By Bud Shaver,
Albuquerque, New Mexico — On March 2, 2026, a beautiful baby boy named Nathan was born — a living testimony to what God can do when His people show up faithfully.
Last November, one of our Abortion Free New Mexico sidewalk outreach teams encountered a young couple outside an abortion facility in New Mexico. The couple spoke only Spanish and could not communicate in English, creating an immediate language barrier.
Earlier that day, they had visited one abortion center and were then directed to a sister location. When they arrived there, our sidewalk outreach team encountered them again.
Despite the language barrier, our volunteers were able to communicate using Google Translate, compassion, and practical support. Through that conversation, they shared encouragement, resources, and the hope found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
At the time, the mother was 24 weeks pregnant.
In the midst of difficult circumstances, she made a courageous decision.
She chose life.
The family lives in Dallas, Texas, and since that day they have received ongoing support from a caring mentor who has helped provide many of the items needed to welcome their baby into the world.
Now, months later, we rejoice to share that baby Nathan has been born healthy.
His name is fitting.
Nathan means “Gift of God.”
“Nathan is here today because someone stood on the sidewalk and offered hope. When Christians show up with compassion and truth, lives can change forever.”
— Tara Shaver, Abortion Free New Mexico
Stories like this remind us why sidewalk outreach matters so deeply.
When believers stand outside abortion facilities, they are not simply protesting injustice. They are offering hope, practical help, and the truth of the Gospel to women and families who may feel they have no other option.
Too often those sidewalks are places where tiny lives are lost and hearts are wounded forever.
But it does not have to be that way.
When the Church steps out in faith and believers show up with compassion and courage, lives can be saved and families can be transformed.
Baby Nathan is living proof.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support for this ministry.
