Week 3: United In Prayer and Fasting to End Abortion In New Mexico

Week 3: United In Prayer and Fasting to End Abortion In New Mexico

Albuquerque, NM- This week we continue to seek the Lord through prayer and fasting asking Him to break the strongholds that are keeping abortion in New Mexico. Over the weekend, at the Republican Primary Convention, where Abortion Free New Mexico shared a table with Michelle Garcia Holmes, who is running for Lieutenant Governor, something we heard many times was that, “God will not bless our state until we end abortion.”  This united effort of prayer and fasting is an important spiritual discipline, that together we can utilize, to actively and sacrificially call upon the Lord and join Him in pursuing justice for the babies deprived of life due to a deeply entrenched radical abortion agenda in our state.

Over the next four weeks please join us as we continue to faithfully pray and fast to fight this battle spiritually to end all abortions in New Mexico, we are trusting and believing that the Lord is already using this united effort to accomplish His will for our state.

Each Wednesday we will send you a passage of scripture to pray and meditate on.

Fr. Stephen Imbarrato of Priests for Life leads this week’s reflection and scripture reading from Matthew 4: 1-3(a),

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him…

Fr. Stephen Imbarrato calls us to battle abortion, the ultimate sin of convenience, by being inconvenienced ourselves through prayer and fasting,

“As we pray for an end of abortion, do pro-life activism for the end of pre-born child killing, and of course fasting united with prayer is very, very powerful. I tell people all of the time, pray inconveniently for an end to pre-born child killing, there is no more inconvenient place to pray than in front of an abortion mill. And then fast, fast for an end to pre-born child killing. There are many ways to fast, it is a detachment, really, of this world. Abortion is the ultimate sin of convenience, Mother Teresa said, ‘What a poverty it is that a child must die, so we can live as we want.'”

Watch Fr. Stephen Imbarrato’s prayer and full reflection for this week:

Week 2: United In Prayer and Fasting to End Abortion In New Mexico

Week 2: United In Prayer and Fasting to End Abortion In New Mexico

Albuquerque, NM- Last week we began the first of six weeks of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion in New Mexico. The scriptures tell us that prayer and fasting combined hold power to break strongholds that prayer alone can not. Thank you to those of you who are standing with us sacrificially over the next five weeks to ask the Lord to break demonic strongholds and to loose the chains of injustice so that New Mexico will become Abortion Free.

Last Wednesday right at sunset as we were breaking our fast, it began to rain at our house and we praised the Lord for what felt like a breakthrough as New Mexico has faced severe drought. Hopefully, we will also begin to see breakthrough in the deep spiritual drought our state is facing. It is easy to see how broken this state has become due to late term abortion, poverty, crime and deeply entrenched corruption.

Over the next five weeks we will continue to faithfully pray and fast to fight this battle spiritually to end all abortions in New Mexico, we are trusting and believing that the Lord is already using this united effort to accomplish His will for our state.

Each Wednesday we will send you a passage of scripture to pray and meditate on.

This week’s scripture reading comes from Isaiah 58:6,

“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?”

Over the next five weeks of united prayer and fasting together we will call upon the Lord to break the strongholds that are keeping abortion in New Mexico.

United In Prayer and Fasting to End Abortion In New Mexico

United In Prayer and Fasting to End Abortion In New Mexico

Albuquerque, NM- Abortion is a deeply rooted demonic stronghold, not only in New Mexico but across this nation. In 1 Corinthians 15: 25-26, Paul tells us that death is God’s final enemy that will be destroyed, so we know that death, especially that of the innocent child in the womb is outside of God’s will. In 2018 we felt the Lord impress upon us that we need to focus more in fighting this battle for life in New Mexico through concentrated prayer and fasting.

Abortion Free New Mexico has been asked to join in weekly prayer and fasting for an end to abortion in New Mexico over the next six Wednesdays from February 14th- March 28th. We invite those in the body of Christ who are able to join us in this spiritual discipline to break the stronghold and spirit of death that surrounds us.

The scriptures are clear that prayer and fasting can bring the power and presence of God to work on our behalf and cast out demonic strongholds. Each Wednesday we will send you a passage of scripture to pray and meditate on. This week’s scripture reading comes from Matthew 17: 14-21, Jesus speaks to his disciples as if he were speaking to us today:
“And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.” Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

Over the next six weeks of united prayer and fasting together we will call upon the Lord to break the strongholds that are keeping abortion in New Mexico.

Prayer Points:

  • An end to all abortion in New Mexico.
  • For strongholds that are keeping abortion in New Mexico to be broken.
  • For the closure of the last 5 abortion facilities in the state.
  • For the women considering an abortion.
