OCTOBER 2018 NEWSLETTER: ELECTIONS MATTER

Dear Friends,

The upcoming election is less than 40 days away and in New Mexico it will absolutely determine whether or not the Land of Enchantment elects leaders who will stand for justice and righteousness or corruption and bedlam. As a missionary family, we have sought to simply hold candidates accountable over the years, both Republicans and Democrats. Now we are compelled to stand with the candidates whom we believe the Lord has called to serve as leaders in New Mexico. The republican candidates on the ballot in New Mexico, down the ticket, are as solid as it gets!

We have strong pro-life Christian candidates that are simply responding to the call to stand up and fight for the values that we hold so dear.

For example, Michael Hendricks who is running for NM Attorney General has vowed in his first 100 days of office to:

“Stop the Late Term Abortions in N.M. Late term Abortion is heinous. It is unlawful when performed outside of an accredited hospital NMSA 1978 §30-5-3©. It will be one of my priorities to close the abortion clinics with force if necessary.”

Also, Mick Rich (Top Right) running to represent New Mexico in the U.S. Senate. He recently hosted a “Canvass For Life” to help get out the pro-life vote. We were glad to join him and will continue to do so every weekend leading up to election day!

We need to send our best and brightest to Washington D.C. to help advance President TRUMP’s agenda!

We were invited by fellow Messianic believers to join them for Sukkot. We had the opportunity to share about our ministry and the upcoming election.

We joined Michelle Garcia Holmes at a local church as she shared her vision for New Mexico. She is running for Lt. Governor on the republican ticket with Steve Pearce for Governor.

Associated Press: UNM rejects request for ‘proper burial’ of fetal tissue

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A University of New Mexico official declined an anti-abortion group’s request for a “proper burial” for fetal tissue samples stored at the school for research. The Albuquerque Journal reports Tara and Bud Shaver, of Abortion Free New Mexico, asked Dr. Paul Roth, chancellor of the University of New Mexico UNM Health Sciences Center, to transfer 72 “aborted baby remains” to an Albuquerque mortuary “so that they may receive a proper burial.”

Albuquerque Journal: “Roth in a letter last month told the Shaver group that he realizes their offer was made ‘out of a place of thoughtfulness,’ but couldn’t agree to turn over the ‘tissue,’ which was anonymously donated by women who sought abortion care at an ‘outside facility.’

In a press release this week, Abortion Free New Mexico said Roth’s decision ‘promotes a culture of death in New Mexico.’

‘We are not talking about medical specimens or tissue, but human beings with inherent value, who deserve to be treated with dignity,’ the press release stated.

Roth still hasn’t decided what to do with the tissue, his Aug. 30 letter stated. The tissue was donated by women who had abortions at an Albuquerque clinic, Southwestern Women’s Options.”
