    Can You Spare One Hour to Ensure that No Sidewalk is Without the Savior?

    Albuquerque, New Mexico- Join Abortion Free New Mexico on Friday, April 1st for the launch of our new prayer initiative, “No Sidewalk Without the Savior, which coincides with Faith to Action Friday, outside of the University of New Mexico’s free standing abortion facility, UNM Center for Reproductive Health (UNMCRH). This facility performs late term abortions up to 24 weeks (6 months) of pregnancy.

    The Spanish speaking “Isleta Church of Christ: Iglesia De Cristo” is the closest church (0.5 mile) from the UNM Center for Reproductive Health late-term abortion facility. After reaching out to, fellowshipping with and sharing a presentation with them about abortion in New Mexico and this new prayer initiative, “No Sidewalk Without the Savior” they enthusiastically agreed to allow us to meet on their property.

    Since April 1st is the launch date for this new initiative and it coincides with Faith to Action Friday we will gather first at Isleta Church of Christ for collective prayer & speakers, then we will take a short prayer walk together to the UNMCRH abortion facility.​

    • When: Friday, April 1, 2022 (10AM-11AM)
    • Where: Meet at the parking lot of Isleta Church of Christ: Iglesia De Cristo located at 2424 Miles Rd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106.
    • Event Details: 10AM for prayer, special speakers and a short (0.5 mile) prayer walk to the UNM Center For Reproductive Health abortion facility concluding at 11AM.

    ​In Matthew 18:20 Jesus tells us that, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Will you join us on the sidewalk at one of the darkest places in Albuquerque?

    “No Sidewalk Without the Savior” is an effort to make sure that two people are prayerfully present outside of the UNM Center for Reproductive Health abortion facility every hour that they are open, because where two or three gather in the name of Jesus, He is present in their midst. When the body of Christ is present and availible,  God is able to open hearts and minds to the reality of what is happening in our community and to also bring conviction to the women seeking abortions there.

    Abortion Free New Mexico is asking the pro-life community to come together and volunteer for just a one-hour weekly or monthly commitment at a location where the hope of Christ is so desperately needed. Will you join us to make sure that Jesus Christ is brought the sidewalk at one of Albuquerque’s darkest places?

    Albuquerque, New Mexico– Thank you for making all of our efforts here in the beautiful state of New Mexico possible and we would like to welcome our new subscribers! When we arrived in 2010 as pro-life missionaries, we never imagined how the Lord would move to awaken hearts and minds to life. Nor did we think that so much could be accomplished to build a culture of life and preserve the lives of the most vulnerable in our communities: Babies in the Womb. We are humbled to serve and are excited to share with you our next steps. This month we were busy lighting up the darkness, being active politically by encouraging New Mexico’s statewide 2022 candidates to sign our pro-life pledge and standing up for our freedoms.

    As you will see we have a powerful movie screening coming up as well as a new prayer initiative launching on April 1st. In the absence of pro-life laws, being strategic and being unified is key. Every step forward helps us reach our goal of an Abortion Free state. God bless you all.

    We are committed to continue our work to make New Mexico Abortion Free, as we increase our efforts in Albuquerque by establishing a stronger pro-life presence in our city. “No Sidewalk Without The Savior” is one way we can accomplish this and is currently being organized, by our amazing volunteers, as a month to month prayer initiative-launching on April 1st. The goal is to have two people praying every hour that the UNM Center for Reproductive Health is open, because we believe in the power of prayer to change hearts and minds. Have you ever thought about what the very last line of defense is for the baby in the womb who is scheduled to die? It lies with those who faithfully stand on the sidewalks ready and armed with love and resources.

    IN THE NEWS THIS MONTH:  

    Support the People’s Convoy Overpass Meetup hosted by Abortion Free New Mexico brought nearly 200 people out to greet the trucker convoy on their way to Washington D.C. We The People stood united for freedom.

    Stop Complying UNM!

    This month Abortion Free New Mexico  collaborated with New Mexico Peacekeepers in chalking at the University of New Mexico- UNM to urge the students to be “Wolves Not Sheep” (UNM mascot is a lobo wolf) and wrote messages of truth about health freedom.

    This month we were able to have a table at the Republican Party of Bernalillo County “Ignite the Fire Rally” at Legacy Church in Albuquerque and educate about how we are working to build a culture of life in our state.

    This month our family attended the Republican Party of New Mexico Pre-Primary Convention as delegates. We were proud to support the many candidates who signed our pro-life pledge.

    Albuquerque, New Mexico- This weekend the Republican Party of New Mexico will hold its pre-primary convention to select the candidates that will be on the June primary election ballot. Abortion Free New Mexico leaders are delegates and will be present to cast votes representing Bernalillo County. 

    Abortion Free New Mexico is pleased to release its most up to date list of candidates who have signed a simple yet solid pro-life pledge. This pledge serves as a tangible declaration that defending life is a priority to each candidate that signs it. It is an assurance for the voter to know where each candidate stands.

    Candidates who sign Abortion Free New Mexico’s pro-life pledge are not receiving an official endorsement. Abortion Free New Mexico does not endorse candidates, we simply let you know who stands for life and entrust you, the voter, with the responsibility to see where the candidates stand on other important issues. Life, however, is the preeminent issue when choosing a candidate to vote for because without life, nothing else matters.

    Abortion Free New Mexico provides the candidates an opportunity to solidify their pro-life position by signing the pro-life pledge but the voters, their constituents, ultimately have to make the final decision who best represents them. Abortion Free New Mexico would love for every candidate to sign a pro-life pledge regardless of party affiliation. Please contact the candidates and see where they stand on other issues that are important to you. Vote your values and refuse to be silenced.

    Albuquerque, New Mexico- “No Sidewalk Without the Savior,” is a new ministry effort of Abortion Free New Mexico. We believe in the power of prayer to change hearts and minds, as we reflect the love of Jesus by extending grace and truth, at our city’s darkest and most hopeless places, abortion facilities. When two or more of God’s people gather for prayer, Our Savior is present and is able to light up the darkness and bring hope. (Matthew 18:20)

    The namesake of this initiative is in honor of our late friend and fellow pro-life abolitionist, Kortney Blythe Gordon. Kortney was the leader of our team while we served with the Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, where Tara and I began our pro-life journey, and her passion for pro-life activism was contagious. Kortney loved the Lord, His children and couldn’t wait to become a mom herself. Her dream came true when she married and conceived her daughter, Sophy (named in honor of Sophie Scholl). Tragically, she and Sophy went to be with the Lord after being hit by a drunk driver, while pregnant. Kortney told us that if she had her own sidewalk ministry, “No Sidewalk Without the Savior” is what she would call it. This has stuck with us all of these years and we are proud to honor her memory in this very special way.

    “No Sidewalk Without the Savior” is being organized as a month to month prayer initiative where our goal is to have two people praying every hour that the UNM Center for Reproductive Health is open. Abortion Free New Mexico is utilizing day coordinators to recruit prayer volunteers, and there is still a great need for coordinators as the goal is to launch this prayerful presence on April 1, 2022.

    We are committed to continue our work to make New Mexico Abortion Free, as we increase our efforts in Albuquerque, by establishing a stronger pro-life presence in our city.

    Albuquerque is home to three surgical abortion facilities, Planned Parenthood, Southwestern Women’s Options and the University of New Mexico (UNM). Over the past decade we have worked to expose the fact that Southwestern Women’s Options is performing late-term abortions through all nine months of pregnancy. In fact, New Mexico has the national notorious reputation as, “The Late-Term Abortion Capital of the Country,” a designation we coined. As a result, there is a faithful sidewalk advocacy presence there, and thankfully CareNet brings their mobile ultrasound unit there weekly to help reach abortion minded women. Planned Parenthood in known as the nation’s largest abortion provider and is home to 40 Days For Life twice a year. In addition, the Catholic pro-life organization, Women’s Pregnancy Options (formerly known as Project Defending Life) is located next door and has a faithful sidewalk advocacy presence throughout the rest of the year.

    However, the University of New Mexico (UNM) has been flying under the radar with a minimal pro-life advocacy presence (only our Faith To Action Friday presence once a month). Unbeknownst to many, the University of New Mexico runs its own free standing abortion facility, UNM Center For Reproductive Health, that performs late-term abortions up to 24 weeks of pregnancy, that’s 6 months! As a tax funded institution, UNM has an endless supply of our tax dollars to fund their radical abortion agenda. In fact, according to our research, UNM is the heart of the abortion cartel here in New Mexico and in a shocking admission, openly celebrates abortion! ​

    Albuquerque, New Mexico- Faith To Action Friday has been postponed this month (2/4/22) due to extreme weather and unsafe driving conditions from New Mexico’s first winter storm of 2022. Faith To Action Friday will resume next month on March 4th. In the meantime prayerfully consider joining our team. Abortion Free New Mexico will be hosting our next team meeting on February 15, 2022.

    This year, in 2022, Abortion Free New Mexico wants to organize a constant prayerful presence starting with the UNM Center for Reproductive Health abortion facility for every hour that they are open. This is one of the darkest places in our city but it can become a beacon of hope as Christians rise up to be a voice for the voiceless and their mothers. 

    We will not only need daily prayer volunteers but we also need day coordinators that will help us recruit people from their own churches or network of influence. The pro-life community has a crucial opportunity to meet minded women where they are and that is at the local abortion facilities.

    “According to New Mexico vital statistics the abortion rate among New Mexico residents is on the decline. This affirms that as our efforts to expose the horrors of the abortion industry and reach out to women in crisis, New Mexico women are rejecting abortion and choosing life. That being said, as more New Mexico women are rejecting abortion, Albuquerque is GROUND ZERO for late-term abortion and is home to three surgical abortion facilities in New Mexico. One of which is run by the University of New Mexico and funded by our tax dollars,” stated Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico.
