This month in New Mexico we have been so encouraged as we joined with fellow pro-lifers to pray and fast on Wednesdays for an end to abortion in our state. We hope that you will join us through March 28th in this spiritual discipline. See below for details on how you can be involved.
We were also blown away by how God has used our efforts over the years to bring the Republican Party of New Mexico to a point where they are willing to boldly stand for life. The Lord is doing amazing things and we are simply following His lead. Thank you for investing in the work He has called to as full time pro-life missionaries here in New Mexico.
New Mexico Election Rundown 2018: We Can’t Lose Any More Ground This November
As we work to make New Mexico an abortion free state where every pre-born child is valued and protected, we are acutely aware of the implications of the upcoming November election. New Mexico continues in a dismal direction as we rank lowest in the areas that are most important. New Mexico is second to last in child well being, the worst state in the nation to raise a family and was found to be the worst run state in the nation.
It’s important that we don’t lose any more ground, the progressive liberals in New Mexico want nothing more than total control of our state and that will dig us into an even deeper hole. Abortion Free New Mexico worked hard to get Michelle Garcia Holmes on the ballot for Lt. Governor and she is joined at the top by Steve Pearce who is running for Governor. Thank you to everyone who signed petitions and gathered signatures for her. Michelle and Steve Pearce are running unopposed on the Republican ticket to lead this state with the conviction of their principles.
As a family, this month we attended the opening of the Republican statewide candidate headquarters. We were so blessed to meet many of the candidates running for office who want to stop playing politics and turn things around for New Mexico. Tara also shared a table with Michelle Garcia Holmes at the Republican Primary Convention. The takeaway from this event is that the New Mexico Republican Party is not what it used to be when we made New Mexico our mission field 7 years ago. The party has unified collectively to become a group of people that are vocally pro-life, pro-family, pro-faith and are committed to working for the people of our state. In our 7 years of ministry in New Mexico we have never attended a Republican event because we were too busy holding RINO/PLINO’s (Republican/Pro Life – In Name Only) accountable for their complacency and inaction. We welcome this positive change that is clearly fruit of our labor over the years that has truly paid off!
Our sense is that the tide is shifting in New Mexico and if we unite together to help get like minded people of conviction elected that our state will move in a positive direction. New Mexico will no longer be known as a place of corruption, late term abortion and violence. Your voice and your vote matter. New Mexico needs positive change with leaders who fear the Lord and will work to restore justice for the babies. United In Prayer and Fasting to End Abortion In New Mexico
Abortion is a deeply rooted demonic stronghold, not only in New Mexico but across this nation. In 1 Corinthians 15: 25-26, Paul tells us that death is God’s final enemy that will be destroyed, so we know that death, especially that of the innocent child in the womb is outside of God’s will. In 2018 we felt the Lord impress upon us that we need to focus more in fighting this battle for life in New Mexico through concentrated prayer and fasting.
Abortion Free New Mexico has been asked to join in weekly prayer and fasting for an end to abortion in New Mexico for six weeks, every Wednesday, from February 14th- March 28th. We invite those in the body of Christ who are able to join us in this spiritual discipline to break the stronghold and spirit of death that surrounds us.
The scriptures are clear that prayer and fasting can bring the power and presence of God to work on our behalf and cast out demonic strongholds. Each Wednesday are sending our email subscribers a passage of scripture to pray and meditate on.
The first week’s scripture reading was from Matthew 17: 14-21, Jesus speaks to his disciples as if he were speaking to us today: “And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.” Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Over the next several weeks of united prayer and fasting, together we will call upon the Lord to break the strongholds that are keeping abortion in New Mexico. Prayer Points: An end to all abortion in New Mexico. For strongholds that are keeping abortion in New Mexico to be broken. For the closure of the last 5 abortion facilities in the state. For the women considering an abortion. For the conversion of all abortion facility workers. For the women who’ve participated in a previous abortion and need healing. For the upcoming 2018 New Mexico election.
Note: Fasting can be done in many ways. Some may choose to fast from sunrise to sunset. Others may choose to fast from 6:00am-3:00pm as a partial fast. For others, a fast might be one full meal for the day, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal.
This is a united effort between both Non-Catholic and Catholic Christians who are committed to ending abortion in New Mexico.
