NM Election Rundown 2018: We Can’t Lose Any More Ground This November

Albuquerque, NM- As we work to make New Mexico an abortion free state where every pre-born child is valued and protected, we are acutely aware of the implications of the upcoming November election. New Mexico continues in a dismal direction as we rank lowest in the areas that are most important. New Mexico is second to last in child well being, the worst state in the nation to raise a family and was found to be the worst run state in the nation.

It’s important that we don’t lose any more ground, the progressive liberals in New Mexico want nothing more than total control of our state and that will dig us into an even deeper hole.

Abortion Free New Mexico worked hard to get Michelle Garcia Holmes on the ballot for Lt. Governor and she is joined at the top by Steve Pearce who is running for Governor. They are running unopposed on the republican ticket to lead this state with the conviction of their principles.

As a family, over the weekend, we attended the opening of the Republican statewide candidate headquarters. We were so blessed to meet many of the candidates running for office who want to stop playing politics and turn things around for New Mexico. A campaign flier for Michael Hendricks, who is running to replace current Attorney General Hector Balderas, says it best,

“New Mexico needs a bold independent minded leader who will not be beholden to anyone besides the people of our great state.”

Our sense is that the tide is shifting in New Mexico and if we unite together to help get like minded people of conviction elected that our state will move in a positive direction. New Mexico will no longer be known as a place of corruption, late term abortion and violence.

Your voice and your vote matter. New Mexico needs positive change with leaders who fear the Lord and will work to restore justice for the babies. Stay tuned for ways you can get involved to elect leaders who share our faith and values here in New Mexico.

45 Years Later, Corruption In New Mexico, We Are Here To End It

This January marked 45 years of legalized pre-born child killing in America. It is devastating to think of the multitudes of God’s masterpieces that have been deprived of life outside the womb. As a nation we must confess and repent of the sin of abortion that permeates our culture. These innocent babies desperately need us as a people to stand up for them, to act on their behalf and do everything in our power to protect them. As pro-life missionaries we are committed to doing this and to closing the remaining 5 abortion centers in our state. New Mexico will one day be an Abortion Free state. The Lord sustains us and your prayers, encouragement and support make our life saving efforts possible.

Sanctity of Life Month January 2018

This month, known as Sanctity of Life month, we were SO blessed to visit 5 different local pro-life churches. This was an answer to prayer as we set our minds to be more intentional in reaching out to churches to inspire, encourage and equip fellow believers to stand up for the babies. Please pray for all of the wonderful new people we met this month who are eager to be informed and find ways to plug in. It was so nice to meet all of you!

During this month we also joined fellow pro-lifers in Santa Fe for the annual SOLAUD march, we didn’t simply march though… we collected petition signatures for Michelle Garcia Holmes who needed help to get on the republican ballot to run for Lt. Governor of New Mexico. Please keep her in prayer as she heads into campaign season.

In Albuquerque, our friends organized some amazing efforts to light up the darkness. We joined them for a 2.5 mile 1st Annual March For Life in Albuquerque, around the University of New Mexico, the heart of the NM Abortion Cartel. We joined the pro-life Messianic community for prayer and fellowship on Shabbat, the eve of Pro-lIfe Sunday in ABQ as well…and then we took our prayerful presence out onto the streets to be a visible witness for life. Thank you for having us!

Collaboration with Priests for Life: Exposing Late Term Abortions Across America

We continued our months long collaboration with Priests for Life by continuing to expose late term abortion in America. Albuquerque is the late term abortion capital where abortions are performed up to the day of birth, but abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy occur nationwide. This month alone we released 14 undercover calls from 14 states where elective late term abortions are taking place on healthy moms carrying healthy babies. A total of 36 of these undercover calls have been made by Tara and were used as a means to educate the pro-life community, the general public and leading up to the senate vote on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

This nationwide investigation revealed that 28, over half of the states in our country, perform elective late term abortions beyond 5 months of pregnancy! Tara posed as 33 weeks of pregnant in one call to Albuquerque’s late term abortion center and was offered an appointment. Unfortunately, most politicians don’t want to end abortion (BUT WE DO) and the democrats in D.C. blocked the vote on this legislation that would protect babies from 20 weeks of pregnancy and beyond if passed.

Corruption in New Mexico: Attorney General Fails to Prosecute Abortion Cartel

In July 2015, Tara filed a formal complaint with New Mexico Attorney General, Hector Balderas’ office regarding late term abortion mill, Southwestern Women’s Options whom we believe to be in violation of at least one state law. The complaint was later amended to include another statute, the Maternal Fetal and Infant Experimentation Act.

Balderas, unfortunately, put his party and political aspirations before his Catholic faith and before the babies being slaughtered in New Mexico by finding no violation of either laws. Thankfully, at the request of Congressman Steve Pearce, the DOJ has asked the FBI to review the case, please pray with us that the FBI will take an honest look at these violations and prosecute these members of the New Mexico abortion cartel. Tara and our Attorney issued the following statements in response to Balderas’ decision.

“Laws that are overlooked and unenforced are a disservice to everyone, and in this case to the babies who are viewed as experimental research material instead of human beings. Balderas only furthers this mindset by failing to act justly in prosecuting those that are actively harvesting and transferring aborted baby remains. For any reasonable person this reality should shake us to our core and encourage us to keep moving forward seeking justice for all,” stated Tara Shaver, spokeswoman for Abortion Free New Mexico.

Angelo Artuso, Attorney for Abortion Free New Mexico issued the following statement:

“I am very disappointed but, unfortunately, not surprised by the Attorney General’s conclusions regarding the ongoing trade in baby body parts here in New Mexico.  After all, we live in a State where aborting a baby in utero is lawful through all nine months of pregnancy.  Under any common sense reading of New Mexico’s Maternal, Fetal and Infant Experimentation Act, the actions by SWO and UNM violate the law.  If the statute is not going to be enforced as written, then I would strongly urge the Legislature to revisit the question of whether an unborn child who has been lawfully killed in this State should be subjected to the further indignity of being carved up and experimented upon like a piece of animal flesh.  It is time for our elected officials to stop hiding behind convenient definitions which provide that an unborn child is not human, or not a person.  The use of aborted baby parts for any purpose should be repugnant to all civilized people.  To deny this truth is to join the ranks of Mao, Stalin, Idi Amin, Dr. Josef Mengele, and every other tyrant who deals with inconvenient people by denying that they are people.  I pray that New Mexico will find its way back to a higher standard.”

Thank you for standing with us for life!

We are a Christian missionary family serving in Albuquerque, NM. Putting our faith into action, for the past 7 years we have exposed Albuquerque as the late term abortion capital of the nation and have worked to bring accountability to an unregulated abortion industry that is killing children in their mothers wombs up to the day of birth.

In order to be the most effective in our pro-life ministry, we do this important work full time while homeschooling our children and raising them to have a biblical worldview. We rely solely on the provision of the Lord and individuals like you to provide for our daily needs.

    Blessings, Bud and Tara Shaver

    Please pray with us for:

    • Strongholds to be broken that are keeping abortion in New Mexico.

    • The Lord to give us wisdom and divine strategy to close New Mexico’s remaining 5 abortion facilities.

    • The opportunity to continue visiting pro-life churches to inspire and encourage fellow believers in the battle for life.

Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life and Bud and Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico released the following statement regarding the two latest calls:

“In our undercover call, the abortion cartel in Minnesota emphatically states what this investigation has revealed, that late-term abortions can be obtained ‘for any reason.’ This investigation has exposed that 28 states and the District of Columbia are performing elective late-term abortions, some as late as 32 weeks of pregnancy, on healthy mothers carrying health babies.

“Today, the U.S. Senate will consider the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Abortion Free New Mexico and Priests for Life stand with President Trump as he has called upon the Senate to pass this life-saving legislation and send it to his desk to be signed. Precious babies’ lives depend on its passage. Please contact your senators and ask them to support this legislation.”

The states that have been contacted during this undercover series are:  Alabama, Minnesota, Iowa, Utah, Virginia, Nebraska, Connecticut, Arkansas, Texas, Georgia, Arizona, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, Nevada, Illinois, New Jersey, Ohio, Montana, Wyoming, California, Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Washington, Maryland, Colorado, New Mexico, and Washington D.C.

    • Report by Priests for Life, the nation’s largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated to ending abortion and euthanasia.

As Alveda King, director of Civil Rights for the Unborn, and Priests for Life staff have begun calling U.S. senators’ offices about the upcoming vote on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, Abortion Free New Mexico and Priests for Life today released two new undercover calls to Planned Parenthood abortion centers that perform late term-abortions beyond 20 weeks of pregnancy. These abortions are being performed on healthy mothers carrying healthy babies.

If passed by the Senate and signed by President Trump, the Pain-Capable bill would ban abortion after 20 weeks, with some exceptions.

Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion provider killing over 321,384 babies in 2017 alone. In 2016 Planned Parenthood received $543.7 million tax payer dollars from the U.S. government and in spite of being a 501c3 non-profit organization they profited $98.5 million dollars in 2017.

Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life and Bud and Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico released the following statement regarding the latest calls:

“Despite the claims that Planned Parenthood cares so much about women, the organization is not doing abortions for free. In fact, this undercover investigation exposes that Planned Parenthood in Salt Lake City, Utah, charges the highest fee of any abortion provider in the nation, a staggering $4,000 for an abortion at 20 weeks of pregnancy.

“In the second undercover call exposing Planned Parenthood’s complicity in late-term abortions, Iowa is revealed to be another state performing abortions up to 21 weeks of pregnancy. In July 2017, Iowa lowered its abortion limit from 22 weeks to 21 weeks of pregnancy. By reducing the gestational limit by just one week, lives have been saved.

“Next week the Senate will have the ability to pass legislation that will save even more lives by ensuring that every state in America will protect pain-capable babies starting at 20 weeks of pregnancy.

“Contact your senators, email them these videos, and urge them to support the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. This is a matter of life and death.”

Evangelist King noted that in her phone calls to Senate staffers, she is encouraging the lawmakers to vote for that bill, and letting them know she is praying for them.

“I pray that God leads every man and woman in the Senate to do the right thing and vote to save the babies,” she said. “It’s a small step to take, and it’s the right step.”

    • Report by Priests for Life, the nation’s largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated to ending abortion and euthanasia.

In the latest undercover call released by Abortion Free New Mexico and Priests for Life, Virginia is revealed to be another state in America that is performing dangerous late-term abortions beyond the 20th week of pregnancy on healthy mothers carrying healthy babies.

CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO THE UNDERCOVER CALL

A staffer at the Richmond Medical Center for Women is adamant that the fee of $1,700 must be paid on the first day of the two-day procedure, and if the mom doesn’t have a ride home the second day, she’ll be admitted to the hospital for $9,000 out-of-pocket cost.

In a statement released today, Bud and Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico and Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life said

“While abortion advocates claim that abortions are safe and rare, this investigation has revealed that late-term abortions are a common occurrence in many states all across the country. Second-trimester abortions are so risky for the mother that, in Virginia, abortionists are required to complete the final day of the procedure at a local hospital.

“Not only do late term abortions put the lives of women at risk, the procedure itself involves the painful dismemberment of the baby in the womb. In fact, Supreme Court Justice Kennedy, in his dissent to the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2000 Stenberg v. Carhart decision, observed that in dismemberment abortions, “The fetus, in many cases, dies just as a human adult or child would: It bleeds to death as it is torn limb from limb. The fetus can be alive at the beginning of the dismemberment process and can survive for a time while its limbs are being torn off.”

The U.S. Senate has the opportunity to put an end to late-term abortions by passing the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (S. 1922). Please contact your Senators and urge them to pass this common-sense legislation that will protect both mother and child from dangerous late term abortions.”

Bud and Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico and Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life released the following statement regarding Carhart:

“Carhart has a sordid history of bouncing from state to state, performing abortions into the latest stages of pregnancy. This notorious circuit riding abortionist’s opportunistic manipulation of the varying late-term abortion laws nationwide, resulted in the tragic death of Jennifer Morbelli in Maryland in February 2013, due to complications sustained during a third-trimester abortion at 33 weeks. The abortionist had already left Maryland to return to Nebraska when Mrs. Morbelli went into distress. Her family had to take her a local emergency room, where she died.

“Carhart’s careless and deadly behavior is the result of inconsistent laws between the states and demonstrates how vitally urgent it is for the Senate to pass the Pain- Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, scheduled for a vote next week. This bill will protect babies at 20 weeks of development and beyond and will make it impossible for abortionists like Carhart to kill babies in the late second trimester and third trimesters of pregnancy.”

    • A previous recording in this undercover investigation revealed Carhart’s willingness to kill healthy babies of healthy mothers up to 28 weeks into pregnancy in Bethesda, MD

    By Bud Shaver

Santa Fe, NM – The state of New Mexico is considered by some pro-abortion activists as, “No. 1 in the nation for providing equal access to sexual and reproductive health services”…[ABORTION!] in addition, we are known as the Late Term Abortion Capital of America.

While pro-abortion extremists would champion the fact that New Mexico leads the nation for “Abortion On Demand, and Without Apology” and claim that unrestricted access to abortion services is wonderful for New Mexico…

    • Let’s take an honest look at how these regressive policies may be actually holding New Mexico back from fulfilling its greatest potential. Instead of being a wonderfully empowering place to live…

New Mexico is actually one of the worst places for children, families, and retirees to live:

This past week we joined our prayers with fellow pro-life Americans across the state of New Mexico and around our country to cry out to our Lord in repentance for 45 years of innocent bloodshed spilled all across our nation. On this 45th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court Ruling (January 22, 1973) we must ask ourselves what more we can do to reverse this 45 year curse.

Wednesday, January 17, 2018: This past week we joined hundreds of fellow pro-life marchers for the Annual 2018 Sanctity of Life Awareness and Unity Day up in Santa, Fe to stand for life and send a strong message to the New Mexico legislature to enact laws to protect the most vulnerable community residing in New Mexico, those living in the sanctuary of their mother’s wombs.

In addition, we were not there simply to march, we were also there to work and help get Pro-Life candidate, Michelle Garcia Holmes on the republican ballot for lieutenant governor of New Mexico for the 2018 upcoming election!

Friday, January 19, 2018: Also this past week we joined local pro-life activists for the First Annual: Albuquerque March for Life

March for Life around The University of New Mexico – UNM, a major player in the abortion cartel in New Mexico.

“January is Sanctity of Life Month so let’s march for LIFE! Let’s let our community and our government know that we will not silently stand by and allow state and federally sanctioned homicide any longer—and do it with the peace and love of our Messiah in the public square.”

Saturday, January 20, 2018: Abortion Free New Mexico joined the Messianic pro-life community in Albuquerque, New Mexico for prayer and fellowship on Shabbat…

…and then we took our prayerful presence out to the streets to stand for life. Saturday, January 20, 2018.

Here is an excerpt of Donald J. Trump’s Historic speech:

“As you all know Roe versus Wade has resulted in some of the most permissive abortion laws anywhere in the world. For example, in the United States, it’s one of only seven countries to allow elective late-term abortions along with China North Korea and others. Right now, in a number of States, the laws allow a baby to be [aborted] from his or her mother’s womb in the ninth month.

It is wrong. It has to change.

I strongly supported the House of Representatives’ pain-capable bill, which would end painful late-term abortions nationwide. And I call upon the Senate to pass this important law and send it to my desk for signing.” Donald J. Trump, President of the United States

Abortion Free New Mexico and Priests for Life released another undercover phone call today as part of its months-long effort to expose the reality of late-term abortion. In her call to Little Rock Family Planning Services, pro-life activist Tara Shaver learns that abortion is legal for healthy moms of healthy babies until 21 weeks.

When asked if there are any laws against aborting a healthy baby so late in pregnancy, a staffer named Heather responds: “It’s up to you. That’s your choice. It’s your body, it’s your choice.” Heather also quotes prices: $1,750 for 20 weeks, $2,000 at 21 weeks.

In a statement released with the call, Bud and Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico and Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life said:

“Even though Arkansas is considered to be a very pro-life state, in this 29th undercover recording, late-term abortions on healthy mothers carrying healthy babies are business as usual. This has been revealed to be the case time and time again all across America.

Despite claims that late-term abortions are rare and only done in extreme cases, this investigation has conclusively established that late-term abortions are primarily elective procedures. Pre-born babies are being exterminated every single day, brutally ripped out of the sanctuary of their mothers’ wombs. This cannot be ignored by our leaders any longer; please speak up for these babies by contacting your Senators and urging them to vote for the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.”

The 28th undercover recording released by Abortion Free New Mexico and Priests for Life demonstrates the dire need for a federal law protecting children in the womb from abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Southwestern Women’s Surgery in Dallas, Texas is another abortion mill performing abortions up to 22 weeks of pregnancy on healthy babies who could live outside the womb if given the chance. In this recording the undercover caller probes the abortion worker by asking what would happen if she had to postpone her abortion beyond the 22-week Texas limit and is told that she would simply cross the state line from Texas to their sister clinic located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Bud and Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico and Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life issued the following statement today:

“By crossing the border from one state to another, a woman is able to obtain an elective abortion into the third trimester of pregnancy. Their sister clinic is the notorious Southwestern Women’s Options, which earlier in this investigation scheduled an undercover caller posing as 30 weeks pregnant for a third trimester abortion, simply because ‘life happens’ and having another child would put undue added strain on her marriage.

“As shocking as it is for the American people to learn about the prevalence of late-term abortions, it is equally disturbing that the abortion industry is capitalizing on the lack of a federal mandate to protect pre-born babies in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy.

Contact your Senators and urge them to support the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act so that every baby over 20 weeks old in the womb is protected throughout this nation.”

Feminist Women’s Health Center screens patients to see if they have Medicaid to fund the abortion which, at 20 weeks of pregnancy, is $1,670. They also ask if you are “serving in the military” to qualify for a discount. Once again, this investigation reveals that it only takes a matter of minutes for a healthy mother who is pregnant with a healthy baby to schedule a late-term abortion in this country.”

    • Report by Priests for Life, the nation’s largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated to ending abortion and euthanasia.

Abortionist DeShawn Taylor, who previously was caught on undercover video joking about what a workout it is to dismember a baby in a late-term abortion, is apparently still building her biceps.

In the latest undercover call released by Priests for Life and Abortion Free New Mexico, a staffer at Taylor’s Phoenix abortion mill books an appointment for a woman who said she is a healthy mom pregnant with a healthy baby.

The majority of the call is spent talking about price — $2,300 for an abortion at 22 weeks and $2,500 one week later.

Father Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, and Bud and Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico, released the following statement regarding the call:

“Arizona is another state in the long list of places across America where late-term abortions are a common occurrence. In this undercover call to Desert Star Family Planning, the caller makes sure that she can have an abortion at 22 weeks of pregnancy even though she is healthy and there are no abnormalities with the baby. She is told the clinic does elective abortions through 23 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy.

“DeShawn Taylor, the abortionist at Desert Star Family Planning, who was confirmed to be the one to perform this particular late-term abortion, made national news earlier this year when the Center for Medical Progress released footage of conversations with her about the harvest and sale of aborted baby remains. She was caught on video joking about the brutality of the late-term procedure stating, ‘It takes a bit more [arm strength to dismember a late term baby]. I have to hit the gym for this.’

“In addition to these babies being fully developed enough to survive outside the womb between 22-24 weeks of pregnancy, their lucrative body parts, organs and tissues are then being harvested for experimental research.”

Priests for Life this week hosted a briefing in the Senate Russell Building in Washington, D.C., on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and specifically on undercover calls Priests for Life has released. House and Senate staffers attended.

Also this week, Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, hosted a national webcast on the same topic. You can listen to the webcast here.

These informational sessions focused on a series of undercover calls that Priests for Life is commissioning with Abortion Free New Mexico The calls are being made to legal abortion clinics and are designed to educate the public that healthy babies carried by healthy mothers are being killed in the later stages of pregnancy. This information can help prepare the U.S. Senate for the vital vote coming up on the Pain-Capable bill this month.

Today, the 25th undercover call was released, demonstrating that abortion to 23 weeks and six days weeks is legal in Massachusetts and available to anyone who can come up with $3,300. Previous calls have revealed that healthy babies can be scheduled for termination at 32 weeks.

In a joint statement released today, Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, and Bud and Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico, noted that:

“Late-term abortions are occurring in our country more frequently than most Americans are led to believe. This investigation has revealed that late-term abortions are an elective procedure, women do not have to be experiencing health issues and there doesn’t need to be anything abnormal about the baby they are carrying to legally obtain one.

“In Brookline, Massachusetts, the abortion worker makes it clear that Women’s Health Services does elective late-term abortions through 23 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy simply because state law allows it. Babies at this age are able to live outside the womb and they should have every legal right to do so.

“Please contact your U.S. Senator and urge them to vote for the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act so that these babies can be protected from inhumane late term abortions.”

A second webcast for clergy is scheduled for Thursday, January 11 at 3 p.m. EST. Please share with your Pastor or Priest.

ACTION ITEM: Help us Protect Babies in the Womb Who Feel Pain

    By Bud Shaver

Albuquerque, NM– Abortion Free New Mexico has been working with Priests for Life to release 24 undercover phone calls to late term abortion mills across 16 states and the District of Columbia (D.C.). Each one of these calls documents the willingness of the abortion industry to perform late term abortions on healthy mothers who are pregnant with healthy babies from 20 weeks of pregnancy and beyond. These calls cut through the pro-abortion rhetoric and exposes their lies about the necessity of late term abortions. These recordings give the public the opportunity to hear the abortion industry in their own words, that late term abortions are common and done electively on babies that are healthy.

Special Webcast held last night with Tara Shaver and Fr. Frank Pavone. CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO THE REPLAY OF THE WEBCAST

Why support the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act?

    • By focusing on pain, we are able to humanize the baby in the womb. the questions become: Who feels pain? How do they feel pain? How do we stop them from feeling pain?
    • Every life is unique, precious, and unrepeatable. This legislation is a small step toward protecting every baby. If we can end late term abortion at 20 weeks, we will be halfway towards our ultimate goal: Over turning Roe vs. Wade and protecting all of the babies!
    • Public support is overwhelmingly behind this legislation. The pro-life community and the pro-abortion contingency agree that late term abortion is too extreme and must end.
    • This legislation has been passed in multiple states (17) across America.

    What can you do?

    • Call and email your U.S. Senators and ask them to support the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Find your Senator here.
    • If you have already contacted your U.S. Senator, contact them AGAIN.
    • Share this information and encourage everyone you know to contact their U.S. Senator.
    • Share these video’s and information on social media.

“We want people to download the recordings and transcripts and share them far and wide, in their churches, on social media and in whatever other way they can,” Father Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life.

“We want pastors to preach about this and candidates to be challenged in town hall meetings,” Fr. Pavone said. Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico and Irene Zamorano, a member of Silent No More Awareness Campaign, will be guests on the webcast.

Abortion Free New Mexico has worked with Priests for Life to release 24 undercover phone calls to late term abortion mills across 16 states. Church Militant published an article today about our work with Priests for Life and tonight’s webcast: WEBCAST UNVEILS NEW TOOLS TO CRUSH ABORTION INDUSTRY’S LIES

    Here is an excerpt:

After months of undercover work, pro-life advocates are being handed a powerful tool to help in the fight to end abortion.

Priests for Life and Abortion Free New Mexico have been working for several months, contacting abortion mills to find out the willingness of abortion doctors to kill healthy and viable babies. They have found over and over that abortionists are willing to kill healthy babies of healthy mothers, noting, rather, the abortionists prefer healthy mothers due to the reduced risks of complications.

Father Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, told Church Militant Tuesday’s webcast will “put into the hands of pro-life activists this new tool for them to use to wake up their fellow citizens to the reality of late-term abortion.”

“We want people to download the recordings and transcripts and share them far and wide, in their churches, on social media and in whatever other way they can,” Pavone related.

“We want pastors to preach about this and candidates to be challenged in town hall meetings,” Fr. Pavone said. Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico and Irene Zamorano, a member of Silent No More Awareness Campaign, will be guests on the webcast. Shaver personally made the phone calls.

“I just don’t want it” is all you need for abortion at 23 weeks in New York

    • Report by Priests for Life, the nation’s largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated to ending abortion and euthanasia.

In the 24th undercover call in a series that is exposing the truth about late-term abortion, a staffer at a New York abortion mill seems to care primarily about the health of the mother who is 23 weeks pregnant and how she will pay $2,750 for the three-day procedure.

Mothers with health problems, or those who are overweight, she implies, are riskier bets for a late-term abortion, even though it’s legal.

Priests for Life and Abortion Free New Mexico are spearheading this series of calls to counter the belief prevalent in society – and promoted by the mainstream media – that second and third-trimester abortion is rare. In fact, it’s an every-day occurrence.

Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, and Bud and Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico released the following statement regarding this call to All Women’s of New York.

“I just don’t want ‘it’ is all it takes to get a late-term abortion in New York state. An abortion mill worker at All Women’s in White Plains, goes out of her way to make sure that the undercover caller is in good health before scheduling an abortion at 23 weeks of pregnancy. In a climate where pro-abortion advocates insist that late-term abortions are primarily done to preserve women’s health, this undercover investigation proves that just the opposite is true.

“Abortion mills are not hospitals; they don’t want sick patients coming to them. In fact, time and time again, as the undercover calls reveal, women are screened to make sure that they are healthy before being able to schedule a late-term abortion. Late- term abortions are being legally obtained by healthy mothers carrying healthy babies all across America.

“It is time for lawmakers at the highest level of our government to be informed about the facts concerning late-term abortion so they can properly oppose the lies of the pro-abortion community and then vote to end the barbarity that is inflicted upon pre-born babies every single day in our country.”

Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, and Bud and Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico released the following statement about the latest call:

“Any reason is a good reason to get a late-term abortion, according to Lovejoy SurgiCenter in Portland, Oregon. Once again this undercover investigation reveals that healthy mothers carrying healthy babies are obtaining late-term abortions for any reason.

“Lovejoy SurgiCenter provides this elective procedure through 23 weeks and 5 days of pregnancy. These calls dispel the myth that late-term abortions are rare and only occur under dire circumstances for the women seeking them.

“As the public becomes more informed about the facts surrounding late-term abortion, the more urgent it has become for Congress to act and protect babies that science has established can feel pain at 20 weeks of pregnancy. Please contact your U.S. Senators and urge them to support the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.”

  • Abortion Free New Mexico’s Response to NM Attorney General’s Letter

Abortion Free New Mexico’s Response to NM Attorney General’s Letter

    By Bud Shaver

Albuquerque, NM- On January 4, 2017 the New Mexico Attorney General, Hector Balderas released to the Associated Press two letters, one addressed to the United Stated House of Representatives and the other was addressed to Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico revealing the finding of his investigation into the New Mexico Abortion Cartel’s harvesting and trafficking of aborted baby remains in potential violation of state law. Even though Shaver was the one who filed the initial formal complaint, Balderas’ office did not provide his response to her before he notified the media of his decision. Both letters were requested by Shaver’s attorney and were forwarded over by the AG’s public records custodian later in the day, time stamped: “January 4, 2018 at 3:59:56 PM MST”

Shaver’s complaint was based on two New Mexico statutes that she believed were being violated by members of the New Mexico abortion cartel, Southwestern Women’s Options and the University of New Mexico. Balderas’ response letters indicate that his investigation found no violation of state law. His decision comes two and a half years after the original complaint filed by Shaver and one year after the Select Panel, who sent two referrals to Balderas, disbanded.

Ironically, The Albuquerque Journal published two front page articles today, one on the AG’s decision regarding Shaver’s complaint indicating that there was no selling of human tissue in violation of New Mexico laws, and the other article on the suspension of Dr. Robin Ohls’ research at the University of New Mexico.

In a memo from Paul Roth to the UNM Board of Regents he states that,

“HSC staff was concerned that: 1) an issue was being raised that would potentially infringe on the University’s policy to not buy or sell human tissue, and 2) appropriate research compliance approvals and processes protocols had not been followed.”

The article states that UNM officials went so far as to barr Ohl’s from her own lab at the University.

Did Attorney General Balderas really do a thorough investigation of what is actually taking place regarding the trafficking of aborted baby remains in New Mexico?

Read the two front page articles in today’s Albuquerque Journal here:

It’s just another day at the office for a staffer at the Birth Control Care Center in Las Vegas.

In the 22nd undercover call released by Priests for Life and Abortion Free New Mexico, Tara Shaver, posing as a healthy mom pregnant for 22 weeks with a healthy baby, asks if it’s legal in Nevada to abort a baby so far along in the pregnancy. She’s assured it is, is told she can come in the following day and that the procedure will cost $2,300.

CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO THE UNDERCOVER CALL

The staffer sounds like a young woman but seems as if she is already immune to the barbarity of this simple business transaction. If she even thinks about the human being about to be killed, it’s not evident in her voice.

Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, and Bud and Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico, released the following statement today:

“Las Vegas, Nevada, joins the growing list of states that this undercover investigation has exposed that are conducting late-term abortions. The state of Nevada allows abortions through 24 weeks of pregnancy. The receptionist at the Birth Control Care Center tells the caller that it’s no problem to have an abortion in their facility up to 23 weeks and 3 days, even though both mom and baby are healthy. This is a crime against humanity, but it is 100 percent legal in much of our nation. And it’s happening every day.”

On its website, the abortion business says it is “the oldest and most trusted abortion clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada providing abortion services for residents in Nevada, Southern Arizona and Utah.” It opened in January 1973, the same month that Roe v. Wade legalized abortion.

Breaking: NM Attorney General Turns a Blind Eye to Violations in Fetal Tissue Investigation

Albuquerque, NM- The Associated Press released a brief report today alleging that New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas sent a letter to members of the House Select Investigative Panel stating that, “no state laws were broken by the transfer of fetal tissue between an Albuquerque abortion clinic and researchers at the University of New Mexico.”

Even though Tara Shaver, of Abortion Free New Mexico filed a complaint predating the congressional panels criminal referrals to Balderas’ office, Shaver has not received a similar letter. In fact, her legal counsel was informed on December 7, 2017 by Dylan Lange, Assistant Attorney General that a “civil investigation remains ongoing.”

Shaver’s complaint was prompted by a consent form from Southwestern Women’s Options (SWO) that women were required to sign before their abortion, stating that “I understand that tissue and parts will be removed during the procedure, and I consent to their examination and their use in medical research…” Shaver’s complaint outlined that two state statutes were believed to be in violated by SWO, the Jonathan Spradling Revised Uniform Anatomical Gift Act that excludes aborted babies from use in medical research and the Maternal, Fetal and Infant Experimentation Act which states that “No fetus shall be involved as a subject in any clinical research activity unless the purpose of the activity is to meet the health needs of the particular fetus and the fetus will be placed at risk only to the minimum extent necessary to meet such needs or no significant risk to the fetus is imposed by the research activity.” According to the Act, “‘fetus’ means the product of conception from the time of conception until the expulsion or extraction of the fetus or the opening of the uterine cavity, but shall not include the placenta, extra embryonic membranes, umbilical cord, extra embryonic fluids and their resident cell types and cultured cells.”

“It is business as usual in New Mexico that the Attorney General, Hector Balderas responds to a Congressional Committee more than one year after it was disbanded. It is my hope that the Department of Justice will take a dim view of Balderas’ incompetence and arrogance and will perform a proper investigation into the illegal activities going on within the New Mexico abortion cartel centered at UNM,” stated Fr. Stephen Imbarrato of Priests for Life.

“Attorney General Hector Balderas protects those who profit from and are in the business of dehumanizing children in the womb by his lack of enforcement of state laws that are designed to protect New Mexicans, which should include those in the sanctuary of their mothers’ wombs. There will never be justice in New Mexico until leaders, law makers and law enforcers stop propping up a failing abortion industry whose grisly trade negatively effects the most vulnerable of our communities,” stated Tara Shaver Spokeswoman for Abortion Free New Mexico.

Operation Rescue has worked with Abortion Free New Mexico to call for the prosecution of Southwestern Women’s Options and UNM.

“Attorney General Balderas lived up to his reputation as a corrupt pro-abortion Democrat by turning a blind eye to obvious violations of state law,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “We now turn to the U.S. Department of Justice to uphold the law and prosecute Southwestern Women’s Options and their cronies at the University of New Mexico for illegally trafficking aborted baby remains for profit.”

St. Louis Area Clinic Ready to Schedule Next-Day Late-Term Abortions

Today, Priests for Life and Abortion Free New Mexico released the latest in a series of undercover calls to abortion businesses across the United States. In this call placed to the Hope Clinic for Women, the greater St. Louis area abortion facility is ready to schedule the abortion of a healthy mother’s healthy 22-week-old unborn baby for the next day.  A clinic worker cheerfully tells the caller that an abortion at 22 weeks will cost $2,750 and one at 23 weeks will run $3,600.

Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, and Bud and Tara Shaver, founders of Abortion Free New Mexico, released the following statement about the call:

Hope Clinic for Women in Granite City is guilty of not only killing viable babies through 24 weeks of pregnancy, but also of peddling ‘hope’ as something to be attained by killing one’s child.

“Women are truly robbed of genuine hope when they are sold abortions and many even go on to later regret their decision. Late term abortions have no place in a civilized society, yet they are occurring all across America. The leaders of this country will have the chance to bring America back to civility by voting for the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act that will protect babies at 20 weeks of pregnancy and beyond.”

Abortion Through 24 Weeks at Infamous New Jersey Mill

It’s all about choice at Metropolitan Medical Associates in New Jersey.

As part of its series of undercover calls to abortion businesses across the nation, Priests for Life and Abortion Free New Mexico today released a call from the Englewood, N.J., facility that does abortions through 24 weeks for healthy mothers carrying healthy babies.

CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO THE UNDERCOVER CALL

Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, and Bud and Tara Shaver, founders of Abortion Free New Mexico, released the following statement about the call:

“Metropolitan Medical Associates in Englewood, N.J. is another abortion mill in America that is performing late-term abortions on healthy mothers carrying healthy babies through 24 weeks of pregnancy. When the undercover caller clarifies, to make absolutely sure that she can have the abortion even though she and the baby are healthy, the abortion worker tells her that ‘It just has to be something that you want.’

“In too many states across this nation these abortions occur daily and are killing babies who can feel pain and are viable human beings. It is imperative that congressional leaders take these facts into account and vote for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act in order to protect these helpless babies.”

In 2009, Metropolitan Medical paid $1.9 million in an out-of-court settlement brought by a woman who suffered a botched abortion there and later had to undergo a hysterectomy. On the premises, state health inspectors found a rusted crochet hook used to remove IUDs, as well as dirty forceps and a quarter-inch of dirt and debris under the examining tables. At the time, the business was performing 10,000 abortions a year.
