In October 1916, Margaret Sanger opened her first birth control clinic, which later expanded into the American Birth Control League which was renamed Planned Parenthood in 1942. They performed their first abortion in 1970 and have since become the nation’s largest abortion chain and foremost advocate of abortion on demand.

As Planned Parenthood turns 100, #ProtestPP confronted them with prayer and protest— held at their facilities throughout the United States on October 15.

This month the National Catholic Register published a timely comprehensive report about our efforts here in New Mexico:

“Congressional Investigation Documents University of New Mexico’s Use of Aborted Fetal Tissue: According to the report, university and state officials do not appear to be addressing the matter.”

Here is an excerpt from the National Catholic Register:

“Our research and the alarms we’ve been sounding over the years have finally paid off and turned into the panel investigating,” said Tara Shaver, a pro-life missionary with Protest ABQ, an Albuquerque-based pro-life organization.

“This has been a collective effort that has been building for years. The [Center for Medical Progress] CMP videos were really the true spark that lit this fire,” said Fr. Stephen Imbarrato: The Protest Priest, a pastoral staff member at Priests for Life who founded Protest ABQ. Father Imbarrato, [Tara] Shaver and others told the Register that pro-life leaders have been investigating the the University of New Mexico for several years. During that time, they said university officials stonewalled their public-information requests, even writing to the Archdiocese of Santa Fe to complain about their pro-life activities.

“Ultimately, it’s in God’s hands,” [Tara] Shaver said. “Despite the corruption and apathy in our state, we’re very appreciative that the select panel has taken an interest in what’s happening here. Unfortunately, most of our leaders and lawmakers really don’t care.”

Albuquerque, NM- Catholic Senator, Michael Padilla (D) hosted a fundraiser “honoring” Maggie Toulouse Oliver, a radical pro-abortion candidate running for New Mexico Secretary of State. Protest ABQ peacefully protested this event to send the message that politicians should make their faith a priority over their party.

This is a major problem that we face in New Mexico, politicians who separate their faith from their political ambitions. How does a self proclaimed Catholic justify honoring and raising funds for someone who stands in opposition to core tenants of their own faith? Only if they care more about their party than their faith! Pro-lifers don’t raise money for candidates that support Planned Parenthood and we definitely would never honor politicians who are radically pro-abortion. Instead, we pray for them and insist that they abandon their political policies that are immoral and grieve God’s heart.

Corrales, NM – There are three key seats in the New Mexico Senate where radical pro-abortion democrats need to be replaced to gain a republican majority in hopes of finally passing pro-life bills next session.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, “Democrats have a 24-18 majority in the Senate. If Republicans can win three Senate seats, that would create a numerical tie. Republican Lt. Gov. John Sanchez, who presides over the Senate, would give his party a tie-breaking vote.”

Protest ABQ has honed in on four races where Democrats are up against challengers:

– Corrales-area Senate District 9 seat: Pro-Abortion Catholic, John Sapien is running against Republican challenger Diego Espinoza.

– Belen-area Senate District 29 seat: Pro-Abortion Catholic, Michael Sanchez is running against Republican challenger, Greg Baca

– Albuquerque Senate District 13 seat: Pro-Abortion Catholic, Bill O’Neill  is running against Republican challenger, Blair Dunn

– Albuquerque Senate District 15 seat: Pro-Abortion United Methodist, Daniel Ivey Soto is running against Republican challenger, Eric Lyon Burton

Pro-Abortion Catholic, John Sapien (D) of Corrales vs. Pro-Life Catholic challenger, Diego Espinoza (R)  is the race we focused on this weekend. John Sapien had plans to hold a fundraiser this weekend at a constituents residence. Protest ABQ joined by Fr. Stephen Imbarrato with Priests for Life peacefully protested for two consecutive days (Saturday and Sunday) in the vicinity of the event. After our protest on Saturday, we were notified that Sapien CANCELLED his fundraiser scheduled for Sunday…but Protest ABQ showed up anyway!

We encountered very appreciative people who were unaware of Sapien’s pro-abortion position and the fact that he accepted $1000 from the nations largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood. Education and awareness are key in addition to much needed accountability. A representative for Diego Espinoza (R) even came out to thank us personally! He loved our signs!

Planned Parenthood desperately wants John Sapien to win and to keep a pro-abort Democratic strangle hold over the New Mexico Senate! This year Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountains gave a $1,000 donation to Sapien’s campaign.

One of New Mexico’s greatest hurdles and strong holds are Catholic politicians who are placing their party before their faith. We’ve been told by some that they are personally pro-life and yet they champion and promote radically pro-abortion politicians and take money from pro-abortion lobbyists. We are praying that this year New Mexicans will vote according to their faith and with the priority of protecting their pre-born neighbor in mind.

Fr. Stephen Imbarrato: The Protest Priest with Priests for Life issued the following statement, “John Sapien has been putting politics before his Catholic faith for years. Taking money from Planned Parenthood and supporting the Planned Parenthood agenda is formal cooperation with evil. Think of it this way…according to recent revelations, Sapien accepted Planned Parenthood’s profits of ($1,000) amounting to more than a dozen assorted preborn baby organs!”

PRAYERS ARE STILL NEEDED FOR NEW MEXICO

Washington D.C. – Yesterday we asked for your prayers regarding a hearing that was held today by the Congressional Select Panel on Infant Lives. At this hearing panel members were planning to consider releasing the deposition transcript of University of New Mexico (UNM) abortionist Eve Espey from May 11th of this year.

Unfortunately, Chairman Blackburn’s resolution to release this deposition was removed from the agenda without explanation. Our hope is that this resolution will be considered in the future and that the public will be able to hear from Espey herself about her involvement in UNM’s radical abortion agenda.

In 2011, we released our first exposé revealing Eve Espey as a key player in UNM’s involvement in abortion expansion as the medical director for UNM’s free standing abortion facility. In subsequent reports we documented her role as and an avid proponent of eugenics by targeting hispanic women in Mexico and Central America through the World Health Organization. In 2014 we reported that she received Planned Parenthood’s Margaret Sanger award for her diabolical efforts and was also promoted by Paul Roth to chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB-GYN) at UNM.

New Mexico taxpayers foot the bill for Eve Espey’s annual salary of over $485,000 as she promotes and perpetuates a radical abortion agenda at UNM.

Washington D.C. – Operation Rescue reports that the U.S. House Panel on Infant Lives announced yesterday that it is voting tomorrow Wednesday, September 21, 2016 to release a May 11, 2016 deposition resulting from their investigation of the University of New Mexico – UNM.

Back on June 23, 2016 the Select Panel issued a criminal referral to New Mexico Attorney General, Hector Balderas recommending that his office investigate potential violations of New Mexico law stemming from the partnership between the University of New Mexico and Southwestern Women’s Options (SWWO). Protest ABQ filed a formal criminal complaint with the Attorney General’s office over a year ago based on a SWWO consent form that Tara Shaver obtained revealing that SWWO was utilizing the babies body parts that they killed for medical research. It was revealed during the course of the U.S. House Panels investigation that SWWO was the sole provider of baby body parts for UNM’s inhumane and possibly illegal experimental research.

Well over a year later, we have yet to be given any answers…

Please pray that we can finally start receiving some answers on Wednesday!

Albuquerque, NM – Catholic Senator, Michael Padilla (D) hosted a fundraiser “honoring” Maggie Toulouse Oliver, a radical pro-abortion candidate running for New Mexico Secretary of State. Maggie Toulouse Oliver is a proud supporter of Planned Parenthood. In a post on Facebook back on January 28, 2015 Maggie stated, “I started my day with Planned Parenthood of New Mexico at their Breakfast of Champions honoring our state’s leaders who agree that politicians should not interfere with women’s personal health care decisions. It was great to see old friends and to hear Alex Sanger — grandson of Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger –speak.”

Maggie also supports grisly late term abortions, which are prevalent in New Mexico because there are no laws restricting them. Two California abortionists, Susan Robinson and Shelley Sella fly into New Mexico each month to kill these babies up to the day of birth. Carmen Landau is the third late term abortionist who resides in Albuquerque and practices with a medical license that she obtained in communist Cuba. Late-term abortionist Carmen Landau hosted a fundraiser for Maggie Toulouse Oliver back in April which Protest ABQ also protested.

Senator Padilla confronted us and stated that he did not understand why we were protesting and asked for clarification. When he was told that our protest was the result of his support for Maggie Oliver he reiterated that he did in fact support her. Then he was given further clarification, in case he was unaware, of Maggie’s support for abortion. Upon hearing this, it all became clear to him why we were there, but it made no difference to him. In fact, this triggered politician instead, called the police claiming that Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, a priest, had hit him in the face with a sign!

In contrast, however, the owner of the restaurant where the event was hosted told us that she didn’t know that this fund raiser was for a pro-abortion candidate. After she realized that it was, she had her staff pray over EVERY plate sent out…and then she came out to join us in Protest!

As we left Senator Padilla told us that our protest was, “not cool” because he was in fact “pro-life”…really! We urged him to distance himself from pro-abortion politicians and to support pro-life bills if he wanted our support.

Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, the Protest Priest with Priests for Life issued the following statement, “Today was the National Day of Remembrance of Aborted Children and the pro-abort politicians of New Mexico, many of them Catholic held a fundraiser. I find it interesting how a Catholic State Senator can support abortion at every opportunity and still call himself pro-life. But we saw today how easily those who support abortion can lie about other aspects of their lives.”

Fr. Stephen Imbarrato sponsored Albuquerque New Mexico’s National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children by holding a Mass at the Holy Innocents Chapel where an aborted unborn baby, Eve, is interred. Project Defending Life is located directly next door to Planned Parenthood. After Mass, Fr. Imbarrato processed over to Planned Parenthood for prayer which was the SECOND protest of the day which he led in opposition to pre-born child killing. Planned Parenthood supporters counter protested this prayer vigil holding signs stating, ‘God Bless Planned Parenthood” and “Pharisee.”

Injustice taints and forever mars the ability to play the moral card. History records and reveals to the world what was done on behalf of those forever scarred.

When you think of a father convicted of a heinous sexual crime that he did to his child, we don’t really care if he provided food, shelter, a good education, or even brought that child to church. One act of injustice forever mars his ability to claim that he was a good father.

When you think of Christians who lived in the deep South in America during the time of slavery who owned slaves, we don’t really care if they fed the poor, did other acts of service, or attended church regularly and tithed. One act of injustice forever taints their legacy.

When you think of church leaders who lived in Nazi Germany during the Holocaust, we don’t really care how many gospel presentations they proclaimed, how many baptisms they did; we care about what they did or did not do on behalf of the Jews being led to the slaughter. One leader’s heroic actions and words of opposition to the injustice during that generation live on and history remembers Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

In the light of injustice we get clarity. All that matters is our participation with our generation’s injustice and whether we are striving to end that injustice. History is the ultimate arbiter.

The greatest injustice of our generation is abortion! 54 million (+) children have been legally slaughtered in the name of “choice.” 65% of those obtaining abortions claim to be Christian/Catholic[i]! Whatever is being said or done from our churches and church leaders is not producing much of a difference for the children being led to the slaughter!

In light of the empty sidewalks, deafening silence from the pulpits, and pews filled with post-abortive women and men (1/3rd of American women over 45 have had at least one abortion[ii]), history is already documenting the American church of the 21st century! In the light of injustice the legacy we leave behind will be forever tainted and determined by what we do and have done to end this barbaric killing!

Posterity will not ask you about your giving, how many times you read through the Bible in a year, how many missionaries you sent around the globe, or how many soup kitchens you started. You will be asked what you did to end the open genocide being perpetrated across the street from our churches and in the midst of our communities!

How to Start a Pro-Life Ministry at Your Church

Start a prayer group at your church. Seek to build a core group of people who are pro-life to pray about the direction of a ministry to the pre-born and their mothers within your church.

Educate. Host a pro-life presentation/training with local organizations and/or pastors who are already involved in local pro-life ministry to find out what is taking place with regard to abortion in your community.

a. These presentations could be tailored to a midweek Bible study, men’s or women’s Bible studies, or a Sunday or midweek whole church service.
b. If there are no local organizations start one! If your pastors are not involved pray for them and meet with them to encourage their involvement and support!

Become Active. Decide how active you want your church to be and what types of events/activities you want to participate in. There are many opportunities to get involved such as:

a. Praying at an abortion clinic once a week or once a month or more.
b. Volunteering at or open a local pregnancy resource center.
c. Hosting a series of pro-life “apologetics/sidewalk ministry” training classes.
d. Post-abortion healing training.
e. Donate to local pregnancy centers. Host a clothing/diaper/formula drive.
f. Outreach at local universities or other outside venues.
g. Come up with your own ideas to reach out, educate, and serve the pregnant women in your community.

Find out about other local/national Pro-life organizations.

a. Sign up for e-mails and newsletters to stay informed about their events.
b. 40 Days for Life

The main reason to start a pro-life group in your church is to make a difference in your community. There are many ways to get involved. Together we can end abortion one woman, one child, one day at a time! The end to abortion begins with the churches in America!

Rescue those being led away to death;

This month a University of New Mexico (UNM) insider shared an email with us from Paul Roth, Executive Vice President and CEO of UNM Health System that sheds light on his apparent deplorable management of the UNM Health System.

This leak came days after a video recording of Paul Roth admitting to UNM faculty dissecting aborted baby brains during a summer youth workshop that was captured by a local pro-life advocate. This video has sent shockwaves through the pro-life community and has even penetrated the hearts of average Americans because of the callous disregard Roth displays on the video.

The UNM whistleblower revealed Paul Roth’s desperate attempt to do damage control when he sent an email to Health System Leaders summarizing extremely low rankings the hospital has been given.

Our informant, an insider at UNM came to us out of frustration and to reiterate what we have been saying for years, “Dr. Paul Roth is not running the hospital very well. Roth should be fired for how poorly UNMH is doing as a hospital.”

God continues to work in our midst, to show that UNM as a whole is so deeply entrenched in the culture of death. Like Planned Parenthood and every other entity killing babies, they have no redeeming quality until they stop the shedding of innocent blood.

UNM Performs Incomplete Abortion- Results in Inpatient Admission

A second confidential informant came forward this month with information about a 27 year old woman who suffered an incomplete abortion at the University of New Mexico Center for Reproductive Health (UNMCRH) abortion facility.

The next day this woman was admitted to UNM Hospital with an elevated white blood cell count, rapid heart beat, fever and abdominal pain.

According to the Mayo Clinic’s website, Patient “A” exhibited symptoms that warrant a sepsis diagnosis.

Despite the fact that this patient had a compromised immune system UNMCRH placed performing the abortion above Patient A’s overall health and well being.

The abortion was completed, an IUD was inserted and the patient was sent on her way. She inevitably ended up in the hospital where she spent 5 days and required a D&C to remove what was left inside of her, her baby’s remains.

Planned Parenthood is Really Getting Desperate

Planned Parenthood has purchased a billboard that is strategically placed right before the overpass where we protest each week. This location is also in the vicinity of two strip clubs.The fact that they have made this purchase between $5,000-$15,000 is nothing less than confirmation that our overpass protest presence is effective and that they are desperate.

Albuquerque, NM- A University of New Mexico (UNM) insider has shared an email with Protest ABQ from Paul Roth, Executive Vice President and Chancellor for Health Sciences, CEO, UNM Health System and Dean, School of Medicine, that sheds light on his apparent deplorable management of the UNM Health System.

This leak comes days after a video recording of Paul Roth admitting that aborted baby brains were dissected during a summer youth workshop hosted by UNM that was captured by local pro-life advocate Marcie May. This video has sent shockwaves through the pro-life community and has even penetrated the hearts of average Americans because of the callous disregard Roth displays on the video.

The UNM whistleblower revealed to Protest ABQ Paul Roth’s desperate attempt to do damage control due to his apparent mismanagement of UNM Hospital. On August 12, 2016 Roth sent an email to Health System Leaders summarizing extremely low rankings the hospital has been given. An excerpt from Roth’s email reads,

“But this past year we – and the public – saw some sobering rankings. A C – up from a D – in Leapfrog, landing in the first percentile for physician satisfaction, mediocre quality and patient safety scores at UHC, the loss of accreditation for our Dermatology residency program. And now, a one-star rating (out of five) at UNMH from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.”

During the correspondence with the UNM insider, they state without mincing words,

“I’m not sure if you know, but UNMH was ranked very low by Medicaid, Medicare and other hospital ranking programs.  UNMH has a 2% physician satisfaction rating. UNM dermatology lost their residency program.  Dr. Paul Roth is not running the hospital very well. Roth should be fired for how poorly UNMH is doing as a hospital.”

The UNM insider’s frustration with Paul Roth’s leadership continues,

“UNMH is losing a lot of doctors.  As stated, they have about a 2% doctor approval rating.  They scored very low by many organizations and had to bring a company in, costing millions of dollars, to try and make UNMH a better hospital.  Dr. Roth, based on how badly UNMH is scoring, should be fired, just like any other CEO doing a very poor job.”

The company that UNM paid millions to is called the Studer Group, which works with organizations to “achieve and sustain exceptional improvement in clinical outcomes and financial results,” to come and assist UNMH in turning things around. Documents regarding Mission: Excellence and the Studer Group have been removed from UNM’s search portal.

Further down in Roth’s email to UNM Health System Leaders, Paul Roth lectures them by saying,

“We must strive to behave professionally, with empathy and caring…”

From The Daily Wire: “Can I ask you to repeat what you said before about the workshop with UNM fetal remains with high school students?” May asks Roth. “Yes, we had a faculty member who obtained some tissue, and during one of these summer workshops, uh, dissected I think one or two fetal brains,” answered Roth, unapologetically.   The dean did not disclose where the fetal remains were originally sourced. He also failed to show a glimmer of remorse.

Roth is clearly not doing a very good job of running UNM Hospital and as 2nd in command of the entire health system he has been given a pass for far too long.

“Paul Roth receives a salary of $656,500 paid for by New Mexico taxpayers. How is it that he maintains his position of CEO at UNM when both insiders and those outside looking in can see the problems as well as the atrocities he has brought upon UNM during his tenure? Could it be politically motivated that New Mexico legislators cover for him and support him despite the mounting evidence of his diabolical and deplorable leadership?” stated Bud Shaver, Executive Director of Protest ABQ.

Continuing Impact of a Deeply Flawed Ruling

Sid Gutierrez is from Albuquerque, New Mexico and currently lives about 100 yards from where he grew up. He was a Distinguished Graduate of the USAF Academy with a BS in Aeronautical Engineering. He earned an MA in Management from Webster University. He is retired from the Air Force at the rank of Colonel where he flew the F-15, F-16, T-38 and many other aircraft while serving as a fighter pilot, test pilot, and instructor pilot. Albuquerque, NM- On August 16, 2016 The UNM Health Sciences Center held a meeting during which they discussed the recent scandal regarding their use of aborted babies for experiential research. In addition to having UNM student residents involved in this inhumane and controversial research, documents obtained by the U.S. House Select Panel on Human Lives recently revealed that UNM conducted a  summer youth workshop where aborted babies brains were dissected!

New Mexico Alliance for Life was tipped off about the meeting late Monday night (Aug. 15th) and stated in their press release afterwards, “The UNM Board of Regents met today as well, and taxpayers showed up to ask more questions about these troubling practices. UNM Regents and UNM President Bob Franks were urged to be transparent with the public.”

Marcie May reporting for The HUB of New Mexico was able to ask Paul Roth directly about the controversy surrounding a UNM Summer Youth workshop where baby brains were dissected.

Since 2011 members of Protest ABQ have worked to expose and connect the dots regarding the University of New Mexico’s involvement in experimental abortion research and practices in collaboration with notorious late-term abortion killing center, Southwestern Women’s Options. We have long concluded that UNM is in fact the heart of the abortion industry in New Mexico and have exposed that Paul Roth is the driving force of their radical abortion agenda.

In addition to killing babies and using their body parts for experimental research, numerous women have been seriously injured during botched abortions at UNM’s own publicly funded free-standing abortion clinic, UNM Center for Reproductive Health. In fact, on August 16, 2016 the same day of the meeting conducted by the UNM Health Sciences Center, Operation Rescue reported on a horrendous abortion injury documented by a confidential informant to Protest ABQ.

Albuquerque, NM- A confidential informant has come forward to Protest ABQ with information about a 27 year old woman who suffered an incomplete abortion at the University of New Mexico Center for Reproductive Health (UNMCRH) abortion facility. The next day the woman was admitted to UNM Hospital with an elevated white blood cell count, rapid heart beat, fever and abdominal pain. According to the Mayo Clinic’s website, Patient “A” exhibited symptoms that warrant a sepsis diagnosis.

On May 17, 2016 Patient A arrived at UNMCRH 19.6 weeks pregnant for a two day D&E abortion procedure. On this day laminaria was inserted into Patient A’s cervix for artificial dilation despite the fact that she wasn’t feeling well and her lab results showed that her white blood cell count was alarmingly high at 21.7. The website Perinatology.com states that a normal wbc count for a pregnant woman in the second trimester is between 5.6-14.8. An elevated white blood cell count is an indication that a patient has an infection, disease or weakened immune system. Patient A was already at a high risk for infection.

Despite the fact that this patient had a compromised immune system UNMCRH placed performing the abortion above Patient A’s overall health and well being. They proceeded with the second trimester abortion procedure, and dismembered the 19 week old pre-born child. After the procedure an IUD was inserted, as is the practice of many abortionists under the guise of preventing future pregnancies for up to five years. UNM has a special research interest in this protocol and women have told Protest ABQ that they are ruthlessly pressured into having IUD’s inserted after abortions and after live births at UNM Hospital.

The very next day, after a restless night of sleep and increasing pain Patient A sought medical attention at UNM Hospital, where physicians that attended her suspected post abortion endometritis (an infection of the uterus) and an incomplete abortion. Patient A’s IUD was removed. She spent three days on antibiotics but on the fourth day her temperature spiked again and the UNM Family Planning Service division was consulted to provide a D&C to suction out any remaining fetal parts and or tissue.

All surgical abortion procedures are very invasive and opens a woman’s body up to germs and bacteria. It is completely unacceptable and may even constitute medical malpractice, that UNMCRH performed an incomplete abortion, knowing that Patient A had a compromised immune system and then inserted an IUD. This is not the kind of “care” that puts the patient first.

On May 22nd she was scheduled for the operating room at UNM Hospital for the D&C and was then discharged the next day. It is likely that an acute infection of this kind will leave Patient A with significant uterine scarring that could prevent future pregnancies.

The University of New Mexico (UNM) has been plagued by scandals over the past few years due to its abortion involvement. UNMCRH utilizes medical residents in experimental research and also trains them to perform late-term abortions. In addition to Patient A, several women have been injured at UNM’s free standing abortion facility UNMCRH. 

In 2012 members of Protest ABQ reported that UNMCRH is no longer calling 911 for medical emergencies to ensure there isn’t a public record of how many injuries are actually occurring. Now in 2016, this state funded institution has been implicated with a criminal referral by a congressional panel regarding the use of aborted baby body parts and is currently under investigation by the New Mexico Attorney General.

Despite all of this, The University of New Mexico is still perpetuating a radical abortion agenda and New Mexico tax payers are involuntarily footing the bill for it.

Fr. Stephen Imbarrato: The Protest Priest with Priests for Life issued the following statement, “We know in the past that ambulances have been sent to UNMCRH on several occasions. Of course, that information is now being denied the public as is much of what The University of New Mexico does. What will it take for all interested parties (Regents, students, alumni, elected leaders) to wake up, speak up, and put a stop to a business that has been wounding women while making money aborting babies at every stage of pregnancy?”

For years Protest ABQ has been exposing the fact that New Mexico continues to be a state without any laws protecting pre-born babies because of the silent inaction of New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez and other leaders who continue to turn a blind eye hoping that this injustice will just go away. The University of New Mexico is the heart of the New Mexico abortion industry, and has been given cover by corrupt politicians in both parties.

In a recent interview Congressman Steve Pearce (R-NM) echoed the concerns of Protest ABQ about the lack of leadership at all levels of government in New Mexico stating, “I’m to the point where I’m saying that you must be approving of what is happening or you would be responding. New Mexico has evolved into the largest, the most abortion friendly state in the country right under our eyes and I for one do not think it’s appropriate.”

Everything we do in defense of life, whether we walk for life or march for life, counsel, pray, fast, witness, or standup for life, we should also do in protest of pre-born childkilling. Using the mantle of “protest,” always peaceful and prayerful, is what can unite us within the diversity of our work as well as also send the message that we have the collective “will” to finally end this holocaust in time definite.

The movement has known protests in the past, the most dramatic being the Operation Rescue movement. Today we have “ProtestPP.” Many groups protest on an ongoing basis as their charism. We need to build on this movement until we are unified enough and have the resolve to finally end this – with 5 years being the goal.

Albuquerque, NM- In an exclusive interview with The Hub of New Mexico, Congressman Steve Pearce takes on the baby body parts scandal happening in New Mexico head on. Without mincing words, the congressman talks about the lack of transparency within the University of New Mexico (UNM) and the silence of New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez and other leaders.

Congressman Pearce correctly stated that, “New Mexico has evolved into the largest, the most abortion friendly state in the country right under our eyes and I for one do not think it’s appropriate.”

According to Pearce, in 2015, members of the Select Panel on Infant Lives brought to his attention that “UNM is the only institution in the country that appears to be buying these harvested body parts from babies.” Pearce claims to have reached out to officials at UNM, including the new president of the Board of Regents Robert Doughty who mentioned willingness to meet with panel member in D.C. but never pursued such a meeting. Pearce also claims that Governor Martinez never reciprocated the panels efforts to work together which in turn led to the panel filing a criminal referral with New Mexico Attorney General, Hector Balderas.

Pearce expounded more about his involvement from the beginning and his efforts to get cooperation from UNM and Governor Martinez’s office by stating, “I think that the institution [UNM] has been willing to look the other way while things are happening on its watch. We’ve been very transparent all the way through with UNM, with the state of New Mexico, and the governor’s office and really with almost no response [from] them. So I’m to the point where I’m saying that you must be approving of what is happening or you would be responding.”

Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, The Protest Priest urges other state leaders to follow congressman Pearce’s leadership and to come out publicly about this matter stating, “Why aren’t we hearing from every pro-life elected official from the Governor, to the Speaker of the house, his Whip, pro-life state senators and house members about Balderas’ inaction? Where is the outcry from the elected pro-life community? It is the same silence that Pearce speaks of that has gotten us here! Silence about pre-born baby killing and all its effects is the same as condoning and consenting to it!”

In July 2015 Protest ABQ filed a formal criminal complaint with Attorney General Hector Balderas’ office regarding concerns that, according to his consent form, Curtis Boyd was harvesting aborted baby body parts at his late term abortion facility Southwestern Women’s Options and allocating them for medical experimentation without getting proper consent from his patients. That complaint set the stage for the recent criminal referral issued to Balderas’ office by the congressional panel on Infant lives.

In the wake an overflow of public outcry over this scandal in New Mexico, AG Balderas has asked that concerned citizens stop calling his office. When asked by The HUB of NM what to do moving forward and how to get AG Balderas to act Pearce responded, “First of all I would take his thing saying no more phone calls and I would begin to play that as a radio ad saying this is your Attorney General saying that he does not want to hear about the issue! Secondly, I would begin to work in the circles of the democrat party that are pro-life and say look, you’re going to have things that a congressional research committee believe have been infractions of the law and maybe you can be helpful’. At the end of the day I would be talking publicly not privately! Does the public believe that it has a valid nature for him to look deeper into it or is it going to simply become a political cover up? That frankly is the question.”

Protest ABQ along with New Mexico Alliance for Life have been attempting to get to the bottom of this over the past year.

The ABQ Journal published an article with our response to the Democrats accusation that we are extremists: Dems challenge allegations against UNM– “Tara Shaver of Protest ABQ, vigorously disputed Schakowsky’s characterization of their [group]. ‘Protest ABQ is a peaceful campaign committed to exposing abortion and to ending the atrocities committed against the most defenseless members of our community, those living in their mothers’ wombs. Democrats who believe that it’s okay to kill a baby in the womb up to the day of birth and then use their body parts for experimental research are the ones who have taken an extreme position.”

This month Bud (representing Protest ABQ) joined a coalition of the nations leading pro-life activist organizations led by Created Equal for #OperationRNC which included: Operation Rescue, Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, Citizens for A Pro-Life Society, Rev. I would like to posit what happened to Governor Susana and her fall from grace and offer two key considerations:

1. Governor Martinez put her national political aspirations before the needs of the good people of New Mexico.

2. In seeking such aspirations, she refused and failed to live up to her self-proclaimed mantle of being “pro-life and pro-family.”

It has been clear for the last several years, maybe for as long as she has been Governor, that Martinez has been advised by her handlers to avoid the hot button social issues, in particular, abortion. She followed this advice in spite of the reality that New Mexico has, for as many years, had the reputation of being the “Abortion Capital of the Southwest” and the “Late Term Abortion Capital of the Country.” Even pro-abortion advocates proudly call New Mexico the least restrictive, most woman and abortion friendly state in the country.

A little over one year ago, a young woman came to Southwestern Women’s Options in Albuquerque from the United Kingdom to abort her child 32 weeks into her pregnancy. And indeed she did. Just months ago, a woman from Texas came to Albuquerque to abort her twins 35 weeks into her pregnancy, a double abortion that Southwestern Women’s Options was more than willing to perform for tens of thousands of dollars. Thank God she went home and delivered the twins less than 2 weeks later.

Investigations by the Center for Medical Progress and LiveAction have exposed heinous activities by Planned Parenthood. Most recently taxpayer funded University of New Mexico and Southwestern Women’s Options have come under scrutiny for various activities by the US Congressional Select Committee on Infant Lives which was spurred on by information provided by national pro-life groups; Operation Rescue, LiveAction, ProtestABQ, and NMAFL.

And where has Governor Martinez been during her tenure as “pro-life governor of New Mexico?” Well myself and other pro-lifers met with her and her chief of staff a year after she took office and laid out the whole New Mexico abortion situation and cartel for her. What has she done since then? The good Governor has not only taken no executive or administrative action, she has not shown any leadership in helping pass pro-life legislation. On the contrary the Governor has been completely silent particularly on abortion as well as other social issues (same sex marriage and doctor assisted suicide); the most forceful (and now infamous ) quote of her tenure being, “if legislation protecting a fetus gets to my desk, I will consider signing it.” (emphasis mine)

What has prompted such silence, inaction, and half heartedness on the Governor’s part? Clearly, it has been her penchant to follow bad advice related to her aspirations for higher, national offices. Her lack of focus and concern for the issues facing the people of New Mexico caused her to make poor political choices. Her most glaring, long term failing has been her silence and being completely dormant regarding New Mexico’s abortion problem. This has cost her not only any reputation she may have had as being pro-life, but has exposed her nationally as being weak and lacking any leadership on the issue of pre-born baby killing.

New Mexico still has the same abortion reputation as it did 7 years ago, the only difference is that Governor Martinez has lost any credibility nationally on social issues, particularly abortion.

Let this Be a Lesson for the Future

“Those who hear the word of God and do not act on it are fools who have built their house on sand. The rains and the floods came and the wind blew and beat against it and came crashing down.”

The last three governors of New Mexico have clearly had higher political aspirations while they were in office. Gary Johnson is now the national standard bearer of the Libertarian Party. Bill Richardson always maintained a high national profile especially with the Clintons. Likewise, Governor Martinez believed she could also achieve long-term national prominence as New Mexico Governor. The significant problem in all of this is that NM has been and remains near the top of just about every “worst list” in categories related to economics, quality of life (especially for children), crime, and education. Again, New Mexico has always had its reputation for abortion. No effective pro-life, abortion restricting legislation has passed in decades in New Mexico in spite of the fact that every surrounding state has had significant success in these areas. How do these New Mexico governors, particularly “Silent Susana,” think their records deserve national recognition? The people have finally caught on.

Future candidates for governor of New Mexico take heed! The days are over when the people of New Mexico are going to tolerate a governor who has their eyes, heart, and mind elsewhere. I, for one (and I know many others) am dedicated to insuring that any future gubernatorial candidate is focused on the problems of our state and I for one (and there are many others) believe and am convinced that problem number one is the unbridled, unfettered, unregulated, tax-funded pre-born baby killing cartel in this state that attracts clients here from all over the country and the world. Abortion has been and is one of New Mexico’s cottage industries. The reality is, though, that “abortion is bad business” for New Mexico.

Any future candidate for governor is going to have to forthrightly declare that they understand the serious and sorry reputation we have relative to pre-born child killing and then clearly delineate how they intend to change this unacceptable and deplorable situation.

Bud Shaver, executive director of Protest ABQ issued the following statement, “Leaders in New Mexico can not expect things to turn around here without first addressing pre-born child killing head on and take steps to end it. Surely the women and children of New Mexico are worthy of leaders that will seek a brighter future for our state and not simply seek their own political aspirations.”

The most prominent names being brought up as candidates for governor is Catholic Democrat Attorney General Hector Balderas and self proclaimed pro-life Republicans Lt Governor John Sanchez and Albuquerque Mayor RJ Berry.

I expect (and so do many others) that any Catholic running for Governor will abide by their Catholic faith which states that every procured abortion is inherently evil. Someone like Balderas cannot declare themselves Catholic, support abortion and expect to get elected. As for “self proclaimed pro-life” candidates? The days are over in New Mexico where words without actions suffice. Catholic and pro-life candidates must declare their pro-life policies; what legislation they intend to support and what executive and administrative actions they plan to take. I (and many, many others) will accept nothing less.

Governor Martinez’s effective term has almost expired and her political career seems to be gasping for air. New Mexico cannot afford another “Silent Susana.” As Abel’s blood cried out from the earth for justice, so does the blood of the aborted pre-born babies of New Mexico cry out for justice. We want a governor who cares about the pre-born babies of New Mexico (and the many, many women being wounded). The next governor will have to care about ending New Mexico’s reputation of “late term abortion capital of the country” and will have do something about changing that reputation.

On Monday July 18, 2016 Mark Harrington executive director of Created Equal issued the following statement, “‪#OperationRNC‬ Update: The Republican Convention delegates just ratified the party platform that included OUR language to defund PP. Small victory … but historic just the same. Thank you to all those who came out and joined us at our public events, funded our tow banner, and prayed for our efforts. Mission accomplished! Now let’s keep their feet to the fire.”

The Republican Platform now states:

“The Constitution’s guarantee that no one can ‘be deprived of life, liberty or property’ deliberately echoes the Declaration of Independence’s proclamation that ‘all’ are ‘endowed by their Creator’ with the inalienable right to life. Accordingly, we assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental right to life which cannot be infringed. We support a human life amendment to the Constitution and legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment’s protections apply to children before birth.

We oppose the use of public funds to perform or promote abortion or to fund organizations, like Planned Parenthood, so long as they provide or refer for elective abortions or sell fetal body parts rather than provide healthcare. We urge all states and Congress to make it a crime to acquire, transfer, or sell fetal tissues from elective abortions for research, and we call on Congress to enact a ban on any sale of fetal body parts. In the meantime, we call on Congress to ban the practice of misleading women on so-called fetal harvesting consent forms, a fact revealed by a 2015 investigation. We will not fund or subsidize healthcare that includes abortion coverage.”

In a press release issued by Operation Rescue, Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue stated, “We are celebrating today on the streets of Cleveland. We got everything we have asked for in the party platform. This shows that the pro-life movement is strong, influential, and here to stay until abortion is banned permanently.”

God continues to move in New Mexico in ways that only He can. A bright moment this month came when the US Select Panel that subpoenaed UNM and Southwestern Women’s Options announced that a criminal referral had been issued to our Attorney General based on their findings.

Essentially they believe that laws have been violated and they have asked local authorities to investigate further and yield justice where appropriate.

This could not be a coincidence and is just the God-given reinforcements we’ve needed for years. In fact 11 months ago we filed a formal complaint with the New Mexico Attorney General and never heard back from his office… Well they can’t ignore the U.S. Congress!

Praise God for his providence and please join us in praying that NM Attorney General Balderas does what is right and fulfills his duty.

The battle is far from over but with God on our side and through prayer and perseverance the NM abortion cartel will be exposed and held accountable.

This month Protest ABQ mailed postcards (front of the postcard pictured below) throughout the districts of several pro-abortion religious Democrat State Senators. These politicians, the majority of whom are Catholic, defy their faith by supporting pre-born child killing.

The constituents of these elected officials deserve to know that they are “putting politics before Jesus and his babies and this is a form of idolatry!” stated Fr. Stephen Imbarrato of Priests for Life (his quote was included on the back of the postcard). We cannot allow leaders in the state to ignore this reality that has so negatively impacted New Mexico. We have seen what that has gotten us, unrestricted abortion up to the day of birth and an apathy that is deafening. Please pray for the senators who so adamantly oppose human life.

Rejoice Despite Persecution

When you embark on God’s calling for your life He said persecution would come (2 Tim. 3:12), at least for us it’s been true. We’re a young Christian family simply living out a biblical worldview in a city which desperately needs faith AND action. However, we are labeled domestic terrorists and are accused of inciting violence, even though our ministry has been completely peaceful and free from violence on our part.

Over the years we have received death threats by mail, at our home and when we first began our pro-life ministry back in Arizona we were even fired from our job simply for being Christians and answering God’s call for our life.

This month however we are being evicted from our home because of all of the above misconceptions about who we really are.

Protest ABQ’s Response To SCOTUS Decision And Its Implications On New Mexico

While the SCOTUS decision undermines the good work of the pro-life community in Texas; in New Mexico, the late term abortion capital of the nation, the door still remains open to pass constitutional legislation regulating third trimester abortion facility Southwestern Women’s Options. We are determined to keep pressing forward and to make every effort to protect both mom and baby.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision, issued, [June 27, 2016] in Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt, while disappointing is not as sweeping as the media and pro-abortion advocates would have you believe.  Significantly, the decision appears to apply only to the regulation of “pre-viability” abortions.  As the age of viability continues to move closer to conception, the legal framework put in place by Roe v. Albuquerque, NM- Protest ABQ launched the second round of their postcard campaign today exposing religious pro-abortion Catholic Democrats. This batch of postcards have been mailed into the districts of New Mexico State Senators Jerry Ortiz y Pino and Jacob Candelaria. Round 1 focused on Catholic Senators Michael Sanchez, Bill O’ Neill and United Methodist Christian Senator Daniel Ivey-Soto. These postcards were mailed just before New Mexico’s primary election day on June 7.

Senators Ortiz y Pino and Candelaria have consistently opposed ALL pro-life legislation introduced into the Senate Public Affairs committee that Pino chairs. During the 2015 legislative session Senators Jerry Ortiz y Pino, Jacob Candelaria, Bill O’ Neil, and Daniel Ivey-Soto voted to kill SB 437, Physician Admitting Privileges for Abortions introduced by Sen. Craig Brandt (R). Protest ABQ was the sponsor of this bill that would have prevented abortion providers in New Mexico from ditching their patients on local emergency rooms where other physicians are left in the dark about the woman’s condition after an abortion related injury.

During the committee hearing for SB 437 Sen. Pino, cut off the testimony of expert witness Tara Shaver, Senior Policy Advisor of Protest ABQ when she attempted to introduce 911 calls made from Albuquerque abortion facilities. Sen. Pino objected and threw a “tantrum,” claiming that the 911 calls were “too emotional” even though the calls documented facts including severe injuries sustained by women from Albuquerque abortion clinics.

August 20, 2015 – Protest ABQ hosts #ProtestPP the largest protest of Planned Parenthood in New Mexico (over 600) and across the country (over 77,000). During the press conference Tara Shaver, Spokesperson for Protest ABQ spoke to the fact that, 5 state governors have de-funded Planned Parenthood and 13 states have launched criminal investigations into Planned Parenthood’s baby body part for profit scheme. All the while New Mexico fully funds abortion through state Medicaid with our tax dollars and abortion facilities are telling patients that their babies remains may be used in medical research which violates New Mexico law.

Albuquerque, NM- On June 23, 2016, the U.S. House of Representatives Select Investigative Panel issued a criminal referral to New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas with evidence that the University of New Mexico (UNM) and late term abortion facility Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO) may be in violation of local and federal law. Protest ABQ would like to thank the U.S. House Select Committee for their actions to hold the out of control and unregulated abortion cartel accountable in New Mexico. This has been an accumulation of the efforts of the collective pro-life community in New Mexico including New Mexico Alliance for Life as well as national pro-life groups such as, Operation Rescue. Protest ABQ is grateful that we have been able to contribute to this effort.

Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue issued the following statement: “This recommendation of criminal charges against UNM and Southwestern Women’s Options is the fruit of years of research and hard work done by a tenacious community of pro-life activists. This referral comes 11 months after Protest ABQ filed a formal complaint based on SWO’s 2012 and 2015 consent forms which exposed that donating fetal tissue was mandatory for all abortion patients. Documents obtained by the House Panel’s investigation reveal that in November 2015, shortly after Protest ABQ publicized that we had obtained their 2015 consent form, SWO updated the form to make fetal tissue donation optional (page 291).

After finally obtaining numerous documents through subpoenas from the University of New Mexico and Southwestern Women’s Options, it was determined by the panel that 42 U.S.C. § 289g-2, a federal statute which forbids the transfer of fetal tissue for valuable consideration caused major concerns in light of a close symbiotic relationship between the two entities. In addition to the New Mexico statute cited in the Panel’s letter to Attorney General Balderas, Protest ABQ’s criminal complaint has asked the Attorney General to investigate whether UNM and SWO are in violation of New Mexico’s Maternal, Fetal and Infant Experimentation Act, NMSA § 24-9A-1, et seq.

In a press release from Rep. Marsha Blackburn it was stated that, “Through its investigation, the Panel has discovered that personnel within UNM’s hospital and medical school have aggressively engaged in expanding abortion in New Mexico through the offices, personnel, and resources of UNM.” Highlighted activities by the panel include that UNM personnel, “expanded UNM”s role in training new abortion doctors” which has been ongoing since UNM’s involvement with the Ryan Residency Training Program. This program requires that residents practice performing abortions at various locations including Planned Parenthood and Southwestern Women’s Options, facts which the panel mentions in it’s plethora of findings. Members of Protest ABQ exposed this arrangement back in 2011.

Bud Shaver, Executive Director of Protest ABQ issued the following statement,

“Since 2011 members of Protest ABQ have worked to expose and connect the dots between Albuquerque abortion killing centers: University of New Mexico, Southwestern Women’s Options and Planned Parenthood. Findings have been submitted to the state’s highest authorities and investigations into unlawful and unethical conduct have been requested.

Protest ABQ and the pro-life community are grateful that the U.S. House Select Panel took the initiative to delve into the New Mexico abortion cartel and has referred it’s findings to the New Mexico Attorney General, Hector Balderas. Balderas should be ahead of the curve since Protest ABQ filed a formal complaint with his office 11 months ago. He now has more information to build his case and to move forward in a timely manner and we urge him to do so.”

Local Impact

The citizens of New Mexico have been concerned for many years about the use of state tax dollars that pay for abortions against their will and conscience. This fact should be a driving motivation for New Mexico’s Attorney General Balderas to conduct a thorough investigation into New Mexico’s abortion industry.

Documents obtained from the Select House Panel’s investigation further reveal that since 2010 New Mexico tax dollars have paid over 5 million dollars to Late-Term abortion killing center, Southwestern Women’s Options!  New Mexico Medicaid is directly funding the New Mexico Abortion Cartel.

Protest ABQ is encouraging New Mexico Republican Governor, Susana Martinez, Lt. Governor John Sanchez, Albuquerque Republican Mayor Richard Berry along with all of the GOP leadership of New Mexico to urge New Mexico AG Hector Balderas to act upon the U.S. Republican House Committee’s criminal referral. Protest ABQ submitted its formal complaint to Balderas almost a year ago, and it appears that the U.S. Congress is backing us up!

Fr. Stephen Imbarrato: The Protest Priest of Priests for Life issued the following statement:

“I have been involved in New Mexico pro-life activism for the last 6 years as Tara Shaver of Protest ABQ and more recently Elisa Martinez of New Mexico Alliance for Life has investigated and exposed the abortion cartel in our state. It is heartening to see their pro-life efforts bearing fruit. I am calling on Hector Balderas to react immediately to the Select Committee’s letter and respond to the complaint that Tara and Protest ABQ filed 11 months ago. All pro-life groups in New Mexico need to continue to work to investigate and put pressure on the New Mexico abortion cartel until it collapses under the weight of its own evil.”

Albuquerque, NM- Protest ABQ has mailed postcards into the neighborhoods of New Mexico state legislators that were delivered to hundreds of homes this week.

Sen. Michael Sanchez (D), Sen. Bill O’Neill (D) claim to be Catholic, yet they consistently defy their Catholic faith. O’Neill has voted against every pro-life bill that has come before him in the Senate Public Affairs Committee. Sanchez assigns senate bills to their committees, which has prevented pro-life bills from floor votes the past two years. Subsequently Sanchez has been championed by the likes of Planned Parenthood, the nations largest abortion provider.

Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, The Protest Priest with Priests for Life issued the following statement:

“Since we founded Protest ABQ, we have been dedicated to ending preborn child killing. We will continue to expose the truth about why New Mexico is the abortion capital of the Southwest. It is clear that the elected Democrats here in New Mexico, including many Catholics, support preborn childkilling and far too many Republicans, including some who call themselves prolife, condone preborn childkilling.

If we are prolife, we should be doing everything in our power to stop the slaughter of the innocent and if we are Catholic, we should obey our Catholic faith above all else. What has been happening here in New Mexico is a moral scandal that must be exposed and be brought to an end.”

Sen. Daniel Ivey-Soto (D) claims to be a member of the United Methodist Church, yet he has consistently voted against every pro-life bill that has come before him in the Senate Public Affairs Committee. Ivey-Soto also helped Albuquerque city councilor Pat Davis with GOTV efforts when Davis was running for office.

The citizens of New Mexico deserve to know that their elected officials are “putting politics before Jesus and his babies and this is a form of idolatry!” stated Fr. When a Protest becomes a Riot…

Protest ABQ has always maintained peaceful protests throughout Albuquerque and beyond, this is because we are opposed to all forms of violence. In fact, our mission is to protect the most defenseless among us, children in the womb, from the ultimate act of violence: abortion.

On Tuesday, May 24th Albuquerque experienced a protest that really became a riot because these efforts were fueled not by love but by hate and anger. This riot was one of many throughout the nation focused on opposing Donald Trump’s presidential campaign rallies.

One of the main groups organizing the anti-Trump agitation event in Albuquerque which ultimately resulted in violence against the police, property damage and even animal cruelty was ProgressNow New Mexico.

The executive director of ProgressNow NM is Albuquerque City Councilor Pat Davis (District 6).

Protest ABQ is calling on Pat Davis to step down as a city councilor. In addition, Protest ABQ is calling upon Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry to conduct an investigation into Pat Davis and ProgressNow New Mexico’s role of organizing this “StandUpToTrump Rally”.

One of the main groups organizing the anti-Trump agitation event in Albuquerque which ultimately resulted in violence against the police, property damage and even animal cruelty was ProgressNow New Mexico.

“Join ProgressNow NM and other community partners for an Anti-Trump rally to stand up to Donald Trump.” The events Facebook event page stated that it was created by ProgressNow NM.

This Reuters Article describes the rioting mob from New Mexico:

“Protesters threw rocks and bottles at police officers who responded with pepper spray outside a rally for presidential candidate Donald Trump in Albuquerque, New Mexico, police said. Hundreds of protesters tried to storm the convention center in New Mexico’s biggest city, knocking down barricades and throwing objects at a door and then hurling rocks and bottles at mounted police in riot gear, the Albuquerque Police Department said on Twitter on Tuesday and video posted online showed.Several police officsee wasers were injured, the police tweeted.”

The executive director of ProgressNow NM is Albuquerque City Councilor Pat Davis (District 6).

This riot begs the question, “Who is funding these organizations that are attempting to shut down free speech and a democratic election?”

Whether it was Bernie Sanders supporters or Hillary Clinton supporters that where responsible for the riot, these bullies ultimately have the same agenda: Shut Down Donald Trump and his supporters first amendment rights.

Billionare Nazi collaborator George Soros has publicly condemned Donald Trump and is pouring millions of dollars to defeat him.

George Soros is a member Democracy Alliance. According to its website, “The Democracy Alliance, founded in 2005, is the largest network of donors dedicated to building the progressive movement in the United States. We play a leading role in fostering the infrastructure necessary to advance a progressive agenda for America. We invest in every aspect of progressive power-building – from policymaking to organizing grassroots communities to winning state and national issue and electoral campaigns.” One of the organizations that Democracy Alliance directly funds is…ProgressNow!

In addition to being the executive director of ProgressNow NM, City Councilor Pat Davis is also on the board of directors for ProgressNow.

Another member of the board of directors of ProgressNow is Ted Trimpa. In addition to working with ProgressNow, Trimpa also serves on the board of directors of…Democracy Alliance!

The Interim Board Chair of ProgressNow is Doug Phelps, he also is a member of…Democracy Alliance.

In addition to Democracy Alliance, a super PAC called Priorities USA recently received $6 million dollars from George Soros to directly fund Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. In 2015 alone Priorities USA raised $41 million dollars. Gregg Speed serves on the board of Priorities USA and…ProgressNow! Gregg Speed is also president of America Votes another organization that Democracy Alliance directly funds.

Is Pat Davis’ organization ProgressNow New Mexico being directly funded to shut down free speech, cause civil unrest, and ultimately thwart the democratic process of an upcoming election in New Mexico?

Bud Shaver, executive director of Protest ABQ issued the following statement:

“With all of the damage to public property and violence against the Albuquerque Police that resulted from ProgressNow New Mexico’s anti-Trump agitation efforts, Protest ABQ is calling on Pat Davis to step down as a city councilor. In addition, Protest ABQ is calling upon Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry to conduct an investigation into Pat Davis and ProgressNow New Mexico’s role of organizing this “StandUpToTrump Rally”. Mayor Berry is offering a $10,000 dollar reward for the capture of individuals responsible for the rioting, how about starting with those who organized it?”

Media Matters (also directly funded by Democracy Alliance and organized by George Soros) has characterized Protest ABQ as  “a radical anti-abortion group” and claimed that Protest ABQ’s peaceful and non-violent protests are an attempt to, “mobilize violence against abortion providers” yet over the past two years of doing several protests each week, NONE of them have produced riots or property damage nor violence against ANYONE.

In fact Protest ABQ has continuously and publicly condemned all acts of violence.

Where is Pat Davis’ statement condemning the mob rioting and violence that his anti-Trump agitation event produced?

If Protest ABQ is labeled “radical” and “violent” for our peaceful protests, what should we conclude about Pat Davis and ProgressNow New Mexico?
