abortion.” The article was published on July 19th the same day we were flying out to San Francisco, CA for the Survivors 20th annual pro-life training camp! Ten years after attending our first Survivors camp we returned as trainers.

It was a blessing to be in the company of seasoned pro-life veterans and to be a part of how God is moving in California and through the young people who are the future of the pro-life movement. We shared our own story of how we became pro-life missionaries and how to create an abortion free community.

A common theme that Survivors leaders, Jeff White and Cheryl Conrad imparted to the campers was that the work we are doing to close down abortion mills is absolutely vital to ending abortion once and for all. That was very encouraging to hear and affirms the work we are doing with your help to make New Mexico abortion free.

We spent 6 days in the trenches with passionate young people visiting UC Berkeley, the San Francisco commissioner meeting to oppose the opening of a mega Planned Parenthood and even helped to save a life outside of a Planned Parenthood abortion mill.

This month we continued to press forward with our focus of exposing the Abortion Landscape in New Mexico by releasing Parts 3 and 4 of our 6 part series, #NewMexicoTrue Campaign. Our previous reports revealed that New Mexico is the land of unrestricted abortion lacking any oversight or accountability. Fr. Stephen Imbarrato was quoted in a Washington Times article covering our reports,

“There are no restrictions, no oversight, nothing going on with regard to abortion in New Mexico other than that the Democratic Party totally supports it, and the Republican Party, for the most part, is condoning it,” Father Imbarrato said. “So we have been doing everything necessary to try to bring this to the national spotlight.”

Our prayer is that as we continue peeling away the layers of the New Mexico abortion cartel that our leaders will take heed of the information and act boldly on behalf of the babies.

#NewMexicoTrue Campaign

This month in our #NewMexicoTrue Campaign reports, we looked at the Santa Theresa, New Mexico abortion clinic, Hill Top Reproductive Clinic.

In part 3 we exposed Franz Theard a Texas abortionist who has set up his abortion mill 11 miles across the Texas border in Santa Teresa, NM. He is using his mill to evade Texas laws regarding waiting periods and minor access to abortion.

Theard is another example of abortion providers in New Mexico who ignore the best interests of minors who seek out an abortion. Minors are vulnerable and often the victims of sexual abuse, Franz Theard is enabling sexual predators when he purposefully takes advantage of New Mexico’s lack of common sense laws and circumvents the reasonable limitations of Texas.

We also cited violations that Theard was found to have at his abortion mill that included doing pregnancy tests and RH blood tests without proper licensure and failing to follow the manufacturer’s instructions when using these tests. Theard is also a practicing OB/GYN in the state of Texas, where he delivers babies on the days he’s not aborting them.

Late Term Abortion Exposed 

Our work with Priests for Life continued this month to bring national awareness to late term abortion. In part 4 we looked deeper at Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO), the nations largest late term abortion facility, and exposed just how arbitrary the standard is for determining which baby lives or dies.

This call combines two earlier calls and adds new details, including that mothers so far advanced in their pregnancies should not be aborted in stand-alone clinics like SWO – although they are – and that the availability of third-trimester abortions depends on the “comfort” level of the abortionist.

“The bottom line is that SWO is willing to terminate a disabled child in spite of their own admission that late- term abortions shouldn’t be done in an outpatient clinic because they pose significant risks to mothers,” said Tara Shaver, spokeswoman for Abortion Free New Mexico.“The ‘comfort’ zone of the abortionists at Southwestern Women’s Options, which appears to be based on an arbitrary eugenic standard, is ultimately allowing them to decide which babies should live or die.

Baby or Biohazard Waste?

In this undercover recording we exposed how the late term abortion facility Southwestern Women’s Options arbitrarily differentiates between a baby and biohazard waste when discussing the disposal of the remains of the babies terminated at their facility.

Southwestern Women’s Options tells a woman posing as 33 weeks pregnant, that they have a working relationship with Riverside Funeral Home, which will come to the abortion facility and collect the baby remains for cremation after the abortion. Staffers at both the funeral home and the abortion facility refer to the dead unborn children as “babies.”

However, the option to cremate the remains only applies to disabled babies. When another woman, 25 weeks pregnant, inquires about what happens to her healthy baby after her abortion, she is told that the remains are considered biohazard waste and that the whole baby is incinerated.

“To think that Southwestern Women’s Options is pitching cremation to women seeking late-term abortions in order to somehow buffer killing disabled babies while the other babies are incinerated as biohazard waste is schizophrenic,” said Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico. “Cremation, by definition, refers to what is done to a dead person’s body. It’s imperative that we, our leaders and every sane person speak out and act on behalf of these human babies who are being brutally killed each day in New Mexico.”

“Anyone with a conscience will be horrified by these recordings,” added Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life. “They speak of fingerprints, toe-prints, baby clothes, photos, and funeral homes. These are things associated with human beings, and children who — once they’re born — we all agree should be protected. What is revealed here is an ongoing prejudice, discrimination, and oppression towards the children in the womb, and it must end.”

When  Fr. Stephen Imbarrato invited us to come to New Mexico in 2010, our goal was to lay a foundation that would ultimately lead to New Mexico becoming abortion free. Fr. Imbarrato asked us to come and expose those who are perpetuating pre-born child killing in this state. Over the past 7 years, we have done just that! In addition, we have accomplished many other things that have laid a foundation for our latest initiative and our ultimate goal, Abortion Free New Mexico!

In 2014, four years into our ministry here, the Abortion Free manual was published. It is written by Troy Newman and Cheryl Sullenger of Operation Rescue. Our work is even mentioned in it. Here we are with Cheryl at a church in Albuquerque this month introducing other Christians to a concept that is attainable with the proper tools and a never give up mindset!

Zechariah 4:6 is the perfect declaration for what the Lord wants to accomplish here: An Abortion Free New Mexico.

“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”

We have the tools and the Spirit of the living God that goes before us in this spiritual battle. Thank you for standing with us, for your prayers and for believing with us that evil does not have the final say here but the Lord does.

National Leaders Join us For Launch of Abortion Free New Mexico

On April 18th, we were blessed to have some of our closest friends and mentors join us to share about our pro-life journey and how God has blessed many of our efforts over the years.

We began our pro-life journey with a pro-life youth organization, Survivors. If it had not been for the training we received under the leadership of Jeff White and Cheryl Conrad we probably would not still be doing pro-life work. Being immersed into the fire from the beginning has instilled in us a passion and perseverance to continue on in the face of any opposition. We are forever thankful for Survivors and it was great having them share about our journey with them at our launch this month.

Cheryl Sullenger with Operation Rescue, was our keynote speaker and she shared with our audience the fruit of some of the projects we worked on while in Wichita. She also cast the vision for the model we will use to close down New Mexico’s abortion facilities through investigative research and more. We value her wisdom and all the work she does on a daily basis.

Our good friends and local Pastors The Lardizabal’s and Clarence Washington also shared as those who have stood with us from the time we moved here. They have seen us at highs and lows and always encouraged us to keep doing what God has called us to do.

Please pray that individuals, churches and others will catch this vision and become more involved in this effort.

BREAKING: NM AG “Aggressively” Investigating UNM & SWO

Albuquerque, NM – In a new, encouraging development, the office of New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas has confirmed to a group of pro-life leaders that an investigation of a complaint filed by Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico against the University of New Mexico (UNM) and Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO) is being “aggressively” pursued.

“We are aggressively working on gathering further information that will assist in our ongoing review of this matter,” stated James Hallinan, Communications Director for the Office of Attorney General Hector Balderas, in a written statement requested by Operation Rescue.

Maestas informed the group of leaders that the Attorney General’s office has sent “inquiry letters” to UNM and SWO requiring a “large amount of information to be produced” as part of the inquiry into alleged criminal conduct…

Exposed: 33 Week Late Term Abortion In New Mexico

Albuquerque, NM- In January of 2015 a 20 year old woman from Great Britain sought a destination willing to perform an abortion for her at 30 weeks of pregnancy… so that she could continue going to college. Did she have to go to Vietnam, China, or North Korea? No, she traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico to have her baby killed.

Why didn’t she have her late-term abortion in Great Britain? Because the international community has rightfully rejected barbaric late term abortions. Only 7 nations including China, North Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Canada, Netherlands and the United States of America still allow them.

Most Americans refuse to accept the assertion that late term abortions are performed here. Interestingly, late-term abortion is overwhelmingly rejected by 80% of American women! Even a majority of the “pro-choice” community is uneasy declaring their support for such a barbaric procedure.

Unfortunately, the majority opinion hasn’t translated into public policy…

Albuquerque, New Mexico is home to the nation’s largest late term abortion killing center, Southwestern Women’s Options and is considered the late term abortion capital of America, actually of the world. Late term abortions occur so regularly at Southwestern Women’s Options that late term abortionist Susan Robinson, who recently retired from SWO emphatically stated in an interview in 2014,

‘[Women] come from all over the United States and Canada and all over the world too; I mean you have patients who come to us from Europe, we have patients from Australia, we have patients from Afghanistan[.]”

But don’t just take our word for it that late term abortions actually occur here or even the word of a former late term abortionist…
