Abortion Pill Ruling Could Shutter Five New Mexico Abortion Facilities
By Bud Shaver, Albuquerque, New Mexico- On (Good Friday) April 7, 2023, a Texas U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk ruled to suspend approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the abortion drug mifepristone. Mifepristone has a black box warning issued by the FDA, which is the strictest and most serious type of warning indicating serious or life threatening risks. However, it is being widely dispensed to unsuspecting women in abortion centers, by mail and most recently plans to obtain them over the counter at CVS and Walgreens has divided the nation.
