Happy New Year from our family to yours! God has been faithful this past year. It has been quite eventful this year as we continue to push back the darkness of the New Mexico abortion cartel, hold leaders accountable and work to save the lives of pre-born babies.

#5- NM House Passes Late-Term Abortion Ban
We moved here to New Mexico in 2010 to expose late-term abortion since nearly 90% of Americans oppose late-term abortions. We helped launch the first ever citywide referendum that would have banned abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy in 2013. In 2015, five years of groundbreaking research and a public exposure campaign through Protest ABQ was the catalyst of the first pro-life bill to EVER pass the New Mexico House…a Late-Term Abortion Ban!
#4- Bud Goes to Washington D.C. City, State and…Federal Efforts to Ban Late Term Abortion
In a monumental national effort to ban late-term abortions, Bud traveled to Washington D.C. to stand in solidarity with pro-life leaders in calling for a vote on H.R. 36, the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Coinciding with the National Day of Prayer (May 6, 2015), pro-life leaders gathered at U.S. House Speaker, John Boehner’s office to pray and urge the passage of a National Ban on Late-Term Abortions. Bud hand delivered signatures collected from a petition by New Mexicans and voices from all across the nation calling for an end to abortions at 20 weeks of pregnancy to House Speaker Boehner’s office…and just days later the U.S. House did just that!
The pro-life community from all across the world came together in prayer and action in an attempt to help a divided family from the United Kingdom who traveled to Albuquerque for a late-term abortion. Unfortunately, despite all of our best efforts, the mother aborted her 30-week old baby. Despite this tragic loss, national awareness was raised about the need to end late-term abortions in New Mexico.
A separate opportunity arose when we were contacted by the pro-life community in Lubbock, TX about a Christian family traveling to ABQ to kill their 5 month old daughter who had recently been diagnosed in the womb as having Down Syndrome.
We contacted their church and mobilized a prayer network, as a result, we were notified that the family changed their mind and did not end up killing their precious little girl.
#2- 600+ Protest Planned Parenthood in Albuquerque
In conjunction with national protests sponsored by #ProtestPP, New Mexicans held the largest protest EVER against the killing business of Planned Parenthood in their state. The Albuquerque protest drew over 600 New Mexicans out to protest the only Planned Parenthood surgical abortion center in the state.
Protest ABQ sponsored the Albuquerque protest and co-lead it with Fr. Stephen Imbarrato of Priests for Life. The historic protest sent a strong message of solidarity and resounding declaration to political leaders in New Mexico that New Mexicans want to end pre-born child killing in this state.
In 2015 our protest efforts were cranked up into full gear as we protested both pro-abortion politicians and soft PLINO(Pro-Life In Name Only) Republican politicians who both only serve to perpetuate the radical pro-abortion climate in New Mexico. We also continued to highlight and protest the University of New Mexico (UNM).
We wrapped up a productive year of pro-life ministry by filing a formal complaint with the Attorney General asking for a thorough investigation of the harvesting of aborted baby body parts at Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO). The ABQ Journal newspaper published a great article that confirmed SWO is the sole provider of fetal remains to UNM.
Please join us in prayer that the AG will follow through and that in 2016 we will see SWO close down and UNM will abandon its radical abortion agenda.

Two prominent leaders in New Mexico, Pastor Dewey Moede and Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, are leading the charge by calling on New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez to resign.
Pastor Dewey Moede, News Director at fggam.org For God’s Glory Alone Ministries- FGGAM reportedthat according to Peter St. Cyr, an award winning watchdog journalist, Gov. Susana Martinez may have committed a fourth degree felony when she pressured an emergency dispatcher and repeatedly demanded witness information after a noise complaint was made to hotel staff during an after-party hosted by the Governor at a posh Santa Fe hotel.
“10-16-3. Ethical principles of public service; certain official acts prohibited; penalty.
A. A legislator or public officer or employee shall treat the legislator’s or public officer’s or employee’s government position as a public trust. The legislator or public officer or employee shall use the powers and resources of public office ONLY TO ADVANCE THE PUBLIC INTEREST and NOT to OBTAIN PERSONAL BENEFITS or PURSUE PRIVATE INTERESTS. Note: It’s a fourth degree felony.”
On December 22, 2015 Pastor Dewey Moede issued the following statement after new information came to light contradicting Gov. Susana Martinez’s account of the events that took place after a hotel staff party:
“Time for Gov. Martinez to resign. Her story does not add up. I no longer trust her to lead our state, our Children and the effort to defeat drunk driving and work with Law Enforcement Officials.”
According to audio captured by Santa Fe police Sgt. Anthony Tapia contradicts Governor Martinez’s account and indicated that she was clearly “inebriated.” (Audio files released by New Mexico Political Report)
KRQE-13 reported that Governor Martinez’s actions could warrant, “disciplinary action.”
Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, Local and National Pro-Life Activist on staff with Priests For Life also publicly called on Governor Martinez to resign on December 23, 2015 issuing the following statement,
“Isn’t it time for New Mexican conservatives especially the Prolife community to unite and demand Susana Martinez’s resignation. It is time to let [Lieutenant Governor] John Sanchez restore integrity and true family and life values to our state. Will the Prolife community remain as silent about Martinez as she has been about the out of control abortion industry in our state? John Sanchez would be a much more respectable Governor and leader of the Republican Party. Please resign so the Republican Party can regroup from your embarrassing tenure as Governor.”

New Mexico is currently ranked the worst state in the nation in almost all the polls…and Albuquerque is known nationally as the Late-Term Abortion Capital of America.
Albuquerque, NM- The ABQ Journal newspaper is reporting that the University of New Mexico, which is a publicly-funded institution, has partially cut ties with Southwestern Women’s Options, a late-term abortion facility owned by Texas abortionist Curtis Boyd, that conducts abortions through all nine months of pregnancy.
UNM has severed an agreement with SWO to provide abortion training for UNM medical students. However, it says it will continue to accept harvested aborted baby parts from this facility. Before UNM’s move to cut formal ties with SWO, it appeared that the university was providing staffing to the abortion facility in exchange for the fetal remains that it says it uses for “research.”
The problem with this body parts arrangement is that it is in violation of New Mexico law.
Protest ABQ obtained Curtis Boyd’s consent forms from 2012 and 2015 that states: “pregnancy tissue may be used in medical research.”
This clearly violates NM Statute Chapter 24 Section 6b, which states:
For this reason, Protest ABQ filed a formal complaint in July 2015, with the New Mexico Attorney General seeking an investigation into the illegal use of aborted baby remains for research since the baby cannot consent to the donation. That complaint is still pending.
UNM Abortion Ties
For the past five years members of Protest ABQ have been exposing and protesting the University of New Mexico’s abortion agenda. The pro-life group exposed the fact that SWO is training UNM medical students through the Ryan Residency Abortion Training Program. In addition, UNM runs a free-standing abortion facility through the illegal use of taxpayer funds. Her work at the UNM-operated abortion facility has led to the promotion of UNM staff physician and abortionist Eve Espey to the position as Chair of the OBGYN Department.
“UNM is the heart of the abortion industry in the state, but perhaps that is beginning to change,” said Bud Shaver, Executive Director of Protest ABQ. “But UNM’s continued harvesting of aborted baby organs at Southwestern Women’s Options remains a huge issue since the law prohibits the use of aborted baby remains for research purposes.”
The University of New Mexico had been utilizing Curtis Boyd and other late-term abortionists to train residents and fellows in second trimester procedures. Through an on-site clinical rotation these procedures required students to dismember pre-born children in the womb and then extract their tiny bodies in pieces through the 25th week of pregnancy. UNM has had training agreements with Curtis Boyd going back at least to the 2011-2012 school year.
No Transparency or Accountability
On November 2, 2015, Protest ABQ submitted an Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) request in reference to fetal tissue contracts and agreements between UNM and Curtis Boyd’s abortion business. UNM responded with a letter informing Protest ABQ that no such documents were found.
This withholding of information from a legally submitted IPRA request is in violation of New Mexico’s public information laws.
“UNM is a publicly funded state institution, but like other leaders in the state, they feel no need to obey the laws and provide transparency about the abortion agenda they embrace and promote. This is a disgrace that will require legal action on our part,” stated Bud Shaver.
According to a 2015 training agreement between Curtis Boyd and UNM, Boyd describes abortion procedures beyond 20 weeks as causing “feticide” using a drug called digoxin. He specifies that after the procedure, the fetal tissue will then be given to UNM.
However, digoxin, a drug that essentially causes the baby in the womb to die from a heart attack, contaminates the tissue, making it unusable for medical research. This fact was publicized widely over the summer as the Center for Medical Progress released several videos that showed Planned Parenthood abortionists and representatives from biotech companies clearly discussing the topic of digoxin and how it taints the fetal tissue.
This has led to suspicions that Boyd may have lied about using digoxin and is instead using the now illegal partial-birth abortion procedure to obtain body parts that are suitable for medical research.
UPDATE: We have learned that the documents showing the relationship between UNM and Boyd were actually obtained through the efforts of the New Mexico Alliance for Life and their legal counsel. The Journal article was unclear as to how the documents were obtained. We apologize for any misunderstanding and congratulate NMAFL on providing this information to the public.
Procedures used by Curtis Boyd during the late-term abortion procedures that have resulted in the use of human remains for research must be investigated.
Rampant Complicity
“Members of Protest ABQ met with Martinez four years ago and laid out the case against UNM and Paul Roth, CEO of UNM Health Sciences Center, who heavily promotes abortion and embryonic stem cell research. Roth has been highly instrumental in pushing a pro-abortion agenda at UNM,” stated Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, Founder of Protest ABQ. “Earlier this year we exposed an uncharacteristic donation made by Roth to New Mexico GOP Speaker of the House Don Tripp, which suspiciously occurred shortly after a closed door meeting between legislators and UNM officials about fetal tissue research and disposal.”
Protest ABQ leaders have met with the UNM Board of Regents President Jack Fortnerabout the UNM abortion agenda. Both Gov. Martinez and Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry are well aware of the tentacles of the abortion industry in New Mexico that extend from UNM. Nevertheless, Mayor Berry recently teamed up with abortionist Eve Espey on an initiative targeting high school teens for sex education and abortion.
“The Republican leadership in this state have done nothing but cooperate with and shelter UNM and the late-term abortion industry in New Mexico. Under Martinez and Berry’s watch, with their full knowledge, Roth and Espey have built up and expanded the abortion industry in the state through UNM,” stated Bud Shaver.
The bottom line is that while UNM is cutting ties with the local late-term abortion business, UNM still is in violation of the ban on aborted baby tissue use in research. In addition, any affiliation or use of University resources to promote abortion is strictly forbidden under Federal Law that bars tax money from funding abortion services.
The ban on using tax money for abortions is being blatantly violated at the UNM Center for Reproductive Health (UNMCRH), which is an abortion facility operated with the help of tax funds by UNM.
Protest ABQ calls on UNM to stop violating the law by halting the practice of harvesting aborted baby remains and closing down the UNMCRH abortion facility. This will restore the rule of law and do great good for the community of Albuquerque and for the lives of children who will be saved in the womb as a result.

New Mexico True: Why We are the Pre-born Child Killing Capital of the Country!
Let me start this blog with some context. New Mexico is the pre-born child killing capital of the Southwest and the late term pre-born child killing capital of the country. The abortion industry in NM brags that NM is the least restrictive state in the country for abortions. Just this year, a young lady over 30 weeks pregnant came here from the United Kingdom to have her baby killed at Southwest Women’s Options. Albuquerque is truly the heart of the pre-born child killing industry and the University of New Mexico can be said to be the heart’s aorta, fueling the citywide and statewide industry of death. UNM operates 3 of the 5 abortion centers in the city as well as manages several high school referral clinics. UNM also trains abortionists and promotes other aspects of the culture of death. To further this context, NM Governor Susana Martinez, and ABQ Mayor RJ Berry both claim to be pro-life. Let’s further paint the picture with the reality that the pro-life movement here has not been able to pass any true baby saving legislation…ever!
Indulge me now while I continue with some personal context. When I was still in the seminary, I founded a pregnancy resource center across the street from a baby killing facility in Hartford, CT. My first year doing ministry here in NM, 2005, I founded Project Defending Life (PDL), a pro-life ministry located next to Planned Parenthood. We started the Sanctity of Life Awareness and Unity Day in Santa Fe, used sidewalk counseling and ultrasounds to save hundreds of babies’ lives. We likewise helped hundreds of moms in need. We sponsored various local protests including LifeChains and 40 Days for Life. We initiated post abortion healing ministries such as SilentNoMore and Rachel’s Vineyard. We were the only ministry in the entire country that celebrated Mass multiple times a week with Eucharistic Processions to Planned Parenthood. Most importantly we organized and energized a ministerial pro-life movement where before there was little more than a narrow, politically focused, pro-life effort. Most importantly, when I went on sabbatical at the beginning of 2013, the pro-life movement was as unified and energized as it had ever been and has ever been.
During this period, I invited Bud and Tara Shaver and their family to Albuquerque to help expand the PDL ministry to our non-Catholic Christian brothers and sisters. Since then I feel the Shavers and I have been like family. Indeed I feel I am their spiritual father and I hope they feel the same way. I feel privileged to have worked side by side with these young Christian pro-life activists and it is my hope that we will continue to work as closely together until pre-born child killing ends.
I began to transition away from Project Defending Life in 2013. In 2014, I began ProtestABQ with the Shavers. In 2015, I began national pro-life ministry with Priests for Life and founded Protest Child Killing, a national pro-life protest movement which I believe can end pre-born child killing in 5 years. I left ProtestABQ(the local aspect of Protest Child Killing) to be lead by Bud and Tara. We have always worked hand in hand and still do.
In the 2 years we have been exclusively doing peaceful and prayerful protests, we have had 3 focuses; NM state leadership, ABQ city leadership, and the leadership of UNM. Why? We have felt and have come to realize that these three leaderships had the greatest potential to impact, provide oversight, and restrict the pre-born child killing industry in our state. The Governor claims to be pro-life, the Mayor claims to be pro-life, and the President of the UNM Regents claims to be pro-life. We met with the Governor the 1st year she was in office. We met with representatives of the Regents more than once. We have sought to meet with Mayor Berry for years. He has always refused our efforts to meet.
Having given these leaders more than ample orientation of the situation that exists in their city, state, and university, we began protesting their lack of concern, their silence, their lack of action, and their lack of leadership. Today, we find these leaders not only condoning the pre-born child killing industry, but in some ways, they are aiding and abetting the industry. It is more than interesting that the only energy they have spent on this issue during this time is attacking we pro-lifers who have been making the taxpaying public aware of the deplorable situation in our city and state while exposing the complicity of those in leadership positions.
The Shavers and I have been disparaged by supporters of the Governor, the Mayor, and the University. We have been called radical extremists, outsiders, and part of a fringe element of the pro-life movement. We have been accused of being violent and dangerous. We have had our 1st amendment rights violated more than once. Recently the city election ethics board fined the Shavers (a Christian family with 3 children) $1000. The fine came about from a sham hearing with a ruling that is clearly unconstitutional. The Shavers have been forced to sue the city! We have also been harassed by one of the Governor’s state agencies and have been obstructed by others. It is interesting, though, that on the streets during all of this our relationship with law enforcement has always been excellent! Why? We are always respectful, peaceful, and prayerful.
We, among many others, are convinced that the Governor and the Mayor aspire for higher offices. Yet [the] Governor’s advisers have verbally accosted us and recently the Mayor made a video in support of a pro-abortion ultra-liberal city council candidate; a video that clearly was an attempt to “chill” our free speech. The Mayor now seems to be politically aligned with this pro-abortion councilman who filed the ethics complaint about our protests. The Mayor also has, in the recent past, worked closely with an abortionist and other leaders of the local abortion industry on an initiative directed at teens.
I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, we stand by our peaceful and prayerful protests trying to hold our elected, so- called pro-life leadership accountable. We have asked them to do any number of things to provide oversight and inspection of the abortion industry. We have encouraged them for years to speak out about this deplorable situation in our city and state.
We find it nothing more than a substantiation of what we have believed for the last two years that these leaders have used their influence, their administrations, their followers, and even some politically oriented pro-lifers to not only protect the pre-born child killing industry, but attack and harass those of us who believe we have a moral obligation to protest pre-born child killing especially under our current local conditions.
I am asking the Mayor to do what he has promised he would do numerous times. Meet with us. I am asking the Governor to stop attacking us and work with us to restrict and provide oversight of the pre-born child killing industry in NM. There is much that can be done. I am asking that UNM remove Dr. Paul Roth or reassign him, replacing him with someone who is more closely aligned with the traditional family and life values of the people of NM. I am asking everyone who is pro-life to join us in not only denouncing the conspiracy of complicity in our state, but also to work with us to change the reputation of our city and state away from the pre-born child killing capital of the Southwest.
Let’s ask ourselves! Why doesn’t our elected pro-life leaders take the same energy they use to harass and obstruct pro-lifers and use it to save pre-born babies?
2015 is almost over and it’s hard to believe that nearly another year has gone by. Without the encouragement, prayer and support from so many of you we would never be able to serve in Albuquerque as missionaries for the cause of life. We thank you even though a simple thank you seems insufficient.

This month was the Mayor of Albuquerque’s state of the city address. As a self proclaimed pro-life Mayor we are still waiting for him to address and act upon the abortion crisis we face.
Albuquerque is the late term abortion capital and Mayor Richard Berry is completely silent, that is until we we stir things up a bit and wake him from his slumber. If he was truly pro-life would he criticize those who are actively seeking justice for pre-born children or would he start pursing justice himself?
Like many politicians he chose the former instead of doing what’s right and taking responsibility for the true state of his city.
Albuquerque has abortion facilities that are operating outside of their zone. Abortion injuries upon women in unregulated facilities are staggering. There are statutes that are not being enforced in Albuquerque, but Mayor Berry seems content to ignore all of this.
We protested this event that was held right across the street from Southwestern Women’s Options late term abortion facility and urged attendees to ask Mayor Berry to not let another day go by without a proactive plan to say or do something to stop the killing of pre-born children.
#ProtestBOA in ABQ
Protest Bank of America (BOA) is an initiative of Pro-life Waco that we are implementing in Albuquerque. BOA has approved Planned Parenthood to be an organization that their employees can give to at the end of each year, BOA then matches those donations. BOA has a choice who is on their donor matching program list and our hope is that by protesting BOA locations across the nation they will remove PP. Abortion is bad business and in our handful of protests people of faith have closed their accounts, because every cent we take away from the abortion cartel the better.
This month Protest ABQ was fined and reprimanded for sending educational postcards into Pat Davis’ district while he was in the race for a city council seat. The ABQ Board of Ethics asserted that we violated the city’s election code because we didn’t register with the city and failed to put the printers address on the postcard. Protest ABQ has appealed this decision and believes that the city’s election code in unconstitutional. Our case will now go to court as we seek a ruling that will preserve free speech activity in ABQ.

Albuquerque, NM- On November 19th the Albuquerque Board of Ethics ruled that Protest ABQ violated the city’s election code when postcards were mailed to residents of District 6 that showed the pro-abortion position of Pat Davis who at the time was running for city council. An employee of Pat Davis filed the initial complaint.
Protest ABQ believes that the city’s election code is unconstitutional. The code currently requires that if any individual or group spends $250 or more in support of, or in opposition to a candidate for city office, they must register with the City Clerk’s Office, submit “campaign spending” financial reports, establish separate bank accounts for any such spending, attend a mandatory meeting prior to the election, are subject to having their books audited, and comply with other administrative and regulatory requirements. During the hearing the Board of Ethics members refused to consider whether the election code is constitutional, despite the fact that Protest ABQ’s counsel provided them with legal cases showing the it is not. See, e.g., New Mexico Youth Organized v. Herrera, 611 F.3d 669, a 2010 case from the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals holding that New Mexico’s state campaign reporting act was unconstitutional because it automatically made anyone who spent $500 a year for “political purposes” subject to mandatory registration and reporting requirements.
For this reason Protest ABQ filed a Notice of Appeal in State District Court on November 24th and plans to challenge the ruling that resulted in a public reprimand and a $1000 fine.
The postcards, which were mailed as an educational outreach, featured a picture of a late term aborted child from Douglas Karpen’s abortion facility in Houston, TX as well as an autopsy photo of Marla Cardamone who was 18 at the time of her abortion-related death.
As important as it is to show to the truth about what abortion does to women and children, it is equally important to make sure that our right to do so peacefully is also protected. The complaint filed against Protest ABQ was merely an attempt to block our ability to show the residents of Albuquerque what happens when the abortion industry reigns out of control.
Freedom of speech and the Constitution are under attack in this nation but we have the opportunity to to defend both in Albuquerque with this appeal. “The constitution exists to protect both the message bearer and message receiver. This is not the City’s first attempt to silence Protest ABQ. In recent weeks, self proclaimed pro-life Mayor Richard Berry called for Protest ABQ to stop driving the truth truck in District 6. His statements echoed Pat Davis’s own disapproval about our protests in his district. For Mayor Berry to align himself with a leftist like Pat Davis instead of taking pro-active measures and tackling the abortion crisis in his city is very alarming.
Protest ABQ also found it interesting that 3 of the 4 Board of Ethics members who ruled against Protest ABQ have made political donations primarily to Republicans and those backed by Jay McCleskey.
Jay McCleskey is Governor Susana Martinez’s chief political advisor and is currently under investigation by the FBI. McCleskey verbally assaultedmembers of Protest ABQ during a protest in 2014 and also helped Mayor Berry get elected in 2009 and 2013. Could it be that those who claim to be pro-life don’t really want to prove their worth but instead silence those trying to end abortion in New Mexico?

Albuquerque, NM- Details about the suspected Colorado shooter Robert Lewis Dear are beginning to come out, Right-Wing News best summarizes the bizarre reports about this man:
“The story surrounding Robert Lewis Dear just gets weirder and weirder. He comes from South Carolina and relocated to Colorado, where he wanted to be left alone. He’s been arrested as a peeping Tom and charged with animal cruelty for shooting a dog with a pellet gun. Both charges were dropped. He’s been accused of domestic violence and threatening numerous other people with violence as well. His voter registration lists him as a woman… I kid you not. But he’s not a registered Republican. He’s a non-practicing Christian and he legally bought the guns used in the shooting. People who know him say he has a hard time focusing. Since arriving in Colorado he has taken to smoking pot all the time and is evidently into bondage and sadomasochism. Charming fella. Obama is using the Colorado shooting as an excuse to push gun control and confiscation once more. It is just despicable. The man was clearly unstable and went off the rails. Planned Parenthood officials have confirmed none of the people killed in the shooting or any of the 9 victims who were injured were Planned Parenthood abortion clinic staff or patients. The man ranted about no more baby parts and then ranted about Obama. His insane babble was so incoherent the police still can’t give a real motive. The group was quick to release a statement condemning the shooter’s actions and they say they want to make sure people realize he does not represent their views or the Pro-Life community’s.
Shaver said, “We find comfort in knowing that Pro-Life people really don’t do things like this. We are Pro-Life because we care about people and we want to see lives saved.”

Our prayers go out to all those involved today in the senseless shooting at the Planned Parenthood located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We continue to pray for the law enforcement officers and all of those who were shot and for the safety of those currently responding to this ongoing situation.
Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, founder of Protest ABQ and Director of Protest Child Killing issued the following statement, “Those of us who protest pre-born child killing with Protest ABQ and Protest Child Killing never condone any act of violence, indeed we are protesting the violent act of abortion that kills pre-born children in the womb. We are committed to peacefully protesting this violence. Our prayers go out to all victims of violence.”
Operation Rescue and the Christian Defense Coalition issued the following press release:
Colorado Springs, CO — Operation Rescue and the Christian Defense Coalition are denouncing the violence that appears to be in progress at a Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Details are still sketchy regarding the motives of the perpetrator and we urge the public not to draw any conclusions until police can make an official determination.
“Operation Rescue unequivocally deplores and denounces all violence at abortion clinics and has a long history of working through peaceful channels to advocate on behalf of women and their babies. We express deep concern for everyone involved and are praying for the safety of those at the Planned Parenthood office and for law enforcement personnel. We pray this tragic situation can be quickly resolved without further injury to anyone,” said Troy Newman President of Operation Rescue.
“Although we don’t know the reasons for the shooting near the Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs today, the pro-life movement is praying for the safety of all involved and as a movement we have always unequivocally condemned all forms of violence at abortion clinics. We must continually as a nation stand against violence on all levels.,” said Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, based in Washington, D.C.
As of this writing, the situation remains active and fluid. Operation Rescue and the Christian Defense Coalition urges people of good will everywhere to pray for a speedy and peaceful resolution to this situation and tweet their thoughts for the safety of those in danger under the hashtag #AllLivesMatter.

What is motivating this shooting will become clearer in due time. We ask that in the meantime, nobody jump to conclusions regarding the connection between this violence and the controversy over abortion and Planned Parenthood, and we ask that people do not use this situation to inflame emotions on either side of the abortion issue.”
“The tragic situation in Colorado is still active, though details remain sketchy. Protest ABQ called on Mayor Richard J. Berry during his 2016 State of the City address today. We urged his constituents, supporters and friends to encourage him to speak up for and act to protect the most defenseless citizens of Albuquerque…children in the womb.
Today as attendees of this event went inside to eat, network and hear from Mayor Berry, babies were murdered in their mothers wombs right across the street from the venue. Yes, right across the street is where Southwestern Women’s Options, the largest late term abortion facility in America is located.

Albuquerque, NM- Today the leader of the late term abortion capital of the nation, Mayor Richard Berry, will give his “2016 State of the City” address. This Mayoral event is being held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Albuquerque which is right across the street from Southwestern Women’s Option late term abortion facility. Members of Protest ABQ have sought meetings with Berry and have even hand delivered letters to him about the state of his city, the late term abortion capital of the nation. These efforts have not been reciprocated by the Mayor’s office. Albuquerque, NM- Pro-Life Activists strategically focused their protests across two states by holding simultaneous protests exposing Bank of America’s financial support of Planned Parenthood. Protest ABQ joined forces with Pro-Life Waco and lead a protest at a Bank of America location in Albuquerque, New Mexico while Pro-Life Waco lead a protest of Bank of America located in Austin, Texas on Thursday November 12, 2015.
Bud Shaver, Executive Director of Protest ABQ reported that the protest was a success, “Great response in Albuquerque, New Mexico to our Bank of America Protest sponsored by Pro-Life Waco and Protest ABQ. At least one person told us they were going to close their Bank of America account due to the awareness raised by our protest! Several people thanked us!”

“#ProtestBOA (Bank of America) in Austin today. Of our six weekly excursions to Austin, today was possibly the best.
–When we gathered to pray before beginning our protest/outreach, one of the pedestrians joined us holding hands in prayer.
–While we did get some brief negative words and hand signs, no one was in our face attempting to disrupt for an extensive period of time.
–Nine from Waco joined three from the Austin area to deliver today’s #ProtestBOA.
–One person came out of the bank with thumbs up saying, “I’ve just closed my account.”
–We have some Austin “regulars” who stop by each week to cheer us on and bless us. I love protesting in the midst of heavy pedestrian traffic. The experience is so personal with positive and negative interactions. I was so proud of the way our gang kept our cool at all times.
–We stopped for our late lunch at Whataburger in Georgetown, Texas. We met a pro-life couple from Waco who had also been in Austin. (Our pro-life T-shirts, make us stand out in a group.) The wife said she had seen us at BOA in Austin and showed us the photo of us she posted on her Facebook page. Gave us her email address so we could stay in touch.
–It was a great encouragement to know that while we were delivering #ProtestBOA in Austin, our friends from ProtestABQ were delivering #ProtestBOA in Albuquerque.

Newsmax asserts, “Based on a variety of media and pro-life sources, Newsmax has compiled this roster of the nation’s top 100 pro-life icons. These cultural warriors long for the day when the last abortion is conducted in the United States, and they won’t cease their protests until that time…62. Susana Martinez, governor of New Mexico — The Susan B. Anthony List endorsed her bid for governor. Martinez says one reason she is staunchly pro-life is because “I have seen what abortion can do to a woman.” She calls partial birth abortion “atrocious.” Named “Woman of the Year” by Heart Magazine, Martinez is getting a lot of buzz as a possible GOP vice-presidential candidate.”

Governor Susana Martinez #62? So Newsmax uses a quote she gave during her 1st election campaign…while she was running for governor. [And Susan B. Anthony List DID NOT endorse her 2nd election campaign specifically because Protest ABQ exposed that she did NOTHING during her first term: http://www.cosmopolitan.com/politics/news/a32388/susana-martinez-pro-life-protest-abq/] She said what she needed to say to get elected. Since then she has done nothing and has said little. Governing the “late term abortion capital of the country” she has not only done nothing but has been a hindrance to pro-life efforts. Her administration has called pro-lifers [fringe protesters] and “pieces of sh&t.” Her most infamous quote (in the face of pro-lifers protesting her) as Governor…”if a bill protecting fetuses comes to my desk, I would ‘consider’ signing it.”
She only supported the late term abortion ban because, again, pro-lifers protested her into it and then her cronies conspired to write a meaningless bill doomed for failure. Susana Martinez, if pro-life, is a PLINO (pro-life in name only). It is telling that Newsmax could not come up with a single thing she has said or done in office to warrant a pro-life mantle. [Newsmax states, “She calls partial birth abortion “atrocious.” Does Silent Done Nothing “Influential Pro-Life Advocate” Susana even know that partial birth abortion has been banned?] That is because there is nothing she has said or done.
What is also telling is that Newsmax mentions her higher GOP aspirations. Yes, indeed, this is her sole motivation for everything she does or doesn’t do. Susana Martinez condones abortion and should not be on any pro-life list.
We started out the month of October in Flagstaff, AZ for a Pro-Life presentation titled, “Making States Abortion Free,One City at a Time.” We shared the story of how we began our ministry, the abortion free strategy we are implementing here and our protest efforts. This was an awesome opportunity considering that Flagstaff is where we began our pro-life ministry back in 2007. It’s amazing to see how our work has come full circle and it was a blessing to have the chance to encourage the locals of Flagstaff with our own journey of faith and cast the vision for an abortion free city.

October was also a busy month of exposing the wickedness of New Mexico’s abortion cartel. Three major articles were published, each one bringing an Albuquerque abortion mill under scrutiny. As Christians reflecting Christ, we must be the light shining the truth into the darkness. It is our responsibility to rise above the status quo and apply the necessary pressure and to be the salt which has the ability to preserve our communities.
Reality Check: We’re at War Against Incarnate Evil- During his interview David Daleiden shares what he considered to be a face to face encounter with evil. After all of his hours inside of PP abortion clinics, witnessing the remains of aborted children, and speaking to countless abortionists, he names one of Albuquerque’s late-term abortionists, Shelley Sella as his first encounter with “Incarnate Evil“.
Finally, the ABQ Journal reported on Planned Parenthood’s claim to immediately stop taking money for aborted baby body parts. Initially the article seems to laud PP but Tara was given the last word, “Just because Planned Parenthood provides other services doesn’t negate the fact that they kill babies.”
This month we also decided to take our Protest presence to the next level in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Late-Term Abortion Capital of America by holding a weekly protest at Planned Parenthood each Saturday morning.
Planned Parenthood is on the run and it’s vital that we keep their killing business in the minds of local Albuquerque residents.
In addition, we stepped up our Protest presence during our weekly #ProtestPP by stepping off of the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood and into the neighborhood surrounding Planned Parenthood. There are many in this neighborhood who have no idea that PP murders pre-born children.
“Death, Dead Bodies and Tissue”- A Look Into America’s Abortion Industry is the title of an article Tara wrote this month in evaluation of leaked Center for Medical Progress footage. This footage really exposed the heart of the abortion industry in America and reminds us that having a decisive strategy to end abortion is imperative.
Curtis Boyd (owner of SWO in Albuquerque, NM) who brags about doing illegal “back alley” abortions in the 1960’s…Also admits that he knows he is killing children!

Albuquerque, NM- On October 22, 2015 a Congressional whistleblower leaked 11 undercover videos recorded by The Center for Medical Progress to Gotnews.com. This bundle of over four hours of video had been blocked from public release in July after a lawsuit was filed by the National Abortion Federation. This set of videos have members of the New Mexico abortion cartel mentioned throughout.
While many have done their own analysis of this chunk of video footage and everyone who views this footage picks up on different things, I want to hone in on what I observed and took away from the perspective of a pro-life missionary to New Mexico and an activist, who interned with Operation Rescue for over a year.
During our time as intern’s with Operation Rescue and over the past 5 years in Albuquerque New Mexico, now known as the Late-Term Abortion Capital of America, we did a lot of research and undercover investigations of several of the abortionists featured in this footage. While we disagree with the work abortionists do because they murder babies we do agree with the abortionists in these videos when they state that abortion is, “grotesque, it is killing, and it is violent.”
The first set of videos I watched were titled “Fetal Disposition” and were merely a forum to bemoan the increasing legislation regarding disposal of fetal tissue after an abortion. This topic alone strikes fear into the heart of those running abortion mills as they have to figure out what to do with the bodies of their victims.
Isn’t this the problem of every murderer though- “How am I going to get rid of this dead body?”
Three things in particular stuck with me after this segment. The first is the mentality of Northland Family Planning abortion facility owner, Renee Chelian, she talks about her experience exploring disposal options at crematoriums, funeral homes and even comments that it would be great if “fetus’” could be used to produce energy (Fetal Disposition Part 3 at 18:55). How to dispose of aborted baby body parts is an issue for many abortionists which is why Planned Parenthood has been caught selling body parts to biotech companies for research purposes.
Since disposal options in Michigan were not readily available Renee Chilean expresses her overall frustration and desperation when she states in all seriousness that they were tempted to give the dead baby body parts back to the women after their abortions in a “gift bag” to take home and figure out what to do with it. She states (Part 1 at 28:22 into Part 2), “It’s their pregnancy and why is this our problem?” So killing the pre-born child is their “problem” but that’s as far as they feel they should go because disposal legislation is making their job too difficult.
The second statement that stuck with me occurred during the question and answer portion of the segment where Renee Chelian (Fetal Disposition Part 2 at 17:53) sums up the problem with America. “This country doesn’t want to deal with death and dead bodies or tissue.” I think she is right and this is why so many, even among pro-lifers, want to dismiss showing or seeing the victims of abortion and also why many politicians, especially those in New Mexico are consistently turning a blind eye to the murder of pre-born children.
The third thing that was very evident during this discussion is the involvement of Universities in the procurement and use of of aborted baby body parts in research. This is a cause of great concern regarding our own University of New Mexico (UNM) which has a research arm that has most recently announced groundbreaking vaccines that may potentially use aborted fetal cells and or tissue.
All of these discussions were held at National Abortion Federation (NAF) conferences and the history of NAF hits close to home here in Albuquerque as Curtis and Glenna Boyd, owners of Southwestern Women’s Options late term abortion facility, have been involved with NAF since its inception. In fact, Curtis Boyd is a founding member of NAF.

In April of 2014 when the video titled “2nd Trimester Provider Self Care” was recorded by CMP, Glenna was introduced (Part 2 at 12:49) as Chair of the NAF Board of Directors. This particular video footage is centered around a panel of abortion industry workers, including Glenna, who had been asked to give 2nd trimester abortionists tips on self care and overcoming the stigma that haunts them. These folks do after all dismember human babies for a living, this forum proves that it takes a toll on them.
In addition to the stigma they receive from killing babies, Glenna Boyd also lamented that reporters dared to report on a woman who died from an abortion complication at their Texas facility back in 1980. Several abortionists referenced the higher stigma that they receive as abortionists when a patient dies from an abortion related complication.
Glenna Boyd also spoke about the emotional toll and outrage she experienced due to our tireless efforts working with Operation Rescue to document several abortion related complications at their late-term abortion facility, Southwestern Women’s Options, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Glenna specifically referenced an article that ran on the front page of the Albuquerque Journal after abortionist Shelley Sella, who works at Southwestern Women’s Options, ruptured the uterus of a woman during a 35 week abortion.
While the speakers all shared their perceived persecution from pro-lifers, the in fighting of the pro-abortion movement was spoken about as well. Some in the abortion industry feel that Planned Parenthood doesn’t respect independent facilities and thus tries to steal their clientele.
Abortionist Uta Landy also spoke on the panel titled “2nd Trimester Provider Self Care.” Landy recounted an incident by a fellow abortionist about an eyeball falling into their lap during an abortion (Second Trimester Provider Care Part 4 at 9:30). This disturbing account has gotten quite a bit of attention, since the scenario provoked an eruption of laughter and applause. The fact that this all happened during a panel designed to address and attempt to overcome the stigma surrounding abortion really highlights the mindset of individuals who are in the business of killing and how desensitized they are to it. The reason that NAF tried so hard to suppress this footage from being seen by the general public is because they don’t want the world to know that their industry really is just about, death, dead bodies and tissue.
Uta Landy, is the National Director of the Ryan Residency Programs and Family Planning Fellowship of which the University of New Mexico is a member. The mission of the Ryan program is to “integrate and enhance family planning [Abortion] training for obstetrics and gynecology residents in the United States and Canada.”
The University of New Mexico (UNM) is the heart of the abortion cartel in New Mexico. For years myself and Fr. Stephen Imbarrato have met with UNM officials all the way up to the President of the Board of Regents about UNM’s radical abortion agenda with the desire to see their free standing abortion facility closed and their abortion training to be removed.
However, UNM has a deep seated agenda in trying to raise up the next generation of abortionists and this desire is evident by their move to make abortionist Eve Espey the Chair of the OBGYN department. Espey is also mentioned (Second Trimester Provider Care Part 4 at 24:10) during this segment as an asset “who can be perceived as external who can help abortionists to have credibility within their departments.”
Late-term abortionist, Susan Robinson who works at Southwestern Women’s Options in Albuquerque, New Mexico, shared her position with a panel on the “Planned Parenthood Michigan Workshop Video” that is very telling (PP MI Workshop Video at 18:55). Someone previously asked Robinson, “What do you think about conscientious refusal to do abortions?” Her response, “I don’t think people should go into OBGYN if they’re going to refuse to do the most common procedures that OBGYN’s do.” This gives clear indication that Robinson and other New Mexico abortion industry workers have the mindset that there should be no choice for medical students or OBGYN’s to opt out of performing abortions. We have personally been told how the faculty staff at UNM treats students who opt out of abortion training, they are belittled and looked down upon.
These latest videos have given us a glimpse into the heart of the abortion cartel. These people know that they’re killing babies, in fact they revel in it. They know that what we’ve been showing through abortion victim photography and when we say that, “Abortion Kills Children”…it is TRUE. Our country is at a point where we must apply the necessary pressure to stop this needless murder once and for all.
How is it that abortionists can admit that they’re killing human beings in a violent manner and Roe vs. Wade still remains in effect? All the blinders need to come off and, “We the People” have the responsibility to demand an end to this atrocity.
Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, with Priests for Life, who we work closely with in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has a decisive strategy to end pre-born child killing in this nation. Protests leading to a national strike, where we all refuse to go to work or spend any money, bringing the nation to a halt. This decisive strategy has the potential to END abortion outright if enough people embrace it.
The pro-life movement is doing a lot of great and necessary work but all of our great efforts are merely a bandaid and will never end pre-born child killing entirely. Thanks to these leaked videos we can clearly see the mindset of the abortionists and those in the deepest levels of the abortion cartel. Now is the time to protest and to demand that this country and its leaders deal with the death and dead bodies that are piling up in our communities.

As pro-life missionaries we came here 5 years ago to make New Mexico abortion free. To have ALL three abortion clinics come under scrutiny in one week is a small victory!
As Christians reflecting Christ, we must be the light shining the truth into the darkness. It is our responsibility to rise above the status quo and apply the necessary pressure and to be the salt which has the ability to preserve our communities.
Albuquerque has a notorious reputation because of the killing centers that are located here but we are trying to change that. We want this city to be a safe haven for precious pre-born children, our modern day “Least of These.”

How Much Money Does it Take For New Mexico GOP Leadership to Turn A Blind Eye To Baby Body Part Harvesting?

Albuquerque, NM- As congressional hearings regarding Planned Parenthood’s aborted baby part selling practices are still underway, New Mexico legislators have asked questions of their own to the University of New Mexico’s Health Sciences Center.
On July 23, 2015 a meeting was held to discuss any potential illegal activity regarding the use and or sale of aborted baby body parts that may be occurring at the University of New Mexico with several New Mexico legislators and the Chancellor of the Health Sciences Center, Paul Roth M.D.
This video and those that followed have opened the eyes of the nation to the reality that aborted baby parts are sold by Planned Parenthood to biotech companies for a profit, it also raised suspicion about the practices of abortion facilities in New Mexico.
According to the New Mexico Campaign Finance website, just seven days after this meeting between Roth and New Mexico legislators, Roth made a $500 donation to the Don Tripp Speaker PAC.
Don Tripp is the first New Mexican Republican Speaker of the House in 60 years. Roth on the other hand is an avid abortion supporter and for several years in a row has tried to pass Embryonic Stem Cell Research bills at the New Mexico legislature.
Protest ABQ would like to know why Paul Roth gave an uncharacteristic donation to the Republican Speaker of the House, could it be that he doesn’t want Republican leadership asking anymore questions about what the University of New Mexico is doing with the remains of aborted babies?
In 2012, Roth donated to Senator Michael Sanchez (D) the current Majority Floor Leader and ActBlue New Mexico, “a non-profit, building fundraising technology for the left.”
The University of New Mexico is also a research institution which would lend itself to the practice of using aborted baby parts for medical research.New Mexico law forbids the use of aborted babies in medical research.
“The University of New Mexico, a publicly funded institution, is entrenched in promoting abortion and an overall pro-death agenda. These questions remain: What did Paul Roth discuss in the meeting with Republican legislators? Why did Paul Roth donate to Republican leadership seven days after this closed door meeting?
Speaker Don Tripp should return Mr. Roth’s $500, and if he’s being pressured or tempted to turn a blind eye to what the University of New Mexico is doing with aborted baby body parts, we encourage him to keep probing to ensure that there is not any illegal activity taking place. The state of New Mexico needs leaders who can’t be bought or silenced, our future depends on it,” stated Bud Shaver, Executive Director of Protest ABQ.

Giving Hope to the Hopeless…In the Name of Jesus!

Albuquerque, NM- On October 2, 2015 Glenn Beck interviewed David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) on The Blaze. The CMP released a series of videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s aborted baby body part selling scheme and have sent shock waves through the world. These videos have given every single one of us a glimpse of just how far the abortion cartel has embraced evil by ending human lives and profiting from the harvested organs, tissues and limbs.

During this interview Daleiden shares what he considered to be a face to face encounter with evil. During all of his hours inside of Planned Parenthood abortion clinics, witnessing the remains of aborted children, and speaking to countless abortionists, he names one of Albuquerque’s late-term abortionists, Shelley Sella as his first encounter with “Incarnate Evil“. This encounter with Sella occurred early on during his investigation of Planned Parenthood where Sella lives and performs abortions while in California when she’s not killing babies in New Mexico up to the day of birth.
An excerpt from Daleidon’s interview details this encounter:
“And while I was speaking with her (Sella)… all of a sudden she looked straight in my eyes, and I saw a flash from one side to the other, and all of a sudden, her eyes looked really hard and mean and aggressive.”
“And for the first time during this entire project, I felt really afraid, like an actual fear, a fight-or-flight kind of response. I felt very exposed, like she knew everything about me. And then all of a sudden … back to laughing and joking, totally casual, normal. And I talked about that with several people afterwards, and on some level, we feel like that was the predator look or the predator instinct that you see in someone who is accustomed to killing people. This is a late-term abortion doctor who has terminated many, many, many big babies over the years.”
Daleiden concluded, “That was probably the most significant moment that I had kind of early on encountering, as you said, the evil that we were going to be directly in contact (with).”
An integral part of Boyd’s plan to market and perform late-term abortions in New Mexico was to employ late-term abortion “specialists”, Shelley Sella and Susan Robinson.
The only botched abortion that the NMMB bothered to investigate was performed by Sella on a 35 week pregnant woman from New York state. The woman, who had a previous c-section, experienced a ruptured uterus at Southwestern Women’s Options during the course of her four day procedure to kill her baby.
From a Christian perspective, we are at war against (as David Daleiden articulated best) incarnate “Evil.” We get up every morning and ask ourselves, “What more can we do to work to end abortion in this state?” For 5 years nearly all of our efforts have been shut down to the point where we are now exploring legal action to get some projects moving again.
When we spoke to a church in Flagstaff last week, we shared with our audience that one of the top reasons that we believe God brought us to New Mexico is the acute demonic stronghold that persists here. There can be no doubt about this when you look at all of the state’s national rankings and you look at it’s largest city of Albuquerque through spiritual eyes.
Many pro-life leaders that we have spoken to over the past five years have expressed that they have little hope for New Mexico, however, we do have hope and will continue to press on. But we need your prayers.
We have put Albuquerque on the map, it is now known nationally as the Late-Term Abortion Capital of America.
We are pro-life missionaries and even when so called pro-life political leaders turn a blind eye and try to stop our efforts we remain steadfast.

In the month of September we worked hard at pushing back the darkness in Albuquerque as well as planting seeds of life in the hearts of many.
We were blessed to sponsor the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children with several other local pro-life groups. With about 70 in attendance we held a solemn service to remember the victims of abortion, the pre-born children who’ve been killed since 1973. It’s so important for us to hold these types of events so as to make sure we don’t forget what we’re in this battle for. It’s easy to get distracted but we must remain steadfast in our goal of ending this grave injustice once and for all.
Standing Up For Our Rights: 12 hour Protest
This month we stood in solidarity with Pro-Life Waco and sponsored the first EVER “Dawn to Dusk” 12 hour protest on a freeway overpass in Albuquerque. We actually hold weekly protests on this particular overpass with no real problem, since it is a public space.
This month however, within an hour of us setting up, NM State Police and NM Department of Transportation launched their battle to remove us. Using administration code and ridiculous claims that our banners were hindering the structural integrity of the overpass they remained persistent throughout the day to remove our constitutional and peaceful presence from the overpass.
We stood firm and stood up for our right to educate the public with the truth. No one was arrested and no citations were issued, we are looking into filing a complaint due to the harassment we endured.

Social Tension is Necessary in our Efforts to End Abortion
The connection between the efforts of NMDOT to shut down our overpass protest and the efforts of Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry to trample on our right to drive the truth truck in ABQ neighborhoods are abundantly clear now.
It is no coincidence that 2 attempts were made to hide what is happening in our city. Satan himself wants the truth hidden! So who do we side with when we refuse to show the truth? Let’s face it: No one wants to see what abortion does to children, least of all the pro-aborts and sadly even those who claim to be pro-life, side with the pro-aborts, when they attempt to revoke our right to show the true victims of abortion to our depraved city.

If we don’t plant these seeds, who will? Even though we are not a political group we exposed Pat Davis who is running for ABQ city council to his neighbors. Davis, a leftist activist, has aligned himself with our opposition since the day we moved here as missionaries.
He wants to be city council president but we think he’s too extreme and will not help make the city a better place for women and least of all children. If we weren’t willing to oppose him, no one else would have.

This month we, under the ministry banner of Protest ABQ, we mailed postcards to residents in Albuquerque’s District 6 to inform voters about the pro-abortion and anti-woman position that Pat Davis champions. Why? Because if we don’t, who will?
There is no other group that is willing to hold leaders and those who aspire to lead in our city accountable, so the burden lies with us.
We have also been commissioned, by Operation Rescue in 2010, to make NM abortion free but how will this happen if the tough job of exposing and protesting pre-born child killing is neglected?
Pat Davis and his minions have filed a complaint against us for the mailers. They merely want to silence us and hide the truth of what they support.
This aside, our self proclaimed pro-life Mayor Richard Berry recorded a video calling for Protest ABQ to cease exercising our first amendment free speech rights in Albuquerque neighborhoods.
Mayor Berry has not done one thing to stop abortions in his city, known nationally as the late term abortion capital of America. Members of Protest ABQ have sought a meeting with him for over a year to no avail.
So the question remains: What good are you Mayor Berry if you pander to the pro- aborts, while neglecting the plight of the pre-born children murdered in your city every day of the week?
The Mayor’s audacity is a prime example of the nonsense that continues to perpetuate abortion in this state and what we have been dealing with in NM for the past 5 years.
This wicked place is under a demonic stronghold and our leaders who claim to be with us are blinded by distractions that keep them from doing their jobs.
It’s no wonder that New Mexico is the Abortion Capital of America with leaders like Susana Martinez and Mayor Richard Berry, they are more concerned about thier own agendas and pandering to the Pro-Abortion Left, than fulfilling the responsibilities that their constituents elected them into office to fulfill…”For such a time as this.”

Pastor Richard Mansfield, New Beginnings Church to speak at memorial site as part of National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children, Saturday, September 12
This event comes in the wake of series of undercover videos showing top officials at Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion chain, scheming to sell by body parts of aborted babies for profit.
“When Planned Parenthood looks at the broken body of an aborted baby, they see a commodity they can exploit for profit. But we see a tiny brother or sister who deserves to be mourned for and solemnly buried,” said Bud Shaver, Executive Director, Protest ABQ, one of the organizers of the Day of Remembrance in Albuquerque. “Visiting the places where these children are memorialized cuts through all the rhetoric surrounding abortion. We will never know these unnamed victims of abortion, but we will never forget them—or stop fighting to restore legal protection to unborn children”
The Day of Remembrance is being organized by three national pro-life groups—Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Priests for Life and the Pro-Life Action League—to humanize the unborn victims of abortion by raising awareness of their burial places and other sites dedicated to their memory. The bodies of tens of thousands of aborted children have been retrieved from trash bins, landfills and other locations and buried at gravesites across the country.
At AbortionMemorials.com, visitors can learn the stories of how many of these children were killed, how they were found, and the details of their burial. The website also lists hundreds of memorial sites dedicated to the victims of abortion throughout the United States.
All are welcome to attend this event and families are encouraged to attend with their children. Please also feel free to bring flowers to lay at the memorial site at St John Vianney Church.

More than 77,000 people took to the streets across the country in one day to peacefully protest America’s Abortion “Goliath.”

The media paints an inaccurate picture of pro-life people who protest, this protest was peaceful and powerfully effective in getting the truth out by simply taking a public stand.”Our protests are powerful and effective, always peaceful and law abiding. Albuquerque, NM- On August 22nd pro-life Americans mobilized like never before in over 340 cities across the nation in 49 states to #ProtestPP. There was a great turnout in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the media reported 500 our count was around 600! God is faithful to bring out His people for such a time as this!Thanks to everyone who showed up out on the street!
A common inquiry among those who emailed us prior to the August 22nd #Protest PP event in Albuquerque was to ask what the protest would be like because for many, this would be their first. We explained that as Christians we conduct ourselves in a peaceful and law abiding manner at every protest, we are ambassadors for Christ above all else.
Our friend Mark Harrington Executive Director of Created Equal and national organizer of #ProtestPP said it best, “Peaceful Protest is as American as apple pie and baseball.”
Protest is what we have been calling for here in New Mexico with Fr. Imbarrato due to the pro-abortion political climate and statewide leadership that continues to ignore the killing of our pre-born neighbors. Protest is the proper response to this bloodshed and is what will make us a force to be reckoned with as we stop giving passes to those who profit from, condone and support pre-born child killing.

Another testimony relayed to us is from a Pastor who attended the #ProtestPP event for his first protest.
“While standing on the corner of the street protesting Planned Parenthood, a young man drove by us and then proceeded to park his car and came over to yell and curse at a whole line of us for being in his neighborhood.”
The Pastor had never experienced such treatment and stood silently in prayer asking for an opportunity to speak with this young man. The man then approached the Pastor and a conversation began about what the protest was actually about. The Pastor explained that, “literally across the street from your home is a killing center that not only murders pre-born children but also harvests and sells their organs and tissues for an extra profit.” The man was taken aback as if scales were removed from his eyes! He then proceeded to go and apologize to everyone he had yelled at and then he picked up a sign and then joined the protest alongside the Pastor!
The Pastor walked away on Saturday with the realization that Christians must be active in the public square because if we’re not, then people simply won’t hear the truth and have an opportunity to end the killing of innocent children right across the street for their home!

Albuquerque, NM- On August 22nd, Pro-Life Americans held the largest pro-life protest in American history!
Over 350 cities across 49 states…and also in 5 countries!
The Washington Examiner reported, “Jim Sedlak, vice president of the American Life League, said he’s never before seen anti-abortion groups hold such a coordinated Planned Parenthood protest before. ‘There’s never been one quite like this.’”
New Mexicans also held the largest protest EVER against the killing business of Planned Parenthood in their state. The Albuquerque protest drew 500-600 New Mexicans out to protest the only Planned Parenthood surgical abortion center in the state. There were protests also held in Farmington and Las Cruces New Mexico.

Many in attendance expressed their encouragement of seeing so many of God’s people out to protest evil and affirm what must be stopped, the murder of New Mexico’s children. Many of those who attended mentioned that this was the first time that they had ever protested at an abortion clinic.

During the press conference Tara Shaver, Spokesperson for Protest ABQ spoke to the fact that, 5 state governors have de-funded Planned Parenthood and 13 states have launched criminal investigations into Planned Parenthood’s baby body part for profit scheme. All the while New Mexico fully funds abortion through state Medicaid with our tax dollars and abortion facilities are telling patients that their babies remains may be used in medical research which violates New Mexico law.

Furthermore, is it any surprise that NM is currently ranked 49th for children’s well-being, when our leaders continue to ignore the plight of the smallest children in our state? Every pro-life person is rightly outraged and disgusted by the crimes against humanity taking place in abortion killing and harvesting centers yet our self-proclaimed pro-life Governor has done nothing to make sure that these crimes are not being committed in her state.

It is completely unacceptable that Governor Martinez can call for an investigation into an EPA spill but refuses to use the power of the executive to stop even Late-term abortions that are performed each week in her state. Governor Susana Martinez has abandoned New Mexico’s future, our children, by her unwillingness to take direct action against out of control and unregulated abortion clinics in New Mexico.In the News
Dan and Laura Rosecrans representing The HUB of New Mexico both gave accounts of the protest with Dan stating, “There have been protests of Planned Parenthood at this site in recent weeks, but none the size of this gathering. One woman who protests frequently at the San Mateo facility wept as she described the encouragement in seeing so many out to protest the killing and selling of baby body parts. Her prayer, she said, is that Saturday’s turnout will lead to more people standing for life…”
Laura shared that, “Today there were HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of Knights in Shining Armor. There were HUNDREDS of protectors of life standing protesting against the dragon of what is Planned Parenthood. There were HUNDREDS of valiant soldiers standing in the gap to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH thus being the protectors of the many women who are even now – today – considering abortion. Protectors of the precious babies who are facing a possible end to their lives in a horrific death at the hands of Planned Parenthood.”
KOB 4 News quoted Tara as stating, “It’s no surprise, they (Planned Parenthood) kill babies and so for them to go and sell the body parts is not a shocking revelation. It’s something we’ve been believing that’s been happening in the abortion industry, so this further validates how nefarious they are.”
The ABQ Journal newspaper reported, “It was one of was one of many rallies at Planned Parenthood clinics throughout the country on Saturday. Protesters held signs with depictions of aborted fetuses, messages about Planned Parenthood selling fetus parts and signs that blasted New Mexico political leaders for allowing abortions to take place in the state. Some people chanted prayers and read Bible passages at passing traffic.”
Fr. Imbarrato sums up best how our movement must proceed: “Now that we, the Pro-Life movement, have embraced the word ‘protest,’ the media calls us ‘demonstrators’ and call what we do ‘rallies.’ I am convinced that the liberal elite across the abortion, political, media, and education spectrum have been calling us ‘protesters’ in the past to intimidate us from doing what we did yesterday i.e. ‘protest.’ I believe their greatest fear has been and is that the Pro-Life movement will become a protest movement which is what they saw yesterday and it has shaken them to the core. We must continue to protest in everything we do and everywhere we can. We must not just keep the pressure on but increase it (always peacefully and prayerfully) by where we protest and whom we protest.”

Albuquerque, NM- On August 22, 2015 over 50 national Pro-Life organizations including Protest ABQ are co-sponsoring, #ProtestPP, the largest nationwide protest of Planned Parenthood in its history.
Over 280 cities are signed up to hold protests at Planned Parenthood abortion facilities in 47 states…and counting! These protests are being held to further oppose the atrocities of Planned Parenthood which include the recent videos released by the Center for Medical Progress that expose their practice of selling the body parts of aborted babies. Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion provider. Breitbart reports, “According to its annual report, Planned Parenthood performed 327,653 abortions in 2013.” Planned Parenthood also receives more than half a BILLION dollars EVERY year from American taxpayers.
Protest ABQ has organized the protest in Albuquerque, New Mexico and will co-lead the protest with Fr. Stephen Imbarrato of Priests for Life at the Planned Parenthood surgical center located at 701 San Mateo Blvd. NE. The protest will be held from 9AM-11AM (MT) we encourage and welcome everyone including families with children. A press conference will also be held at 10:30AM.
“It’s time for the pro-life movement to become a protest movement and recognize our civil responsibility to peacefully assemble to allow our collective voices to reach the ears of those in positions of authority. It has been reported that the radical abortion rights group, Stop Patriarchy, has called for counter protests on August 22nd. In an e-mail sent out by the group, they can muster up counter protests in only 6 (of the scheduled 280) cities nation-wide. Albuquerque is one of the 6 cities that they are vowing to counter protest.
Stop Patriarchy whose mantra is “Abortion on Demand and Without Apology,” which really equates to “I want to be able kill my baby for any reason up to the day of birth with your tax-dollars and without apology” is known for being opposed to the so-called war on women’s right to kill their children.Ironically, they ignore the fact that half of the babies killed by abortion are female and that abortion is the ultimate degradation of women who are the only gender that have the unique ability of bringing new life into this world.
Back in 2014 a small group of “rowdy” Stop Patriarchy counter protestors invaded an Albuquerque hotel to disrupt a banquet held every year by a local Pro-life group.
The disruption by the militant pro-abortion group Stop Patriarchy was caught on video.
Protest ABQ has contacted the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) and alerted them to the potential for counter protesters in Albuquerque on August 22. This is to ensure that they protect the safety of everyone in attendance and to make sure everyone’s constitutional free-speech rights are protected.

On Saturday, August 22, pro-life Americans throughout the country will gather at Planned Parenthood locations nationwide to protest the abortion giant’s barbaric practice of aborting babies and selling their body parts.
The Albuquerque Journal published two stories, Aug. 9th in the Sunday edition, about Planned Parenthood and even mentioned our upcoming Planned Parenthood protest. The documentaries released by the Center for Medical Progress have shaken the killing business of Planned Parenthood to it’s core but we must keep the pressure on.
In the wake of the horrific videos exposing this practice, now is the time for Christians to stand up and demand an end to the nation’s largest abortion provider:

Dear Friends and Partners in the battle for LIFE,
This month has been chock full of positive pro-life momentum nationwide. The biggest news has surrounded the Center for Medical Progress’ investigative videos that has completely blown the lid off of the abortion industry’s (namely Planned Parenthood) motives by exposing their for profit practice of selling aborted baby organs, parts and tissues. These videos have also proven to the unbeliever that abortion kills tiny human babies.
It has been incredible to see Planned Parenthood on the run with nowhere to hide but also to see the pro-life movement re-energized in this battle to end pre-born child killing in the womb. Really it’s no surprise that an entity that kills children would then turn around and sell their body parts for an extra buck, but seeing the videos of cold and callous abortionists in conjunction with aborted baby parts that are being sifted through and examined for purchase reminds us what we can sometimes forget: that this is a battle for the lives of pre-born babies and if we do nothing, no one else is going to!
For us here in the Late Term Abortion Capital we have been in protest mode and also in determination mode, to see abortion clinics close-especially those in violation of NM law.
It is illegal federally to sell aborted baby body parts and NM also has it’s own law forbidding the selling of body parts in general and also explicitly forbids using aborted baby body parts in medical research.
We obtained the consent form from Southwestern Women’s Options for years 2012 and 2015 that every woman must sign before her abortion. Both versions of this mandatory form force women to relinquish their babies body parts to be used in medical research. This is the same guise that PP is selling their victims body parts under.
After we uncovered the NM law I filed a formal complaint with the NM Attorney General asking for an investigation into SWO’s “medical use of aborted babies body parts” stipulation.
Statements have been issued by the Lt. Governor of NM, John Sanchez denouncing PP’s inhumane practices and Governor Martinez broke her silence after we protested at the NM capital building on July 28th.
Is this the breakthrough we’ve been working for here in NM where the hearts of leaders are as hard as the hot desert sand?

Protest ABQ is a sponsor of this event and will be co-leading the Albuquerque protest with Fr. Stephen Imbarrato of Priests for Life at Planned Parenthood surgical center in Albuquerque.
Last week, Protest ABQ filed a formal criminal complaint with the Attorney General of New Mexico and two consent forms, one obtained by Pro-Life Witness from 2012 and a newly obtained consent form, which was obtained by Protest ABQ, this year 2015 from Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO) were submitted as proof of their violation of New Mexico law by using aborted baby body parts in medical research.
In response to the #WomenBetrayed rally and press conference hosted by Fr. Imbarrato and Protest ABQ on July 28th at the Santa Fe Capital building, Gov. Susana Martinez joined several national governors from all across the nation demanding an investigation of Planned Parenthood at the Federal level.In an article that appeared on the front page of the Albuquerque Journal the following day, Gov. Martinez’s office “put out a statement reiterating that the governor ‘is pro-life.’ She ‘has followed this issue very closely, and she is appalled by the practices alleged in the recent videos. She supports Congress investigating this issue,’ spokesman Michael Lonergan said.”
As a result of the pressure Protest ABQ has applied locally, demanding an investigation of New Mexico abortion facilities, New Mexico has joined 10 other states that are calling for an investigation into Planned Parenthood.
In an article published on July 30, 2015 by the NM Political Report Rep. Rod Montoya, R-Farmington, said he is requesting an investigation of Planned Parenthood by Attorney General Hector Balderas stating, “I am currently drafting a request for the Attorney General to investigate Planned Parenthood and their operations in New Mexico,” Montoya wrote in an email. “I am also looking into legislative options for the upcoming 30 day session.”
In addition, on July 30th, the Bishops of New Mexico issued a statement urging “the civil authorities of our State to be vigilant that these practices of the sale of fetal tissue do not happen in New Mexico.” To read the full statement click here.
“It is encouraging that both civil and religious leaders are speaking up in New Mexico and are calling for both local and federal investigations of abortion facilities to make sure that the inhumane practice of harvesting and selling baby body parts isn’t occurring. At least one New Mexico abortion facility, Southwestern Women’s Options, is involved in this illegal activity. It’s imperative that protests continue until these places of death are all shut down.” stated Bud Shaver, Executive Director of Protest ABQ.
